The behind the scenes footage we all were exposed to yesterday stated in no uncertain terms that there was no indoctrination scheme. In fact, they had an indoctrination sequence planned but scrapped it. I know the videos make it look good, and you really want to believe anything other than what seemed true at first, but it's not there. Granted, it would be one possible solution for BioWare to suddenly pretend it was their goal all along, but the Prothean VI sort of shoots all of this down anyway.

Unless they were going to establish that close proximity / contact to a Reaper beam has an indoctrination effect. I guess that could work. But whatever... it would still take exposition that we don't have to get there. That's the problem with all the endings, and all the theories. There just isn't enough to make definitive sense of anything. And worse, they were going for that.

My mom came by yesterday and asked how the game was. I told her "We do not mention the ME series here anymore."

She told me my brother had got the game the same time I did, finished it in 3 days too, and flew into the biggest rage ever.

It is in italian though (Basically they're saying they will discuss and answer our question when all gamers will finish the game)

Yeah but that's not a definite answer in the least, Bioware will ultimately decide what # of gamers needs to finish it for it to make a statement.

When sales reach X dollars, that's when.

Even EA will think about the long term... right? I mean I predict BioWare will lose a huge amount of fans if they decide to leave the ending like this. Which will result in dramatic loss of sales for the coming BioWare titles.

I just did something awful... I told a friend the ending was awful (without spoilering anything to me)... and he, who is kind of peculiar, went to rent the game to see it for himself (he played the first two games but was waiting to buy this one...) >.<

I've brought more sadness into this world!

My guy has seen me play all the games. He heard me talk of things that had happened, though he was never really interested.
I told him of the endings. He agreed with me on how bad it was.
Man I can't get passed that ending. And I'm used to bad endings in games.

My mom came vist me the day after I finished the game (I played 4 hours straight during the night through the ending stages, and then came here in shock, and found this thread). This was now 2 days ago. She visited yesterday, and told me I looked sad. That the spark in my eyes was gone.

I didn't have the heart to tell her that a game did it. She's not a computer person, so she doesn't fully get it.

The FTC should ONLY be an end game strategy. Its much too early for that. Unless Bioware comes out and makes a statement that unequivocally in no uncertain terms tells the community to go to hell, the FTC shouldnt even come into the picture.
That said, We ARE consumers. We arent fans. Fandom comes after the fact. I am ( or was ) a Fan of Bioware, But i am also a consumer who purchased a product at a store that was manufactured by Bioware that did not live up to its advertising.
If we keep couching our statements in emotional "it dun work" type scenarios, they are never going to listen no matter how many of us there are. But if we state clearly, I purchaesed the product, it failed to live up to its advertising in ways a. b. c. and we would like a rewrite, thern we are standing on much more solid ground.
and no,, It wasnt I that filed the complaint. I was asleep, and wish i still was..

All good points and I agree. But I think we as a movement should respond just as we tell the "I liked the ending" guys "does it hurt us/you to have it"? No. This guy made his own thread and filed for himself not us didn't ask us didn't involve us so why are we getting involved? Let the press say it's them those people it shows lack of good logic on the part of the press to say he is us. If anything people going to post "hey thats not a movement thing" gave the site more hits ie move reason to get add run there, and showed we could be baited into responding to them making him us.

lol them making him us sounds like space magic. bad logic is bad.......

Bioware confirmed that the behind the scenes publication was A) six months old data, B0 Not a bioware publication and c) in no way shape or form connected to bioware.  in other words, it was and is nothing more than an author trying to rake in some money from this debacle.

From John Riccitello's (CEO of EA) Wikipedia page:

“The company is expected to close its current fiscal year in March with a 13% revenue gain and adjusted net income up 32% from the previous year. Overall revenue is expected to pass the $4 billion mark this year.

I am in no way accusing Bioware as I believe we should assume they are working with the fans in mind first. However, you can imagine an order given from a higher-up at EA to Bioware, "We need our profits to look good for the share holders so we need Mass Effect pushed out the door in March so we can get those sales. The game isn't done? I don't care, just slap on an ending and get it out there, we can just charge them for DLC afterward. We pay our PR team for a reason."

Again not accusing anyone as I can't know what went on for sure. However, this is why fans get scared when their favorite developers are bought out by bigger parent companies. Deadlines need to be met, so valued fans simply become customers.

I find it interesting that fewer and fewer people are saying the endings were good. There hasn't been a troll in here in a while, and those knee-jerk "I like the endings more than I like Gandhi" posts on Twitter are drying up.

Aww noo the child's play is flat-lining. I put in $65, same much I spent on the game. Imagine if everyone did that! I challenge everyone to do that! If you can I mean, every little bit helps. Hold the line brothers and sisters!

Sadly I could only put 5$ in, mainly because of ME3 and RE: ORC. And I don't have a regular income at the moment.

Well, the indoctrination would make sense. Jake asks a lot of times on the Normandy "Do you hear the hum? Maybe it's just me". Or some such. It certainly freaked me out throughout the game.
