I have to disagree with your assessment, however; the destruction of the mass relays pretty much wipes out sentient life in the Galaxy. Maybe after another 50K-100K years new life emerges, but...that doesn't do much for those that were dead.
It would be a lot longer that 50,000 years. The 50k figure comes from the period it took spacefairing cultures to reappear after the Reaper killed the previous group. But the Reapers deliberately left those species without spaceflight alone so galactic civilization would reemerge within that time frame.
The relays, however, would be totally indiscriminate and wipe out any life in nearby star systems, regardless of their level of advancement. The Reapers, for example, didn't touch humans 50,000 years before Mass Effect. But if the dormant relay had been blown up it would have wiped all life on Earth out.
Besides, the endings only specify that war between synthetics and organics would be averted (or delayed for a while). It doesn't specify that wars and conflict as a whole were going to end. If there is no conflict it would be because there are not enough people competing for resorces, and those who are left can't fight with each other because they can't get anywhere near each other because they don't have space flight.

In 2 months time it won't matter because another competitor is releasing an a major RPG and judging from all the effort and years they spent in that game it won't disappoint. Its going to be a tough call between RPG of the year with the current endings.
Uhm, what RPG is that?

Good day all, any updates since last night?
Japan forums are calling is "Rent Effect" and Bioware is still silent
Rent Effect....I like it! I hope that the feedback from Japanese players added to ours would finally change something..
It probably will. They will either boycot it forever or they will start being passive agressive *cough cough* NGEvangelion*cough cough*
On a side note, I love reading their discussions/comments. They sound so disappointed and make mean comments that it turns out to be funny.
Oh bioware kicked a Horents nest now...
Espeically sense alot of Westren Devs have been trying to break into the market... this was supposed to be a big release and big win. Massive Japanese and Asain fan outcry and dissapoint would perfect..
vocal minority my black ass IGN, Gamespot and Penny Arcade need to wake up.

So I have collected myself from last nights vent post ( it's some where between pages 761734 and 76763289) and am ready to hold the line. And as a first act I would someone to take a closer look on the galaxy map when the color extragavanza spreads. Does it even start from Sol Relay? I didn't think so. Requesting verification.
Looking at the endings it doesn't look like it.

What do they all have in common? Their predecessors' titles that earned their developers such praise were all made before they were acquired by EA. The subsequent releases under EA's thumb were bad. See a pattern here?
It's getting pretty hot in here, guys...

Sadly I'm starting to think we may never see the endings we deserve. I think what we're seeing is not a poor design team or a poor corporate understanding, its a leader who has lost touch. Casey Hudson has said HE didn't want an ending that would be forgotten. If he is honestly in the position to make that decision then I think we're seeing "Too Human Syndrome".
Yahtzee said in his Too Human review that an auteur developer would rather take the trimming shears to their own eyes than to their beloved magnum opus. I think this is exactly what we're seeing. A gentleman that had such an influence in the end that he changed the story to what he wanted and not the fans. This is also known as pulling a Lucas. George Lucas did the same thing with Star Wars.

Ineed sir, they will be feeling this effect from years to come. It stands now that the Eastern civs are not fond of Western rpgs. They like their happy and action rpgs and to be giving this betray is not goin to fly with them.

Am I the only one that wants an ending where Shepard doesn't die? I seem to see a lot of people saying that they wouldn't even mind Shep dying if they got a decent ending.
No, I wouldn't mid seeing an ending with Shep and Jack having a couple of little psychotic Tattooed Biotic kids. Kids who constantly torment Uncle Wrex by throwing Singularities at him, and watching him swirl around like he is in a Washing mashine.
While I think there are very few that want Shepard to die, the point that people are trying to make it that that isn't the main reason we aren't happy with this ending.
