Honestly, I don't see why people only want bittersweet endings. Why not make all of them available? I mean, I am pretty sure that with the death of many, it is sad enough. This isn't supposed to be tragedy...or else I would have never started playing it...

Exactly.

It can still be bitter without Shep dying and/or everyone in the galaxy getting screwed. And like I said before, there should be a WIDE range of choices that ALLOWS the player to end Shep's story the way they want. Something Bioware missed the mark on...to say the least.

And again, DA:O is the perfect example. You actually decide the fate of the Warden....and we should be able to decide the fate of Shep. There are enough aspects of the story that makes it bitter yet it completely lacks the "sweet" part. Some people find the ending hopeful....and I just don't understand that.

I don't either. You want your Shepard to die? That option should be available for you (as it was in ME2). You want your Shepard to live? That option should also be available.
And yes, DA:O had all of those options...it was perfect. Everything you did tied up really well at the end. Why can't that happen in ME3? Why do they have to make everything so...linear? Die die and die?

I have nothing against dark endings, we can even have one but let us have "at least" 1 good one were we don't die
Make it the hardest one to get and i would be fine with that.....oh and the Relays of course

Confession time (this'll be brief, don't worry):

I've been playing a few rounds of multiplayer a night for the past two or three nights to take some of the edge off, because it's really not as bad as had been thought before release and it's a decent way to pass the time (plus it fits well with the single-player). When I started playing tonight I saw the Operation Goliath thing, not realizing what it truly represented, and so I went for a few matches -- even managed to help win a Silver challenge and kill several Brutes.

At the core, however, this was just meant to immerse myself in some runny-shooty gun fun.

Back to holding the line.

Actually his review is spot on and is exactly what is needed....

Did you watch the whole review? He is playing a character "Angry Joe" and at times he does get a little hyperbolic but it is a well thought out and balanced review. He points out both the positives and negatives of the game.

So basically

Start                                                                           End
|----------------------------------------------------------|------|

Good                                                                          Bad

So much easier than writing it out.. why didn't I try this earlier?

No need to apologize!  Geez we're not like the spanish inquisition.  I played some earlier this week too, it's a lot of fun.. I got ME3 for the single player epic narrative but I found I enjoyed the CoD style multiplayer.  I just want them to fix the ending haha

No, it is not.  A major theme of this and other threads has been to keep commentary CIVIL.  This Joe person is quite the opposite.  Therefore, unfortunately, his rant does little but instill confirmation in those who might believe we are unreasonable.

EDIT: Whether he plays a character or not is irrelevant.  The media likes soundbites; when they see the pieces of his review that fit with their preconceived notion of the gamer community, THAT'S what they'll comment on, NOT whether he's being clever with his narrative.

Okay, ladies and gentlemen, I have been reading the Japanese forum and the news of Casey Hudsan statemente has just arrived there. They are upset that another DLC is coming out (especially because it takes longer for them to get it than it takes for us, because they need to have the Japanese charcters input, and that takes longer...or so they said) but they would rather have Bioware fix it than leave it the way it is.
They just got the news, so there really isn't a lot of talk right now, but I'll keep reading.

I still haven't been able to do that, I still can't even play the game.  I can't play any game, I bought the xbox360 just because of ME1, I was strictly p.c. before but thought this would broaden my horizons.

See what that gets you?

Heh, thanks guys.

And you're right about the weird unlocking system. I don't understand why you have to pay in-game credits to get avatars from other species. That, and the Ops Survival Pack—there seems to be no way to activate those.

So the question is why fix what ain't broke? Like you said DA:O  had all available outcomes. So why not here? They wanted the endings to be remembered and talked about. Wouldn't  that happen if each person choose something different (say a person choose sacrifice and another choose to live through the sadness and loss) then we'd talk about why this outcome fit into our Shepards story. It works out for everyone.

Texas night shift checking in. Saw this post http://social.biowar.../index/10089946

All fluff about the positive feedback (I find it ironic they mention Penny Arcade - considering Tycho Brahe's most recent posts on the subject in their entirety).

But the current official statement contains no content, no solid answers or replies to the outcries. Yet again, more "oh, we're listening to your constructive feedback" lines without giving us any evidence that they're actually listening or planning to do anything about it. WHAT MORE do they want that we haven't said a thousand times over? It's absolutely, purposefully vague and persists in trying to squeeze in the "art" argument. "Art" --does not make you free pass from critique--.

Why aren't their choices? Have your artsy ending - but give us satisfying ones too! DA:O had tons of options for your endings, that everyone could then sit around debating about which one was the best. WHY are there no options for ME3?!

Likewise, bittersweet does not excuse the lack of choices, lack of sense, lack of content in the endings.

As many, many people have said, the game was -already- bittersweet. I cried as I wished some of my favorite characters goodbye - Mordin and Thane. The sweetness came from the hope both we and Shepard had, that their sacrifice would not be in vain and that we might yet beat the reapers. It would have been a bittersweet victory -just based- on all those sacrifices, the numerous deaths of many, many soldiers in the battles.

This ending was not bitter or sweet - it was just empty. Insulting to the game, and to my intelligence.

Basicly... free stuff if the community kill 1M reaperkrogan (don't know the name in eng, sorry ) and free stuff if you beat silver and gold. ( 2 or 3 time )

Basically, they are trying to bribe you into forgetting the whole thing.

I'm gonna sit here and enjoy my Oreo flavored ice cream until they say something...

I can't even play multiplayer (I lack Xbox Gold). Even if I could, I don't like it due to lacking the ability to freeze time.

It's too shooter like. I normally despise shooters with an unholy passion.

The Mass Effect Series was the sole exception to that. That's why I will not let one of the few game series that pushed me out of my gaming comfort zone to fail due to the last 5 minutes of the whole trilogy.

(Just so you know, the whole rest of my gaming library is made up of JRPGS with a few Fighting Games, Western RPGS, and Platformers mixed in.)
