Hey, about to head to bed. Just wanted to ask anyone how they're feeling on our chances from the stuff we've heard today. You guys still feeling like we got a shot? Haha right before I go to sleep I always depressed the ------ outa myself... Can we hold the line?

:crying:

We're with you to the end.  As for our chances, I find it ironic that this quote seems fitting: "Never tell me the odds!"

Hold the line.

Wait, what the hell?  Is that even a kid?  It looks like a shrunken down adult male!  THEY ALREADY HAVE A KID MODEL.  Why didn't they use that?!

Yeah, some people have taken note of that and... let's just say there are no easy answers.

For any of this, apparently.

Well the model thing can just be explained as laziness.

Jokers sudden complete change of character, teleporting squad members, lack of decisions impacting anything and Shepard surviving a fall through the atmosphere? Less easily explained.

I stand corrected. I guess there are some easy answers.

Actually Laziness covers them all if we're to be brutally honest.

But we're being civil so...yeah...um.

*shuts up*

That's a kick in the quad....

Well look at it this way, if nothing else happy can be found about these endings, at least they brought Marauder Shields to us all.

We almost never knew his story. Now he belongs to the ages.

We know little to nothing about him, but we know he died a legend, defending what he believed. To stop us from seeing that bad ending.

He was too good for this world.

The Husks at the end just wanted Shepard's autograph. They always felt intimidated when Shepard had his/her companions around.

If only we had gotten to know what he wanted to tell us, instead we shoot him and wander blindly into the darkness. (or the brightness since it's a big light rod thing)

Holding the line until I have an aneurysm and drop. Would someone be kind enough to prop me back up afterwards?

I've got you man.  I've got some sticks, duct tape, braces...  And a scarecrow post.  You'll be propped up but good and ready to continue holding the line!

A true legend. Like many casualties of war, he'll be an unsung hero. And his cybernetic glowing face will be a reminder of the future. Buyer beware!

I'm OK with Shepherd dying at the end. I was hoping there would be a way to avoid it like there was with the"suicide mission" in ME2 but the was sufficient foreshadowing that I was pretty much expecting Shepherd would be forced to martyr himself. I would have been cool with that. The thing that pissed me off is that he ended up dying in order to achieve one of three different flavors of failure. Moridin had a good death, sacrificing his life to cure the genophage. Thane had a good death, fighting to defend those he cared for. Shepherd... did not die well, and that's the biggest reason I'm unhappy. The choices were to control the reapers, which Anderson and Shepherd had just convinced the IM would be a completely irresponsible gamble with humanity's future, turn all life into cyborgs, which is exactly what I had been fighting to prevent theReapers from doing, or commit genocide on the Geth and murder EDI. And to top it all off all three options would essentially cripple galactic civilization. I wouldn't consider any of these a win worth sacrificing your life for.

I was sitting in Econ class this morning, and my professor showed us a video of Apollo 13(the movie) and the guy said "Failure is not an option!"

I can't quite remember why we watched that video, but I do remember thinking: this is me, holding the line everyday...

so guys, let's keep holding the line. We can do it. And failure is an option, but it won't be because we failed; it will be because we got an answer after being here for so long.

Is it wrong that I still feel bad about all of this, I mean even if the retcon everything and say oh eez waz joke lol, I will still be infuriated by their actions and their handling of the whole situation. Maybe it's all intentional, but a kick in the nut/ovaries (not sexist on these fourms) will not be forgotten even if you give me a sandwich after and tell me you love me.

I tried to post this earlier, but that was back when the forum was in lock down. I watched the new Extra Credits today and I thought this bit from it was really pertinent to the situation.

Extra Credits

...As consumers, all we can really do is what we've already been doing, rewarding products that stay true to their core engagement... We are consumer, and currency is our megaphone.

This is exactly the kind of attitude we need to have! Hold the line!

I must say I kind of expected Shepard to die, but I thought that we would have at least had the choice to save him/her. I'm a sucker for a happy ending and not getting even the smallest choice to save him/her was what sucked. I can't get over it at all, I'm pretty much distraught with the ending and I didn't think a game could hit me so hard!

Yep you said it. "Three different flavours of failure" indeed. Shepard did not come this far to be derailed by space magic.
