Hi all.

Heared there was a line around here somewhere.  Thought I would add another body to it.

Me a few hours into ME3 - This is epic!!  Love it love it love it...
Emotional state - I.AM. KROGAN!

After seeing ending for the first time - But but but...  Why? How? Space magic?  But how is Tali gonna get home...?
Emotional state - i.am.broken

Please BW, have mercy on a broken old Talimancer.  Don't leave them all stranded on a random jungle planet...

Respectfully holding the line.

Welcome to the fight soldier, we all know how you feel.

The way I see it, a new ending to the game, or at they very lease MORE endings to the game is going to happen. Bioware has all but stated directly they are gathering fan input right now. Not sure what Mr. Hudson is going to do, or if he will even be a part of this, but its going to happen.

That being said I would expect a minimum of 2 months of production for quality. If the rush something out quick its going to be little more than text with possible voice overs.

So to that end, our best efforts are to reach a fan consensus on what we, as a community desire in a new ending. Perhaps somebody with more tecchy skill than I, could create some more polls to assist in gathering the most desired features of any "new" ending content.

I a few options of things I would like to see.
1. Much more epilogue, explanation, resolution and closure to the story in a way that make sense. Should pretty much scrap the Normandy crash in "Eden" and come up with something entirely new.
For one your whole squad is in London, so there is no way they are on the Normandy after Shep goes into the Citadel. Throw out this nonsense and give me something that has some logic to it.
One idea would be survivors of the final battle hunkering down on earth, along with your squad in the wreckage of London, as a multi-species community to rebuild and research a new form of interstellar travel.
2. I would like more long-term resolution. What becomes of the Milky Way as a whole. Do the survivors eventually discover a new way to travel between stars? The man and child thing was faaar too vauge to be be reasonable.
3. An ending option that allows for all those little blue babies I was promised. Mass Effect is an Epic anything. Its a classic hero story, so its possible to give it a classic "happy" ending. After all Oddysus returns and reclaims both his Ithaca, and his queen in the end, though he lost much in doing so. An Epic hero does NOT need to die. This goes double if Shepard does indeed live in the already present destroy endings.
3. I want an ending where I can use my reputation to get an "impossible" win out of the catalyst. Or maybe its Shepard who was the catalyst all along. I spend the entire game, and hell the entire series breaking dilemmas with my awesome leadership, so I want an option to refuse to take the Star Child's choice and forge something better.
5. A total failure ending. If you really set up a bad situation and don't gather enough war assets so on, then Shepard fails completely and the Reapers scrub the galaxy clean.

At the very least, if you want to embrace choice, then we need pathways to get a Sacrificial Ending, and totally Victorious ending, and a failure ending (as in you made the wrong choices.)

Cute Lion King picture, but we really shouldn't be posting and reposting images in the thread.

Post links, will be much better because it doesn't risk having the thread shut down :)

Understand the concern, but these are just BBC img tags that retrieve the image from a URL when the page loads, so I'm not sure I understand the problem. No big deal though, and no intent to be argumentative.

Ok, back on board and caught up with what I missed while I was asleep.

Hmm, I get the feeling that while we're holding the line, BW is lining the holes...

Sorry for the bad pun, it's too early for me.

*snip*

Emergency induction ports...I love you Tali :)

But the reason I'm thinking support the indoctrination theory is that it gives them an easy out; they can add on ending DLC that will work, and will cost them less money (making it more likely they'll do it) in the process, rather than re-writing everything.

Just my opinion on the matter; everyone agrees that something must be done :)

......

bringing  the two the sides that want different endings together... a stronger unfied front. Its not like we want different things but  good gracious  that theory smells of PR and Marketing Gimmick that it leaves a not good feeling in my stomach.

I see what your doing  and in the end ...If gets us different endings... I won't go against it.    Just don't expect me just waving the theory around like a banner.   I don't like that theory  and still want my 16 different endings.

So would I, but as you say I would prefer to see the endings changed to something better, period...and these would be better (although, as you say, smells of PR gimmick) and easier...let's hope they pick the harder option =)

Its all one can do  is but  hope.

Hey welcome Death of Seph. Get your gear and find a place on the line. I know what you feel. I've never done anything like this to be honest. Joining a fan movement that is. I thought the outcry was overblown and had to be nitpicking Bioware haters. ME3 was awesome! Then I got to the end. And now I'm holding the line with these guys.

I played Mass Effect mostly for Shepard. Don't get me wrong, I loved the story. But I think that Shepard (or at least, my Shepard) made the story even better. So when I found that Shepard pretty much dies at the end, while I wasn't surprised, I was upset.

But I don't think I would have minded Shepard dying if the endings weren't all exactly the same, whether you were a Renegade or Paragon. I would have been fine with Shepard dying if the endings were more poignant and thought provoking. But it wasn't. It was pretty much, whether you were ill-prepared or not, Renegade or Paragon, Shepard still dies and the ending is sad. (Unless if you count the "Shepard Wakes Up In Rubble" ending)

I figured that Shepard would die, since I think I heard that she/he was analogous to Jesus Christ. But I still hoped that Shepard would survive (or actually witness her survive.)

The different choices felt almost exactly like the endings of Deux Ex: Human Revolution. They weren't all that much different, except that there were differences to the benefits and implications between the endings which ME3 didn't have.

I mean its been 2 days; and Japanese forums exploded on the first day nicknaming it Rent Effect.......that says a lot.

Pacific Fleet knows about war and not giving up; look what happened with NGE ;)  They are major asset.  Don't let them distract you - don't let them bribe you with shinies......

Seems like I missed quite a lot the last 12 hours! The post by Casey at least gives us some hope that it isn't over yet. Same can be said for the feedback thread started by Jessica Merizan. Let's see where that ends up.

Reason while if the forum is flooded with large photos; they can be looked at as spam and the forum locked.

We've worked too hard to be locked now; as the reminder goes; don't post large pics; stay respectful, civil and most of all.

The mass effect universe for me is tainted by the endings (?) of ME3.
Nothing I ever did in the series matters.
I have over 10 Shepards that will now collect dust. I can't play this game, it's futile.

They were like wth is this ending?  Japanese aren't afraid to do bittersweet endings........but they know how to do them; and do them well......

Yeah, I like a lot of Asian movies, becasue the endings are often bittersweet, or just bitter. And nothing I could ever predict. So telling me that I don't understand ME3 ending (like some people seem to think that our group doesn't) is a fist in the face, and insult to my intelligence.

[edit]Still it would be nice to know more what's going on in the differet forums.[/edit]
