So we can't get the ending we want after all?

And yeah, like others have said, if the idea was "an inspiring and uplifting ending," I think something went terribly, terribly wrong. But we'll see.

what can we possibly expect after a statement such as this?
if he "thinks" everybody loved the ending he won't change it.
He's downplaying the response to make it seem minor. If it was minor he wouldn't even need to discuss it, would he?

We are NOT losing. We have increasing support from various media outlets - including most importantly Forbes...who are probably going to tear his comments apart for the short-sighted garbage they are. What they want is for us to give up, so everything can be quietly forgotten and they can pretend the game was a huge success and they did not wrong.
What we do is ignore him. He clearly has less grasp of reality than the cast of Jersey Shore, and more importantly at the end of the day he is NOT the one who'll get to make the call about an ending DLC. We hold and his bosses are going to tell him in no uncertain terms to make a bloody ending DLC while Bioware has some customers left.
The alternative is that Bioware loses a HUGE number of its customers, this is reported and noticed by investors who will ALSO be reading about how those customers are unlikely to ever go back to BW. The Share price drops like a stone, BW/EA goes into bust and another company comes along, buys the rights to Mass Effect and releases an ending DLC so they can continue making games in that setting.
Geez I leave for a few hours and I miss crucial info. Who is Forbes going to tear a new one?

Until then we stand firm, we stand strong, we stand resolute and we hold. the. bloody. line.
Thank you.
reposting because this is absolutly brilliant.
^ Yep. Guys, he just aknowledge that a lot of us are upset, and that ME would have never existed if it wasn't for us. And he just said they will take our opinions in consideration, so...this is more than what has happened in the past week. THIS is when we have to push for it. We just moved forward.

That he writes that doesn't mean he believes it. Even if he does we can change his mind, we are the fans and customers, Bioware is a company and the developer. They exist because we allow it, and they will change the ending because we demand it! That is how capitalism works. Sooner or later a guy with a white collar will tell them that their profits are hurting! At this moment we win.
Hold the line.

We are not the minority. We are the majority.
We are the fans who support this company, who believe in it, who know what greatness it's capable of. We are the ones who are passionate about Mass Effect, the sci fi game series that has been the most epic game of our generation, and all generations preceeding it.
We are the ones standing tall against the darkness of greed that wants to envelope this, perhaps our most beloved of game producers...and if that post is true, if it is the gods honest truth of the situation, now we are needed more than ever.
So many times we, the gamers, have seen inferior products on the shelves of stores at premium prices...and we have bought them, because there was no other option. Games over the years have lost the creativity, the drive, becoming former shells of themselves. Mass Effect in its entireity was not only the last, best hope for quality product, it was the springboard for a new beginning in the industry.
Had the series ended on a high note, it would have been unrivaled, without peer...it would have been an example for -all- game companies to follow. The entire industry to follow. If Bioware kept producing games of its quality, there would be no question of its superiority, and its loyal fanbase would grow. The others would HAVE to take notice.
They are stumbling now, in the darkness of greed...we must not let them falter, we must continue to have our voices heard.
We must hold the line...for if we don't...
Who will?
Who just raised $55,000 for charity in less than 48 hours? We did.
Did you know that anti-SOPA groups just tried a charity drive last week? They raised a total of $15,000 and had trained PR fundraisers with them.
We've already changed the face of gaming. We've done something historical. We have had more media attention brought to our cause in a week than some political candidates have their entire careers..
Change starts with everyone. Don't let yourself be disappointed, demand excellence of yourself, and of others and you will bring out the best in everything.
Do NOT sell yourselves short people. We hold the cards here. They can say whatever they want. We can petition their parent company if we don't feel our greivances have been properly redressed here.
Our greatest strength is each other. We will hold the line, because we are not going to let the series end like this. There is so much we've already done. These next days and weeks may be hard due to the length and the lack of novelty... but the rewards will be worth it.
We are entitled. We are entitled to excellence in the products we buy, we are entitled to receive excellence from a company who we purchased a product from BECAUSE of their reputation for excellence, and we are entitled to receive a redress of greivances when we do not receive said excellence.
Hold the line.

He never said anything about ending DLC. The only thing this proves is that they didn't have a secret 'good' ending up their sleeve which I believe had been established before but everyone seems to forget/gloss over that.

It's not THAT bad of a reply. He notes that the players have long played a role in shaping the story, and will continue to shape the direction of the content they plan on releasing over the next year. I think he glosses over our complaints a bit ("more closure, more answers, and more time to say goodbye to their stories" is not exactly synonymous with "these endings are horrible and make no sense"), but all in all, it's decent. PR speak perhaps, but nothing excluded. I'd stay hopeful, guys.
And yeah, like others have said, if the idea was "an inspiring and uplifting ending," I think something went terribly, terribly wrong. But we'll see.
I was reading the "more closure, more answers, blah blah blah" part and wondering where the heck he got those ideas from. I mean, we obviously thought the game was amazing. I need to send Bioware a letter. They need to understand we LOVED the game but hated the ending. There is nothing else wrong with the game except the ending...and ems w/o multiplayer(but that's another story)
