Rent Effect....I like it! I hope that the feedback from Japanese players added to ours would finally change something..

It probably will. They will either boycot it forever or they will start being passive agressive *cough cough* NGEvangelion*cough cough*

On a side note, I love reading their discussions/comments. They sound so disappointed and make mean comments that it turns out to be funny. 

Most likely boycott forever, IF not fixed soon. Eastern/Chinese/Japanese players already are not to fond of western RPGs for things such as the ending of ME3. They only played the first 2 and started giving Bioware a chance because they could control for a happy or an ending that makes since. Japanese rpgs tend to have very happy endings and now they get this...this is going to set back sales in Asia if this isn't fixed.

I keep seeing folk use movies as examples, eg would you boycott a movie with a bad ending, last I looked the directors do not put the viewer in control of a movie, game developers on the other hand do, to give them control right through the game and then rip it away at the last moment is a poor move, if they just want to tell a story, then write a book or go into movie making.

Oh, I know, right? They only like JRPG because they can do everything they want. Then they started liking ME more when it was released for PS3 (one of their favorite console...they don't really like Xbox) and because it had a more JRPG feeling then other western games. And now...this. They are not pleased.

Haha, I knew the Japanese would eventually come up with a nickname. Be glad they aern't making threat notes 

P.S. if there are any Japanese citizens here who felt offended by that, I am sorry. It was in no way supposed to be a mean comment...just a reference for NG Evangelion and how its ending was dealt with. 

 

I'm just glad to have them on ourside... all three major markets pissed off about tendings... maybe some over there should start the   RetakeMassEffect 3:   Pacific Fleet...

Exactly, Bioware will feel the trembles of Japans anger for a LONG TIME if they don't fix it. Japan was starting to really love Bioware because they made the BEST Western rpgs. Now with this ending that makes no sense and no control for happy ending...Japan isn't going to be buying from them for a LONG time.

Forget about IGN, seriously...

Remember that reporter from the game, Diane (?) Allers?
Accidentially this character was modeled after and is voice acted by Jessica Chobot, who happens to be some IGN starlet...
In other words, IGN is biased in favor of BioWare like there is no tomorrow.

Basically boils down to gamers are spoiled brats who feel they have a right to demand something from the publisher.


They state, that ME3 is now a finished product, and you can like the ending or not, but you can't ask the devs to change it, because clearly - it's their story that's supposed to play out and end the way THEY feel it should play out and end.


Way to fail to understand the nature of the problem.


But okay, i'll play along and I will not ask for a new ending. Instead I demand a full 90 minute Live action film with avatar-grade special effects to be released, for free, for each of the 16 possible endings that will explain in detail what EXACTLY happens to everyone.

And I mean everyone:

Krogan, Quarian, Geth, Anderson, Hackett, Jack, Miranda, Tali, Vega, Kaidan/Ash, Garrus, Victus, Wrex/Wreav, Liara, Zaeed, Samara, Kasumi, Jacob, Reapers, Relays, Armada, Earth, and of course - Shepard.


Is that better IGN? It's not like I'm asking the storytellers to tell me a different story. I'm not asking Josef Stalin for a different ending to the 1944 Warsaw Uprising.


You know what: Yesterday I got the kitchen furniture I ordered a while back, but the drawers had inapropriate handles. Know what I did? I asked them to take the fronts back anc change them (and that means making new fronts, because the holes do not match). But i guess I had a right to do that, being a paying customer and all.

Well, yeah Westwood Studios hvae been gone for a long time. A few founded EA LA, which is now that Bioware Spinoff, developing Generals 2. Others founded Petroglyph who developed Star Wars: Empire at War.

I actually met Louis Castle once, he's a cool guy.

But let's not get too off topic. <_<

like few hundred pages ago someone linked a voice file where we could hear Joker saying "Girls are with me" from aboard the Normandy so... it would explain EDI and Tali stranded with our pilot on the garden world. Maybe in original ending Shep ordered him to get the hell out of the Sol system. BUT how the hell my LI Tali who was with me stormin g the beam got to Normandy? I keep trying to understand the ending to put my mind at ease but it just doesnt work.... How can they keep their mouth shut with such obvious mistakes and nonsenses on the plate...

They are calling it that because it has no replay value because of how bad the ending is and what it does.

That actually makes a lot of sense. Now we know why ign is against this...Diane always made me feel uncomfortable anyway, maybe because of her voice or eyes? I dont know...
