BTW, anyone noticed that the ending were shepard breathes its real?, i mean, its not just "a generic guy who breathes" like i read somewhere, you can see this if look at the ending of Femshep or MaleShep, just look at the chest and you'll see that its your shepard :3

Talking about this, we should probably ask Bioware how we get the ending above without multiplayer...because, you know, it is impossible and they promised us that multiplayer was completely optional...

can you go into the multiplayer menu, and do a local game? basically take on the missions on your own.
or even a system link option? didn't get the chance to check.

You can play on your own but it's hard because it is set for 4 players.

Just thinking out loud here:

I still can't believe that BioWare is so incompetent with their story writing and market research for them to release the game with these cut and crappy endings on purpose without some backup plan.

What if..maybe, just maybe due to November leak they made a decision to alterrewrite the endings but simply did not have enough time to finish them? So they decided to release what was in the original leak, only cut that way so it would be seen as a cliffhanger with inconsistencies to hook on to and many questions unanswered. On purpose, And the altered ending? It has to be something big and quite different to be justified as a separate release.

What do you guys think? Plausible?

Plausible, and hopeful.

Call me pessimistic though, but I don't see that as the way it happened.

At this point, if the original ending was spoiled or not, I'd have rather played through and achieved that.

Aren't the Banshees converted Matriarchs??!!

Sorry for making pyramids... Banshees maybe are just converted asari, mauroders are converted turians... But. There  was told by Samara, that there were three ardat-yakshee and when we explope the monsatery - there whee minimum five :?

Banshees were ardat-yakshee. The monastery was for all ardat-yakshee; there may have been more discovered since the end of ME2, as that monastery was rather large for the two which you meet (which, if you recall from LotSB are Morinth's sisters). A datapad there actually details another one being brought in, with reference to others. Maybe not as rare as lead to believe.

We know for certain that, if you sided with Morinth, she is turned into a Banshee as you meet her later on.

oh, let them be. That's a minor hole, I can fill it. Just have to say that we're so exited by the ending, that everythihg else seems perfect. It's not.

Yes.. let's all forget the single player, they totally want us to do that.  ME3 multiplayer is the new Call of Duty.  HAIL great writers, your glory and legacy is being usurped.  Better do something before we forget Mass Effect 3 was an RPG entirely ;)

After one week in read only mode, this is my first and probably also my last post on the matter. After reviewing the facts and leaving out the speculative stuff I can only conclude that this is really "it". There's no planned real ending DLC. The indoctrination theory is nothing more but anticipointed people reaching out for every emergency induction port they can possibly find. There is no big BioWare Masterplan to fix this all. They simply completely screwed up.

It's beyond my understanding how anything so devastatingly horrid could have ever passed through any creative department, but there you have it. I'll continue to check the forums and I will eagerly wait for any official announcement, hoping for anything to redeem the Mass Effect franchise - but I'm not holding my breath.

Post will very likely get buried very fast as I don't have to say anything that wasn't said a hundred times before - doesn't matter, just wanted to add my voice to the "lol seriously, BioWare?" - chorus.

This is the basis for the rumour about a DLC called 'The Truth'. The basic rumour is that they changed the ending of the game due to the leak, intending to release a free DLC with the real ending in April - possibly related to PAX on 6th April when BW will make some statement about the game.

Note I said rumour. There is zero evidence to support this, although the leak is meant to have come through someone who leaked something else.

Or basically don't get your hopes up.

Run out of time, most probably. Doing " this" on purpose? Not likely. I don't think any company would do this ehmm not vey smart move on purpose. I think they were honestly convinced that the ending is good, in no way they expected this reaction.

Actually I was trying to imply that it wasn't a hole, but there were more than the 2 that Samara mentioned. I had no problem with this a staying within the lore at all. As Computim said, the Asari are very secretive about certain parts of their culture.

Haha, honestly, I thought the kid was creepy from the moment I saw him. And right before he got shot down, when he made eye contact with me, I was freaking out thinking, "How can he see me ALL THE WAY OVER HERE"

It makes sense that creepy kid manages to make the ending that much more horrifying

My thing is: I don't play live. I play on Xbox and no way I'm paying gold for mp. And I started playing ME because it didn't require any of this; I could play single player and it never caused any problems...until now. I find this just as bad as the ending. Even if they don't fix the ending, I think they should at least fix this somehow (like, lowering the minimum ems or making more ems available...it can be fixed by a patch)

I honestly don't know what all the fuss is about. I have seen all the endings and to be honest I knew it wouldn't end well the game pretty much tells you things are not going to end well.

Like I said to be honest I have no problem with the ending so I can't really see what all the fuss is about.

“Something that can’t be done well is probably not worth doing at all.” Sometimes less can be more, as the saying goes.

I would like to stress these two lines.. because that is exactly the problem with the endings ... The tried to be deeply philosophical but tried too much so and failed. If they went with a more convential way of  ending the seires  then the philosophical themes and deep meaning of the story would have come out  on its own...

Well until an official statement, i will still be holding the line.

But if BW do nothing about the ending, i already know what i'm gonna do: add BW to my blacklist. No way i'm gonna buy another of their game after this fiasco.

Either way, BW has already lost my trust, and if they do nothing they will also lost my wallet.
