I'm still seeing from the twitter feed line 70-80% hating the ending; though a few same tweets from the same person liking the ending.......doesn't matter if the same person tweets the same thing; over and over; only counts as 1 person ;)

If I may make a suggestion that at this point if they truly are trying to listen and understand what we want changed. Then I cant think of any other way than to keep it simple and make it clear with a list of the huge plot holes and other concerns so that we can post it here or make a separate thread showing the entire list.

I guarantee if they decide to fix the ending they'll charge us to play it, and when it happens they won't see a damn penny from me. It'll be all over Youtube anyway.

Still, it's worth it to keep this "Hold The Line" stuff up, if only to bloody their nose a little bit and make them more considerate in the future.

Yeah this.  I'm quite literally never giving them another red cent.  Frankly I don't give a damn about Bioware.  I'm not a Bioware fan.  I WAS a Mass Effect fan.  If they destroy my enjoyment of the franchise than they no longer serve their purpose for me.

Don't get me wrong guys.  I'm still holding the line.  Even if I don't plan to buy it, I'd still like ME3 to get the ending  it deserves.  Plus, I think you guys are awesome, and you totally deserve to win this war.

So I'm holding the line.

Well, not right now, 'cause I'm going to make dinner.

But after that?

What people need to realise is by changing the ending it will ****** off the fans that enjoyed it and change gaming history that would cause so much more work and pressure on developers.

Why would they do this if they believe that its only the minority that feel as we do?

there is a statistic in business that for every one person who is angry about a product/servie there are 10 who don't.  I would say in this case it is probably 1/2 and 1/2.  RPG gamers are notoriusly solitary by nature.  I myself left this very place in 2007 because I of all the squabling about tali love and liara love, etc.  I swore to never have an account here again.  I felt that Bioware's association with EA was tainting the games, because while EA creates good action and adventure they don't do RPG.  Instead, after the dissapointing crash and burn that is ME3 I actually went and bought a router so i could register my ME3 game just so I could join the 'spoiler allowed' forum.  They will obfuscate.  They have to .  They will say its never been done before.....but we all know it has in literature, television, movies and yes other games.  It is possible .....but you cannot give up.

Holding the Line.

People. Loyal fans of Bioware. Loyal consumers of Bioware.

This battle is more important than you realize. We've garnered a LOT of attention...more attention, I think, than any other thing remotely similar. I know some people have been gaming longer than me, and on the internet longer than me, but I want to give those of you with less experience some of the experience I benefit from.

I've never been one to hang out on boards. I've never been one to participate beyond the occasional comment. Too many times I've seen flame wars happen, and a very small minority of people on a board disliking something (such as a game) and just shooting their mouths of. These small groups think they're exercising their freedom of speech, when all they're really doing is exercising the freedom from being punched in the mouth.

These people are ignored by just about everyone...eventually, these kinds of people evolved into the trolls we see today. Gaming magazines, well, media of any kind hardly took notice of them because of how they acted, and that their numbers were so small. And when they took notice, it was universally negative.

I have been on the net for 17 years, since I was 13. I've been a gamer for 22 years, since I was 8. I played consoles and computer before then, but I only got my first game system when I was 8. I love games, I love playing them for the adventure they offer that I couldn't get anywhere else. I enjoyed the stories they crafted, and the challenge they posed.

As the years wore on, I've seen games come and go...I've seen ones that were innovative, new, and exciting...and I've seen the ones that have come after using the same formula over and over again, until it was tired and worn. But not once did I comment, not once did I complain...because the people that were were not people I wanted to associate with.

Then along came the Mass Effect series. At first, I didn't pay any attention to it; I had other, more pressing concerns. But then, one day last year, I saw Mass Effect 2 for sale at Gamestop for $19.99, and decided to give it a try...I'd been hearing good things about the series.

After the first playthrough, I immediately purchased the first game. I had never, ever seen anything like this game...the unparalled choice, the way my decisions in conversations and events -mattered-. The believeable, fully developed characters. I had loved Fallout 3, having been a longtime fan of the Fallout series in general...but I adored Mass Effect far, far more.

