I think I missed the sweet part of the bittersweet ending(s). Can anyone share?

I would also like to see this "resolution" of our storyline choices he's talking about. Could someone get me Casey's copy of ME3?

Guys its over this is it.

WE FAILED

No, wait. This isn't a failure. I don't see why we failed. He never said "we're not fixing it". He just said "we will work on new content"...whatever the heck he is talking about.

hate to say this, as he's about the biggest ...... since TIM right now.....but chudson basically said....keep ****in and we'll think about it.....

hold the line

Just in thought I'd paste the link to the Retake Mass Effect petition and charity donation drive (for child's play, an organization helping hospitalized children) in case it's gotten lost in the many pages and multiple threads... It's a great way to make the point that we're reasonable, mature people who have reasonable, mature reasons for wanting a change... and even if Bioware/EA changes nothing, we've helped out the children. It's what Shepard would do ;)

(prolly have to copy paste, I suck at making links work in posts :P)

so yeah, back to my original question which never really got answered, has anything of not happened in the last 12 hours or so? judging by my cursory examination of the forums I think not, but I might have missed something...

More war Assets checking in; some forums points about - this looks like classic PR bunkering down - that we actually have them scared because of the brillant move of tieing in our movement with a charity.  We're out moving the enemy in every turn.

Either way we hold the line - we will most likely hear something on Monday - specially after Pacific Fleet aka Japan starts to hoard in......

In other words, we flanked them, but they got pretty strong barriers and a bunch of shield dispensers.

I think they're still getting over their own shock that we didn't like their ending... that or they had another one planned and didn't expect it to tick everyone off as much lol. I posted my long thoughts back a couple pages ago, got lost in the still amazingly fast growing thread...

Man you guys warm my heart <3 Hold the line. We're getting t-shirts made if we stick through this.. "I held the line" and a knife through a hoodie or something. ;)

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

If anything, we need to keep saying what he have been more now. We have to show them that they were entirely misguided when they thought this would be well received. We can't let the series go down like this, too much has been invested.

Not one step back! HOLD THE LINE!

You have a history failure at the beginning of this...

I read this and I laughed so hard...I mean, I thought I was the only one who noticed it... no offense. <3

Yeah, I think I overestimated the knowledge of the Animal House quote. Oh well.

-Edit: I stand corrected   Image IPB

I was wondering what kept tickling my mind (as it were) about that bit. Must have been the subliminal memory of Animal House.

Does that even make sence?

We look forward to your continued support and involvement as we work together to shape the remaining experiences in the story of the Mass Effect trilogy.

You shall have our "support" Mister Casey.  :bandit:

honestly let's not " flay " him alive, what could he really say at this point ?

Well....telling someone you've just ruined the last 5 years of their life is a pretty profound way of stating your appreciation :P

Wow, didn't see that before. I love the quote "we wanted to give players the chance to experience an inspiring and uplifting ending". They REALLY dropped the ball hard on being inspiring and uplifting, and we wanted endingS, not one depressing ending that you get no matter what choices you make along the way.

He did not just say... what I just bolded....

he did please tell he did not...  he cannot be that blind.. ... he just cant.. be that willfully blind..

well...they did give us that crap of an ending

Also, I need to add that all my depression is now gone, replaced with unholy rage. A company so hellbent on destroying their flagship franchise does not deserve attention from anyone or anything.
But Shepard does, so I will hold. Alone if need be.

ONCE AGAIN guys, it's trained PR spin chat. Do not let it affect you in any way. Have a drink and focus. Think about all the inexcusable things wrong with the ending. No matter what happens, hold the line.

He is completely ignoring all the plot holes and OBVIOUS CRAP that is wrong with the ending, intentionally. He is using buzzwords like "fan feedback" and "we" to try to placate us. He needs to understand that it's not going to work.

He's trying to push the idea that the ending is not almost universally disliked to crush our hopes. It will not work. Strength of mind people. WE ARE THE 98%

Does anyone still have a link to the article describing the PR process? That'd be a good thing to link alongside this.

This popped into my mind this morning....it's even more appropriate now in light of the recent release:

Moved by outrag'd fans' dismay,
BioWare had this to say
"You'll get one, you'll see
That's not RGB"
It'll probably be CYMK

I take Casey's statement to be a good thing, it's given me slightly more faith. Yes he said some people are happy with the ending, but he also openly stated that they are more than aware of many fan's upset about it too.

He went through listing big examples of how we, the fans, got things implemented before, what we changed because of our passion and love for the game, and then said that they WILL be working on new stuff, Shep's story is NOT over and that WE will be the ones to influence what that content is.

There is definitely the usual PR spin in his statement, but what he said has given me a huge swell of hope that we can do this, you guys.

We will hold the line and we will make a difference, like we always have done.

I don't think this really told us anything. He said 'this is not the end of Shepard', that could mean anything from ending DLC to pre ending DLC..........this means nothing to me, come on Casey talk to us probably! Until then I will continue to hold the line!

What are you talking about? He actually aknowledges our greivances and asks where we go from here. This is a victory!
Have your opinions of the ending changed? Are you now happy at the lack of closure?  Are you going to turn away now that a dialogue is about to begin, or will you stand your ground and DEMAND to be heard?

HOLD THE LINE!!!

... which answers exactly zero of the complaints and treats us like we just didn't understand what they were trying to do. It would appear that they practice the M Night Shyamalan school of handling constructive criticism: "F*** you, I know what I'm doing. See, this other guy says I'm a genius!"
