This is the first time I've posted on the SBN, although I've been following it for years on occasion...

...I finished the game exactly two days after it was released, and when it was over, I could not help but stare at the tv and wonder what the hell I did wrong, even though my Shep was a full paragon who had made all the right choices and had done all the side quests, etc... So I decided to look up online to see what other endings there would be. And I realized that there were no other endings, really (I was doubtful at first because I just figured that most people weren't done the game at this point). Now I can't even bring myself to play any of the other ME games, and I refuse to import the rest of my characters only to have such a terrible end.

After that, I was depressed for a good few days before I finally decided to come here and comment in this thread just to show my support for all you wonderful people.

Hold the line!

*sigh* Same here, comrade. I tried to steer clear of all spoilers for ME3 and, when I reached the end, it came as a total shock. Reloaded several times, just to see if it was possible to get the ending I wanted, but quickly found out there is no good ending. Now, I can't even begin my second playthrough as my Renegade Shep. I mean, what's the point?

ME3's ending caused me to get online and come here, too.

Anyway, welcome to the war, soldier. If you're still in need of a laugh or two, I highly recommend watching this.

Commander Shepard's true reaction to the endings of ME3:

It's already 16.03 . Is there any reason BW didn't respond to us?

They've said a couple times that they want to give everyone a chance to finish first. It only came out in Japan two days ago. Today (Friday) is possible but Monday is much more likely.

Read the Penny Arcade strip about endings. Felt mocked, unsuscribed from their RSS.

People still read Penny Arcade? Didn't they stop being funny since their first comic strip?

I pulled quick calculation on Charity numbers.

At the moment of writing this, there has been total donations of $52 539,34 with total donators of 2332.

That is average of about $22 per a donator.

I wonder if we can break $100 000? I mean, we are half way there and it's been only 3 days...

Go damn job people keep it up.

We'll see then what they will tell us... if they really listen to us after all.

Patience right now is the order of the day... we have to keep the pressure up and stay patience.

What the App reavelled is a huge boost. There was a poster who is fluent in  Japanese ... that says  intail reports are looking like they hate the ending as well.

Patience.

Was anyone else really upset with the information revealed in "The last hours" app? I posted the following in another forum, but I feel it'd do more justice here:

Wow Bioware. I can't say I truly ever defended you for this ending but I did my best to understand your reasons behind it without attacking you. But now it seems my effort to be civil was a waste. This just proves that what ultimately mattered to you was meeting the release date and relieving your once loyal fans of their hard earned money.

It's official, we're better writers than you. Tell your creative team to step aside because we got this s***. Now stop trying to placate us and fix your blatant disregard for what was promised. We deserve better, for crying out loud, Shepherd deserves better. The very least you could do was maintain pride in your own story but you couldn't even do that. Good thing your fans (rather previous fans) had more integrity, faith and love for your work than you did.

Shepherd out!

Everyone on this forum is required to read this article and watch the video at the end. You dont have to watch the whole thing if you dont want to. Just skip to around 10:50, thats when the discussion of Mass Effect occurs.

This NEEDS to be reposted a lot as a reminder to HOLD THE LINE!

Insightful good sir. This needs to be heard because that is basic marketing. B)

We won't let Space Magic win :wizard:

This article is exactly what the whole point is.

There are numerous media sources (gamespot and kotaku) that either stereotype our concerns, have no idea what they are reporting on, or take us out of context.

The fact is that we were reasonably led to believe the endings would go a certain way. Multiple times it was asked to developers. Everytime we were mislead.

I know those are harsh words, but I will give Bioware the benefit of the doubt and assume that they didn't realize they were misleading us. Regardless, you cannot lie about a product and assume customers aren't going to be angry.

I am certainly willing to forgive them if they come out with an expansion, or learn from the mistake as a responsible company can and should. However, for now on I plan on taking anything that is said before a game is released with a grain of salt.

If they honestly don't fix this I am done with EA and Bioware. Cancle my TOR account and walk away from my once favorite company. The link above is 100% on what we are entitled to. Endings have been changed before ei Fallout 3 and Portal 1. We were promised that we would A) Closure B) Our choices would have an effect on the Endings  and C) not a bad ending. If we are unhappy with a logical standpoint by all means we should pursue it.

Forever with us, Marauder Shields

What was the rage over the app exactly? I heard Bioware already dismiss the idea that the app was a ploy to make more money, but I read something along the fashion that they knew the endings were bad and did them on purpose to make things more controversial.

I wish they actually gave the ending that much thought, but instead it seems the conclusion to the great ME trilogy was scribbled on a note at a spur of the moment... sigh.

The app was not made by Bioware, but boy! Did it cause a ruckus on the forums.

But mostly this turmoil didn't result because some company just tried to sell this app, but because in besaid app BioWare clearly states that this turd of an ending we got served was actually fully intentional and they considered it to be a good idea...