I've never anticipated a game like I did Mass Effect 3. I told waited patiently, avoiding spoilers, fully intent on sucking every bit of enjoyment out of the game as possible, already planning trilogy-wide playthroughs just to see what I could do.

When it first came out, I like you, was totally amazed by it...the depth, the action, the -story-...until the endings, like you.

I came here, and saw this thread...and for the first time, I felt like joining. Here were people that felt and thought like me, that were displeased, that were NOT being idiots...that were being mature, presenting their stories and their cases in a mature and adult fashion...for the very first time, I saw people being intelligent about something negative...and I haven't turned back.

The number of people involved in this is staggering, the fact that it's organized is amazing. If non-gaming magazines like Forbes are taking notice of us, commenting on how what we are saying -matters-...and we have far more people from the Media saying we're right than ever. No other movement in this industry has even come close to matching our dedication, maturity, and generousity...well over $50,000 dollars donated in a few days speaks for itself.

We are being mature, we are being reasonable, and most of all we are being heard.

THAT is what is making all the difference. THAT is what sets us apart. If we give up now, we're doing the game industry irrevocable harm. We are continuing to allow the greedy though process that we, as consumers, do not matter. That they can shove the same tired things at us, shove incomplete and buggy products at us, and that we have no right to ask, and demand if necessary, change to something they've produced.

This doesn't work in anything else, people. There are plenty of examples where campaigns across just about every modern medium have succeeded. This is the first time in -this- medium that such a large group of people is demanding answers, demanding change...standing up for our rights as consumers with our passion as fans.

We are not acting entitled; that is reserved for those trolls who bash otherwise good products, the minorities in other forums that can do nothing but rage and flame.

We are customers, we are fans, and we don't want to see what we love degraded by greedy business practices. We don't want to see the game series we love ruined by what ammounts to sloppy writing at the end, a product defect that can, and has for most, destroyed the rest of the game.

In my experience, I've never seen anything like this movement, or the cooperation and dignity of you people...we need to do this, we need to set this example...we need to keep our voices heard and to get stronger.

So don't give up.

This could also just be me dreaming up a storm

I just realized how silly it would be to release DLC for the middle of a game that ends a trilogy.  While they haven't mentioned what DLC they are working on, we just know from news that they have a lot incoming supposedly.  So maybe they are playing it off like an MMO I guess, adding new content until they finish the actual story?
Sounds stupid and probably said before I know, but just think of it as games adding content/gameplay to SP after the fact (i.e. Elder Scrolls, Borderlands, Fallout).  The content that we may be getting may just be a continuation onto what happened after the events of the end of ME3.  I have beaten the game a few times already and I know it doesn't really setup for anything, but in a way I could see how the "new content" would work.

Yes the end did say that we have become legends, then just goes back to before the final 2 missions so we can "play extra content."  While this does just sound like end game DLC to give us the actual ending, I keep hearing the final speech between the Old Man and the kid play back in my head as well as Shepard drawing breath.  If they said that we are going to be seeing more of Shepard, then maybe this is what they meant by it, or at least we could only hope.

Us not actually beating the Reapers in the end, due to indoctrination, our allies coming to save Shepard for the first time instead of the other way around.  Recovery to find another method to take down the threat, if you even can?  Possibly answer many questions that were left open, even possibly concluding that Harbringer is merely a puppet of something larger.  That or que destroying the Reapers by some unknown means to us and then closure.

They did say it was the end of the trilogy, they never said how long the last game would last and that we would see Shepard again.  This could also just be me dreaming up a storm and trying to believe what I am thinking in my head.  For someone who is a level designer for an Indie Studio, my imagination is just running wild at the moment.

Regardless on if I am right or not (most likely not)...
Hold. That. Line!

the official feedback post is already... posted. You could also quote some blog explaining quite goodly our grief. (i think of the 5 reason why the ending is so bad )

But, we could also do this and then, email the entire list to bioware. That could have an impact IMO. Just imagine 30k mail of protestation...
