Tired of the PR doublespeak. People (including me) are going to riot when the first DLC is some Omega nonsense.
Problem I have always seen with DLC that takes place before the ending, is that it will have to tie some way into the whole "gathering the warr asset" feel of the main campaign. And Omega really isn't that much of an asset, more a liability. I just can't see how it would even make sense to do it really. But yeah, definitely PR doubplespeak.

Please let's not immediately jump to conclusions, now is not the time to start bashing them with the potential olive branch they may be holding.
The best thing we can do is watch them and let them prove themselves to be the company we know and love, or show that that company is no more. Any flaming or negative comments to them is not going to get us what we want, and in the long run it's not going to make you feel better.

Game Over. Bye bye bioware
He said nothing concrete. In fact he said, that we as a community will influence further content! So: Be patient and hold the line!
what can we possibly expect after a statement such as this?
if he "thinks" everybody loved the ending he won't change it.
That he writes that doesn't mean he believes it. Even if he does we can change his mind, we are the fans and customers, Bioware is a company and the developer. They exist because we allow it, and they will change the ending because we demand it! That is how capitalism works. Sooner or later a guy with a white collar will tell them that their profits are hurting! At this moment we win.
Hold the line.

Hey guys, it's been a day or two since I've posted. I've read a little bit here and there but I'm not up to speed on everything that's going on and I don't have the time to go through the 300+ pages I missed.
Can anyone give me a quick summary of whats going on?

...ok...I can feel my rage building with that post.
It's one thing to say all that...but then...doesn't he realize that the ending (because, let's face it, there's only one ending) is so full of plot holes so huge that you can drive the Bismark through them?
Doesn't he realize that he's ignoring the people that truly matter? The people that buy and play the games? That the -majority- of those people hate the ending, because it makes no sense?
Wow...now I'm even more determined to hold the line. This had better be some joke on his part, because if it's not it's just going to add fuel to the fire.
Only fuel?! He added a whole barage of ftl fleet barrage to it and
triggering a atomic bomb in the middle of it... Lets see how the thing really
whent down. *Bioware office* Uh i have no idea for the end lets just copy Deus Ex.
Oh that sounds like a plan they will love it!!!

That and one of the comic book arcs was her losing Omega. And at the end they said it would be continued in Mass Effect 3. So, yeah... probably safe to bet that it will be DLC content.

Casey posted a longer, less concrete, version of "We're listening, please, by the goddess, buy our stuff".
It just me or are their responses less and less 'that's the ending deal with it" every time they post haha?

Our resolve must stiffen. We must hold the line. Imagine yourselves like Samara. There is only the code. THERE IS ONLY THE LINE. WE MUST HOLD IT. THEY MUST NOT WIN.
I will stand with all of you until the last.

It's not THAT bad of a reply. He notes that the players have long played a role in shaping the story, and will continue to shape the direction of the content they plan on releasing over the next year. I think he glosses over our complaints a bit ("more closure, more answers, and more time to say goodbye to their stories" is not exactly synonymous with "these endings are horrible and make no sense"), but all in all, it's decent. PR speak perhaps, but nothing excluded. I'd stay hopeful, guys.
And yeah, like others have said, if the idea was "an inspiring and uplifting ending," I think something went terribly, terribly wrong. But we'll see.
I was reading the "more closure, more answers, blah blah blah" part and wondering where the heck he got those ideas from. I mean, we obviously thought the game was amazing. I need to send Bioware a letter. They need to understand we LOVED the game but hated the ending. There is nothing else wrong with the game except the ending...and ems w/o multiplayer(but that's another story)

An acknowledgment that the fans have practically always played an important part in shaping the direction of the narrative is important, I think. It's exactly what all of those "RESPECT ARTISTS AND THEIR DECISIONS" commentators miss entirely. It's good to see Casey Hudson hasn't forgotten that... and since there's really only ONE thing people right now want out of DLC, if he's being sincere that the fans will "help" continue to shape what DLC they produce over the next year, I have a certain amount of faith. Not a lot. But some.Aeyl wrote...
So, after getting a cup of tea and contemplating Mr. Hudson's response, I realized that overall they still haven't really said anything. It was mostly just praising the fans and his coworkers (which is expected, and great) and then saying that they still aren't going to say anything about what everyone wants to hear about.
So, my hope has returned ever so slightly and my mood is uplifted (partially due to the chai tea)
