1. Why does TIM DELIBERATELY stand in hepard's line of fire. He can only be shot (assuming you don't talk himself into an hero) BECAUSE he stands right in the path of your bullet.
Was that because the indoctrination theory is right and this was SUPPOSED to happen?

As far as TIM goes, it always seemed to me that keeping you free was his own sort of failsafe for if HE got indoctrinated.  Every excuse he gives about wanting you free so you can 'understand' falls flat compared to the idea that, throughout it all, part of TIM is struggling against the Reaper control...  And you're getting the killing shot because he desperately wants it to happen.

To me this indicates that we need to stop allowing ourselves to be called fans or fanatics. We need to see ourselves as we are as consumers purchasing a product, and we need to stop using emotional terminology to describe our displeasure and start phrasing our repliesd and questions from a consumers point of view, IE. "I bought this, it did not ( blah ) i want a solution" type statement

I can't bear the fact that some people can't understand complaints. We are customers for a finished product we bought. Cinema is art "live", like a music gig. When you buy a CD you are able to listen to most of the songs before buying. With a game you can't (demos represent at the most 10% of a game).
The satisfaction of the customer is the first and most important indicator for any firm. This is the first principle of Quality management (my job actually).
When a supplier can't satisfy a customer, the customer kicks the supplier out and choses another one. I really understand why people around here want to boycott Bioware and/or EA, this is their customer rights.

I don't play to many videogames, but the Mass Effect serie is 50% of my playtime at least !
The fact that we want a real ending with real choices to the serie is totally legit.

I will now try to defend Mac Walters and restore your hopes in the indoctrination theory (it's still speculation though, and quite possible that all this is just an oversight on BioWare's part, and an intentional plot hole that is there simply to make the crappy ending possible at all).

Was that because the indoctrination theory is right and this was SUPPOSED to happen? What keeps bugging me is the paragon/renegade mixup. Destroying the collectors is seemingly renegade but it was the choice Anderson would have made, and (through EMS) ties to destroying the collector base, which is a paragon choice.

2. What the app said. You know, that silly flow chart with "FIRST MATRIX" written on it, along with "LOTS OF SPECULATION"

Let's assume for a moment, that this is indeed intentional. Everyone's reaction to "first matrix" seems to be "more like the scraps of matrix 2 and 3 cobbled together with duct tape and chewing gum" - and that's because you instinctively think of the ending in which Neo flies away, vs the crappy deus ex machina that we got in matrix 2 and 3.

But what if...

What if Mac was thinking a bit earlier. That scene when Neo takes a full clip of .50 AE to the chest, point blank, and everything seems lost. And then he gets up...

Also - I've been thinking. The ending was edited, and seemingly crucial parts were cut. You know - your squadmates getting obliterated, extended talks etc. Why is that?
The widely accepted belief is that BW lost their marbles for good, and in a last ditch attempt to make a "clever, artsy" ending, opted for "Nietzsche meets Picasso".

The other, that I've been thinking about more and more recently, is that putting more content into the ending, actually works AGAINST the "secret indoctrination plot" by dilluting the ending (so to speak), and if you allay too much of the community's fears, you don't get them talking about the course of action you WANT them to talk about.

Still, this is just speculation, and I have no way of knowing if this is actually relevant, or simply more crappy writing by Walters and Hudson.

Ah, I left the "indoctrination theory" out of my post, as it has been done in great detail already, and it explains (or tries to explain) why the paragon/renegade mixup. There's a nice 13 minute clip on youtube, linked here around 13xx something page.

I've done it but Anderson will die that way 
You need to shot TIM with Renegade interrupt to let anderson live.

Alright so, as it seems more and more people are losing faith, I've decided to post a pep talk in true Shepherd fashion.

Look at what we've accomplished. Countless people across many nations have come together in revolt to the travisty thrust upon us. Silence was never an option as individuals and as a group, our voice carries the weight of tens of thousands.

We have gathered our forces and we have held the line. Even in the face of despair we have held one another steady. Resilience, powered by passion and strength of will shall be the what carries us through to victory. Our battle cry has been heard and with a force that shakes the resolve of those who oppose us and strengthens our own.

We are the fleet. We have gathered and we will not falter. We stand for Shepherd just as Shepherd stood for us.

We will not fade quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! WE WILL HOLD THE LINE!

what I meant was that the indoctrination theory is supposed to go together with my post, and that i deliberately chose not to repeat all of it and stick to my most recent thoughts on the subject, and why I believe there is still a ray of hope that the indoctrination theory is correct, and that which Mac Walters describes as the story behind the ending is really how they tweaked the ending to better support the secret indoctrination plot that is really the case...

- Putted your magic wand into krogan ass on virmire, they haven't liked it but accepted it.
- Wanted to put your magic wand into ash/kaidan ass, who hasn't accept it on virmire died.
- Putted your magic wand into liara ass, it seems she liked it.
- Putted your magic wand into Torian ass, he don't like it.. so he needs to die.
- Putted your magic wand into Tali suit, she liked it so much... she follow you forever..
- Putted your magic wand into Garrus mouth, he don't like it that much but he accepted it.
- Saren need to die because he don't want it.

End of ME2:
- Every one of your companions who survived have taken your "magic wand". Maybe they don't liked it but they accepted it.
- TIM have taken it too

ME3:
- Ash/Kai want to take it again.
- Vega want to know how is it
- Your dog (from CE) like it
- Cortes is crying because he want more.
- Liara want it again, same as Tali and Garrus
- Miranda/Kasumi/Zaeed/Grunt are so scared they won't come with you.
- You've used too much magic wand on Thane so he needs to die.
- You've used too much magic wand on Mordin that he goes crazy.
- Jack is trying to escape from ya.
- TIM is enraged with you because your magic wand have near killed him
- You have put an ultimatum at galaxy, the race who won't follow you will take your magic wand a thousand times (they will all follow ya).


At the end the only thing you cannot do is using your magic wand on the Catalyst.. this is Wrong.

This is the first time I've posted on the SBN, although I've been following it for years on occasion...

...I finished the game exactly two days after it was released, and when it was over, I could not help but stare at the tv and wonder what the hell I did wrong, even though my Shep was a full paragon who had made all the right choices and had done all the side quests, etc... So I decided to look up online to see what other endings there would be. And I realized that there were no other endings, really (I was doubtful at first because I just figured that most people weren't done the game at this point). Now I can't even bring myself to play any of the other ME games, and I refuse to import the rest of my characters only to have such a terrible end.

After that, I was depressed for a good few days before I finally decided to come here and comment in this thread just to show my support for all you wonderful people.
