True, I think I'm gonna go play AC and Witcher. They aren't quiet as good but they are better then the bad taste I got left in my mouth after the ending. At this point in time I wish they had given me a generic "bad guys lose good guys win ending".

The Witcher and Risen 2 may yet save my RPG year.  I had pinned all my hopes on ME3 to keep me entertained post Skyrim but that replay ship has sailed.

I haven't played Risen yet. I'll need to go explore other RPGs. I have to get away from this game at this point. I will hold the line with everyone but at this point in time I've written enough and stayed long enough on the forum. The ball is in Bioware's court now. What they choose to do is up to them.

You are all going to have your thunder stolen and victory snatched from your reach, because Bioware planned this all along!.
No way did they pull this craptastic ending without the Indocrination theory being true. No studio could be that dumb.

Looking at this, is it really so hard to understand that the players want to know what happens to their beloved characters? Is it so hard to believe that after everything Shepard has had to go through, there are some of us who wished for a "happy end" (not talking about magic rainbows and stuff, just Shepard survives and goes "we did it. I'm retiring" at the end)? Is it so hard to believe that some of us hoped for retirement, old age and a lot of blue kids ever since we played LotSB?

I second that, Especially the little blue children part.
Sure, by now Liara could be pregnant, but I never saw or heard about asari twins. Even best case there is one blue kid, and not a bunch of them. And there is no dad for them (seeing Liara is the mother, Shepard the father, no matter what gender)

Didn't the dev team talk about making the game more cinematic like uncharted at some point? Couldn't this explain why the ending ended like it did.

Let that dream go. I know. I had the same dream. I did. I believe this was the most amazing troll in the video game history. I believed Bioware would show us how awesome they are but it's not reality anymore. They slapped a lazy pseudo high art ending and thought that'd be good enough for its very smart fan base. I'm sorry. You have to accept for the grieving process to begin.

Remember Marauder Shields and Hold the Line
Lord Costantino out.

One quick question that keeps nagging me:

While I am not totally commited to wanting a "happy, rainbowy" Ending, how would this ending even be possible?

Even if we would rip the reapers apart and are all "We did it!" would that allow for a perfectly happy ending for the Trilogy? We may have won the final battle, but what about the sacrifices we made to get there? Wouldn't the resulting Reflection of our Shepard (or his/her Squadmates depending on Shepards Survival) in form of an epilogue still end quite bittersweet?

I think most of us have realized that there is no such thing as Rainbow Ending. No matter how you defeat the reapers(or babyjesus) there were sacrifices to be made. There can be no rainbow ending. But maybe a heroic one, where not everything you did was in vain.

Well, the only indoctrination theories that make sence now are those the developers are indoctrinated.

Exactly. This makes the whole "They want Unicorns and Rainbows" thing even more dumb. We weren't complaining about Mordin and Thane and Legion dying. Because their deaths meant something, were well written, were in character, and really had a lasting emotional impact. The Fall of Thessia was another example of this.

In comparison the ending.... no, just no.

-Hugs- I know. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Just let me hold you for a while and you can cry and move on. Don't fight it. You're battling windmills at this point. We are fighting what doesn't exist.

Very true and actually an ending I'd appreciate. I posted it way earier, based on an idea someone lse posted. Shepard with his LI and the rest of the crew looking at the reaperless sky where the sun rises. And then I would've been fine with an epilogue like DA:O.

Agreed, unless they invoke some kind of tim travel or what not, sacrifices will have been made, and you would have lost friends.  I think in the best case senerio Shepard lives and gets to spend the rest of his/her life with the LI, but still will have lost people along the way.

If the game ended right after Anderson and Shepard speak on the Citadel, and Hackett tries to draw Shepard to the console... that would be a "happy" ending, in that Shepard made it through almost everything, and did what was needed: fire the Crucible. That was the hope of our cycle.

The ending would be fine if this Space God Child BS was just outright cut. Forever. Without mercy.
