Everyone on this forum is required to read this article and watch the video at the end. You dont have to watch the whole thing if you dont want to. Just skip to around 10:50, thats when the discussion of Mass Effect occurs.

This NEEDS to be reposted a lot as a reminder to HOLD THE LINE!

This is the first time I've posted on the SBN, although I've been following it for years on occasion...

...I finished the game exactly two days after it was released, and when it was over, I could not help but stare at the tv and wonder what the hell I did wrong, even though my Shep was a full paragon who had made all the right choices and had done all the side quests, etc... So I decided to look up online to see what other endings there would be. And I realized that there were no other endings, really (I was doubtful at first because I just figured that most people weren't done the game at this point). Now I can't even bring myself to play any of the other ME games, and I refuse to import the rest of my characters only to have such a terrible end.

After that, I was depressed for a good few days before I finally decided to come here and comment in this thread just to show my support for all you wonderful people.

Hold the line!

Welcome to the fight soldier! Feel free to rant and talk about what bothers you, but remember to keep it Civil ;)

What was the rage over the app exactly? I heard Bioware already dismiss the idea that the app was a ploy to make more money, but I read something along the fashion that they knew the endings were bad and did them on purpose to make things more controversial.

after 4 days i'm still a little depressed when i think about all that mess, something i can't even reasonably explain, i'm 35 y old, no problem in my life, and i feel sad due to the last 10' of a f... game i'v beaten 4 days ago? But i'm somewhat relieved to see i'm not at all alone to feel the same.

For anyone just joining us here's the deal: Standard reward is ending DLC. You'll get it when the line has been successfully held. If you fail, we don't collect your reward. You'll need your own grievances and internet connection... looks like you've got that covered. And yes, this makes you a fellow comrade, loyal fan, and a cool guy (gal). You are a community member. Period.

It's already 16.03 . Is there any reason BW didn't respond to us?

I think they were hoping Japan would like it before doing anything...problem is that they didn't :P So they might be coming up with tactics to combat this. One of them is the Mass Effect Fine hours to demoralize...I know they said they want no part but come on I am sure they aren't stopping it. Just my opinion though.

Remember Marauder Shields....

I wish they actually gave the ending that much thought, but instead it seems the conclusion to the great ME trilogy was scribbled on a note at a spur of the moment... sigh.

The app was not made by Bioware, but boy! Did it cause a ruckus on the forums.

The app was (is) a look behind the scenes of BW during the final stages of ME3 production...it pretty much confirmed that BW really thought the ending was a great idea (A quote: "Lots of speculation for everyone").

I pulled quick calculation on Charity numbers.

At the moment of writing this, there has been total donations of $52 539,34 with total donators of 2332.

That is average of about $22 per a donator.

I wonder if we can break $100 000? I mean, we are half way there and it's been only 3 days...

This article is exactly what the whole point is.

There are numerous media sources (gamespot and kotaku) that either stereotype our concerns, have no idea what they are reporting on, or take us out of context.

The fact is that we were reasonably led to believe the endings would go a certain way. Multiple times it was asked to developers. Everytime we were mislead.

I know those are harsh words, but I will give Bioware the benefit of the doubt and assume that they didn't realize they were misleading us. Regardless, you cannot lie about a product and assume customers aren't going to be angry.

I am certainly willing to forgive them if they come out with an expansion, or learn from the mistake as a responsible company can and should. However, for now on I plan on taking anything that is said before a game is released with a grain of salt.

I'm actually starting to have some doubts about that: look how nice we've been to people, we even started a charity ward! So if the Bioware decides to keep it up taht way... :DDDDD

I think you're right. We were fooled one time, even if they fix it i'll wait... Don't want to be fooled again from bioware/ea plot/poor end storywriting.
