Guys its over this is it.

WE FAILED

It's not over. Hold the line [love isn't always on time]

Im literally shattered right now, like the Starchild said there is no point we will always be destroyed by something we've created.
I can't i'm writing this right now.
Im sorry, Im so so sorry.

No POINT?  Pal, buck up, wipe your nose, and get BACK ON THE LINE.

At no point was that an official declaration of...  Any sort.  In fact, I don't even know WHAT he was trying to accomplish.

It's not over.  Not by any shot.

Wait, I'm so ****g confused. If anything doesn't this seem like him saying "there will be more Sheppard" mean there will be post ending clarification/editing. He can't really think he can say that then just drop "Omega DlC"

Should I cry now or rejoice?

No, wait. This isn't a failure. I don't see why we failed. He never said "we're not fixing it". He just said "we will work on new content"...whatever the heck he is talking about.

Yes. And also bear in mind that we can't take this as canon either as he mentioned deeper RPG systems in ME3 when there clearly were substituted for more TPS systems instead...

Not bashing, just making a point that others have also made.

Wow, didn't see that before. I love the quote "we wanted to give players the chance to experience an inspiring and uplifting ending". They REALLY dropped the ball hard on being inspiring and uplifting, and we wanted endingS, not one depressing ending that you get no matter what choices you make along the way.

He did not just say... what I just bolded....

he did please tell he did not...  he cannot be that blind.. ... he just cant.. be that willfully blind..

...ok...I can feel my rage building with that post.

It's one thing to say all that...but then...doesn't he realize that the ending (because, let's face it, there's only one ending) is so full of plot holes so huge that you can drive the Bismark through them?

Doesn't he realize that he's ignoring the people that truly matter?  The people that buy and play the games?  That the -majority- of those people hate the ending, because it makes no sense?

Wow...now I'm even more determined to hold the line.  This had better be some joke on his part, because if it's not it's just going to add fuel to the fire.

yea i was getting kinda angry too reading it, ill keep my paragon outlook up and, like you said, am more determined to hold the line!

No. Do not give up hope, do not stop holding the line.

More, and more people are joining us. Every hour. Every day.

If we give up now, they win. By they, I mean the people that honestly expect us to tolerate that sorry excuse for an ending.

If this is how far down Bioware has come, then by the gods of war now is the time to become more firm in our resolve. We keep hammering them and hammering them, in the manner we've been doing, and keep this alive.

Cry havoc, and let slip the Hogs of War.

Good to know I will not be purchasing another BioWare product then.

Yeah, here I was thinking I would at some point be giving Bioware more of my money.  Good to have that settled.

Also, people demanded deeper RPG elements and that's what we got in MASS EFFECT 3?  The most shooterized Mass Effect of them all?  Fail.

...don't be so quick to say 'we failed'. See what he says:

"And we’ll keep listening, because your insights and constructive feedback will help determine what that content should be. This is not the last you’ll hear of Commander Shepard."

The paragraph before that is an acknowledgement of past changes due to fan request; and the paragraph before that----yes, it's frustratingly short----is about our discontent with the 'ending'.

So he's not officially declaring an 'ending DLC', but, at least to my mind, hinting towards one.

WE NOW KNOW THAT IT'S A POSSIBILITY; THAT IT CAN BECOME PART OF THEIR WORKFLOW IN THE COMING YEAR.

Okay so this....this is just....*deep breath in, and out* Okay people. This is part of our stand, we will not give in to this.

All it states is his thoughts....if he would take some time to see our thread he'd relise that the ending did not do what he wanted it to do, the ending gave us no closure...there for it is not an ending in any sense of the word.

Sacred of the SSV Midwest, apart of the Kansas Spec Ops Delta, reporting in. We are going strong, and we will HOLD THE LINE.

It's the usual crap. He didn't confirm or deny anything. Just vagueness in epic quantities. Nothing to become a Negative Nancy over.

EXACTLY. Until they clearly say "guys, we're not doing anything with the ending. Deal with it" I won't believe that they won't. This is their strategy: they say this, we get all sad and think they won't fix it, then we will get quiet and they won't have to deal with us.

But if we remain here, they will have to eventually say it clear and loud...

Ok, I'll keep holding the line. I'll be heavier by the end, but I'll still be there.
At least it'll be easier not to move.

(actually I really wish I could have a nice cup of tea right now. May have to go get one)

It's really not indicative of anything other than they think they did a good job. Also they aren't going to outright address negativity at this point since sales are still ripe for the picking (especially since this is Casey).

It's PR speak still imo, and so long as sales suffer, and presure is poured on from the outside something will have to be done. If not for Mass Effect, then for future games from "EAware"

How on Earth can anyone think that the ending (GODDAMN SINGULAR) was uplifting, satisfying or really anything of worth? I cannot comprehend the thoughts of these beings.

I'm sorry, Casey, but your post there doesn't really apply. If you had an ending that was somewhat uplifting without accepting the Reapers' word as truth then maybe this would apply.

But there is no such ending.

Come on! Chins up people! You can't falter at the first signs of resistance from BioWare. Just imagine if Shepard rolled over for the council when they said the reaper threat wasn't real.

Hold the line!!! Do it for Marauder Shields! Do it for the crew of the Normandy! But most importantly, do it for this wonderful series which deserves to be laid to rest with some dignity!

Stiffen your resolve soldiers, the battle just got tougher. Casey, yet again, is trying to say the 2% of people happy with the ending is proportionate to the 98% not happy with it. He's also trying to say the horrendous excuse for an ending we got was not just HIS idea. It may not have been, but the notes seem to disagree.

Let's not forget "LOT'S OF SPECULATION FROM EVERYONE"

It's trained PR chat, and it's not going to work. Don't let it affect your resolve. Hold the line.

This cannot be stated hard enough, he's trying to make us lose hope while never actually saying there won't be another ending made. Keep the movement going strong until we get that answer, right now he's trying to make our movement fizzle out enough so he has the option of dropping a "No" in the future without any big reprecussions.

Tell him that we won't be beaten by this cheap PR tactic. Hold. The. Line.

Man.....you didn't expect him to issue a public apology, did you?
I think this is about as explicit as he can get, about the possibility of releasing a fan-requested alternate ending.

Just finished the game this morning. Thought I would go ahead and give this thread my support.

Read that letter from Casey and I think he missed the point. I loved the game... it was awesome. Those reviews he quoted were entirely unnecessary and kind of insulting.   The complaints from here are not about the game, they are about the game's ending.  Game was awesome, last 30 minutes? no... no the ending was terrible and didn't make any sense.

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

If anything, we need to keep saying what he have been more now. We have to show them that they were entirely misguided when they thought this would be well received. We can't let the series go down like this, too much has been invested.

Not one step back! HOLD THE LINE!

Edit: For my defense, I present this:
I actually did NOT fail history.

Hackett's voice is definitely one of the best voices in the game for me. He's not Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman level but his voice is strangely soothing and strong to me.

The whole awesome voice acting is worth noting,
personally I like the involvement of sci-fi actors, like Counselor Troi of Star Trek (Marina Sirtis) or Vala Mal Doran of Stargate (Claudia Black). There are a bunch more, and since I am too tired right now, I can't note them all.
I'd like Picard or Kirk, but that would been too cross over I guess :D

BTT:Monday would be a good day to actually release any news IF there is anything planned, and if it's not too hard to do, some infos WHAT is planned. More and more people finish the game (now also in Japan) so it would be a smart move actually.

but now, good night, and stay strong! Be civil and don't get indoctrinated!
