You know what the sad part about that 'You haven't seen the last of Commander Shepard" is? The DLC could be in the middle of the game, not the end. Yep, you'll see Shepard, just...not...where you want to...

Exactly - which is why we need to stay strong and firm until we get concrete replies. The statement is so vague, it could mean literally anything. It could be mid-game DLC. It could be changes to the first act.  It could be Shepard appearing at random in multiplayer. It might be a thirty second snippet of Shepard eating pie!

Hold the line.

The Re-Take campaign appears to be over. Sorry folks.
If you think Hudson's letter (which he didn't even post himself) lends any hope? lol. You really must be desperate for good news. The PR damage control is obviously in it's last stages, and they're just wrapping things up in the backyard.
*snip*

Quitter.

Naw, never started. Don't get me wrong, you have no idea how much I also think the ending was crap.

But before this movement even got the heights it did, I kinda saw this coming.

It is what it is, the ending was crap and there's not much that can be done about it. The sooner you accept that, the sooner you can actually appreciate the 99 percent of the trilogy that was well-done and how significant it will be to RPGs in the future.

Like other great developers that have really risen in the past couple decades like Blizzard, Valve, Bungie, and etc, Bioware set a new space for itself in the gaming industry.

It's just too bad that one of their most defining works also has one of the sloppiest endings in the history of gaming.

You obviously don't understand the basics of consumerism, then. Bioware is viewing this from a purely financial standpoint; if we keep our movement going long enough, they will give us what we ask for in order to save their profits.

Something worth fighting for is worth more than a single week's perseverance. This is the time that will define us. If it wasn't a little hard (and face it, being nice to each other and sending letters/emails isn't particularly difficult in the grand scheme of things), everyone would do it. Don't be divided. Don't lose help. Hold the line.

Good on you, but really, you have even less hope than Shepard did against the crap ending.

Exactly. It's never been a secret that there would be ME3 DLC. That quote is classic doublespeak, meant to put out the PR fire.

If he would just say 'A new ending' or 'After ME3 ends' or anything really that gives the player closure... sheeeeeet. I'd rather be stuck with these choices and a scrolling text bar of doom telling me how each of my squadmates died than just the ice cream with red, green or blue sprinkles that it is.

Hold the line guys, heading out. California Space Brigade returning once the sun rises.

????

Profit!

didn't know underwear was a problem for anyone.  i've been told apparently its the fanboys.

Pretty much, yes. A lot of people feel like it's some sort of censorship... But I couldn't care less about it. It's a weird thing to be looking for in a video game. Very weird.

The N7 Nights stuff is a PR tactic meant to distract players from the larger issue at hand. Standard procedure in events such as this. If it were originally planned before the major backlash from the endings, I wouldn't have a problem participating in it. However, since it is intended as a stopgap to try and prevent revenue loss, I'll not be participating.

That's right, Bioware. Xbox gamertag CompuNerd27 shall not be seen during your event.

I'll be over here with the rest of the fleets, holding the line.

Good man. Same here. As much as I liked the MP I will not partake until Bioware corrects their errors.

That's your opinion. We have ours. You can be a nay-sayer all you want, we'll just be able to say "told you so" when we succeed.

I don't think people understand what we have accomplished. Sure Bioware still hasn't given us a definitive answer and it might take months before they do. However, we made a stand and we're holding the line and that counts for something. We're doing it for ME3 but if you look at it another way, WE (minority or not) are standing up against the powerful. Who knows maybe this'll open up avenues for other fans/consumers to stand up.

Really reminds of the conversation with EDI about prisoners where she says something along the lines of "But Shepard, their defiance never resulted in anyone ever escaping. They failed" and Shepard just replies "EDI, there are some times you just need to take a stand".

Hopefully our holding the line will get rid of the "They failed" part though.;)

....I was supposed to go to sleep but then I saw that long post.

I seriously doubt that they've disbanded whatever resources they had assembled, to make ME3. It looks like they've planned an extra year of development----that would include (I'm guessing) contracts with the VO artists.

It's not like anyone's asking them to rewrite the ending to KotOR. This is a game that's fresh out of the workshop that's produced it. My guess is that that 'workshop' is still intact.

They have to know, that people will perceive mid-game DLC as an insult at this point. So, cancel those, and redirect those resources to a proper ending, which they should have shipped on March 6th anyhow.

Bioware's making this way more difficult than it needs to be. If they admit they dropped the ball with the endings and promise an ending DLC rather than giving us empty 'statements' that don't tell us anything we don't already know and special events like N7 Weekend (which I'm boycotting) it'd all be water under the bridge for a lot of people. I'd still be wary of buying it but, I mean, they can't mess up an ending fixing DLC, right? ...right? Until then, hold the line.

Perhaps we do. Perhaps all of this was for nothing. But I can certainly say that I tried. Perhaps that means little to you. But when the day comes that we get the definitive answer.

We won

We lost

On that day I can still hold my head up and say that I at least tried something. Which is more than you can say. To naysay and say it was always hopeless is just the equivalent of rolling over and dying and give every other gaming company the green light to pull this kinda **** again. At least now they'll at least think twice before passing some piece of **** as an ending and call it art.

I think this Monday will be an important day for the movement.

If Bioware's PR tactics with the free SWTOR weekend and the N7 multiplayer event have worked.. it'll be clear then. If it hasn't I think we'll really see some renewed strength since we'll have shown Bioware that we mean business.

I thought about this as well....but that would just be very stupid of them.....and I don't think they are THAT stupid. I am almost positive there will be post ending DLC but it's possible they will release pre-ending DLC first....which isn't a smart move unless they let fans know that there WILL be post-ending DLC.

We just have to wait and see....and keep holding that line!!:D

Some people are falling for the crap responses Bioware is throwing at us. "You haven't seen the last of Commander Shepard." Goodie? You're probably right. I KNOW I'll see pictures of him between now and some random time in the future. I know you're planning on releasing some form of SP DLC.

But your answer is not the answer to the question we are asking. We want a DEFINITIVE ANSWER. YES, we will get new endings, or NO, we will not. Until you give us a straightforward answer to our query, we will not back down.

And everyone falling for their damage control tactics, stop it. You're making the line weaker.

Note how all the PR strategies rely on outlasting us/hoping we'll go away. If we don't give up, we win. Simple.

It's all about the dollars so the only way to make them listen is to cost them money. The sooner that's clear to them, the better. Don't play the multiplayer. Is sitting out MP for two days really that much to ask, compared to what we stand to gain? Don't buy the DLC. Plan on a boycott if you're dissatisfied and then follow through. We made this community through word of mouth and we can affect change the same way.

No way. It isn't dying down, it is growing! There are plenty of people who haven't beaten the game yet and don't know what all the fuss is. Heck, I just beat it two days ago and found out everyone was as upset about the ending as I was. I have three friends who are planning on beating it this weekend.

In other words - reinforcements are on their way. Just have to make it known. If any game developer would listen to it's fanbase, I'd bet on Bioware.

to be trustworthy needs to be a statement released to major gaming sites that called crap on us like IGN, etc.  otherwise won't have to actually do anything
