So I translated some comments from a japanese website regarding the ending and me3 overall .

To be fair, I picked the first comments in the right order of the site. I`ll quote the japanese letters here as well, dont know it will be coded correctly. For reference you can follow the link,too.

I didnt find really big topics about this on 2ch etc.. just here and there some smaller discussions. so i choose one of the first hits on google to translate. But to be said, the mood is similar at many sites.

First of all there is a "nickname" going around for me3 in the forums,
instead of Masseffect , many people call it became "rent"effect

and sad but true, there are many many rude comments about the homosexual content,many feel very offended by that, so Ill avoid these.

To summerize, its pretty the same picture.
And to add on officlal sites like amazon.co.jp the ratings are pretty high.
But you have to remember that Masseffect overall isnt that popular in Japan.
The official game magazines rates are very high,though for the bigger magazines they even didnt bother to test the game, they simply often translated english reviews AND gave the same score.
on the forums you see a different view of many disappointed people.

Glad I'm not the only loser that felt true heart break. I was beginning to question my own sanity at how attached I'd gotten to video game characters. I guess I'm still crazy but its nice to know other crazies out there all over the world who are just as off their nut as I am.

you guys are quite obviously not alone. If most of us weren't so attached to characters, would we spend as much time in this support group as we are? I should be working on my DnD game but my heart stll aches after finishing ME3. So here I am helping to hold the line.

People claimed the whole week that a statement would be made on this very friday.
Next monday everybody here will be upset again that BioWare still isn't answering and later on people are going to put their hopes on some other arbitrarily made deadline, which Bioware is going to fail again.

Let's face the truth, as abhorrent as it may be, they just don't care, otherwise they would have at least announced a date for their response.
We paid them, they got the $$$ and that's just about it, all they may think about now currently is how the could let this uproar die away as silent and conveniently as possible.
The best thing we can hope for is some half-assed explanation for those endings and we won't  even get that within the next month.

How many customers are really going to boycott them? Just a tiny minority, the big chunk of the gamers will complain about ME3 for a few weeks and then they will happily buy the next turd BioWare serves them, just like they did after DA2.
Maybe they will loose a handful of devout fans, but in the big picture it won't hurt them much...

I disagree that they were counting on this kind of response. But I do imagine they are at least thinking about doing an ending dlc. After all, the biggest consideration when planning any DLC must be the question, "will people buy this?"
The answer to that of course is a resounding YES! 
Also, with so many people expressing a reluctance to replay the game after seeing those endings, it's likely any other dlc they were planning won't sell as well as they had hoped.

Trust me I know I've been holding the line since about 25 hour of day one......so just little past day one  

My theory could be completely wrong; BW original loved the endings; and now has a massive storm on their hands and that's why they are scrambling to get something done about it.  I do have faith still in them.

But with all the tweets going; way they are being cryptic; way ending plays out.......it all fits not just Indoctrination for Shepard but for us too........

Great to see the positive press is building. Between that and all the new people all over the world finishing the game this weekend, our numbers will only swell. Something will come of this eventually, we must have faith. No one ever said the battle would be easy, we must remain strong and united. That this many people have come together on the internet of all places and remained civil for this long is a miracle in and of itself. If we can do that, think what else we can do. For now, as ever, hold the line.

In the meantime, I think I'll try and get some sleep for a change. SSV Chicago out.

Nope it's only a win for them.
This is best PR BW can have. Like you said. When they come with a 4th wall thing and the real endings were planned the whole time.
Then every magazin will be "Hooray!" "They're genious!" And so on.
What's with the people here? Sure we got united. But we also had restless nights and were called entitled brats.
BW had it's fun on our costs. That must be an amazin FREE ending, if they really gonna do this.

Guys, one of the most reputable German newspapers "Die Zeit" wrote about the Reatke movement and the controverse ending.

The author of the article expresses the fan's worries in a quite proper way but also questions, if an audience has "a right" to interfer in the creative process so hard as some here try to do. He thinks, that Bioware and EA won't give the fans "what they want" because this way a precedent could be created and comsumers would maybe gain "too" much power of the product while the creative heads behind may loose more and more control.

I think in the case of "Fallout 3" they found a proper solution, but if you think closely (and i want a new ending too) it's really not an easy situation for the publisher and the developers now.
