So does anyone think BW employees should be worried about layoffs?

I mean a flagship product launches and EA stock is the lowest its been since the EA Spouse debacle. Around the BF3 launch window EA stock had a productive trading period, some of that was holiday trading but a large chunk can be attributed to a highly publicized product launch (BF3).

Here we have another highly publicized product launch (comparable if not greater than BF3s) and the stock hiccups and reaches a local low. Normally at this point its time for "cost saving measures", especially when you have all these employees coming off ME3 and moving on to other projects (in my experience transitions are the best time to fire).

Should the BW employees be worrying about their jobs?

I.. don't know.
I hope not.
Sure, we are angry at them for the ending, but we still need them to fix it.
And I, for one, still hold them dear for everything that was and still is great in the Mass Effect series.

april 6th? when they will announce more mp dlc and a weapons pack? <_<

...Yea, good luck selling those Bioware <_<

Sad that some will jump at the chance to buy it depending on how appealing marketing makes it look. I do wonder what would happen if they only sold say 50-70 dlc content packs. Would that be an eye opener or a minor setback?

*rubs chin*

Some would jump at the chance to buy the dlc
we just have to remind ourselves why we are holding the line.

question: I know we are emailing/snail mailing letters today to let bioware know, but for those of us belonging to multiple gamesites, have we been sharing all of whats happening or are we keeping this all internal. the greatest impact will be felt when this goes viral.

That's why saying its about the journey kind of falls flat. The journey can be a good one heck it can be an amazing one but if the destination fails to deliver and what was the point of going all that way.

case in point this is what Max Payne said:

"They were all dead. The final gunshot was an exclamation mark on everything that had led to this point. I released my finger from the trigger, and it was over".

So while the journey was a good one the destination is where everything  came together and that's exactly what Mass Effect needs an exclamation mark of everything that has lead to that point.

Agreed! At the end you want an exclamation point after which you say "wow, I wanna play it again concentrating on other squadmates, other story archs, make some other decisions etc.".

You definitely don't want to leave the game thinking "what was that all about", "why did my sqadmates leave the battle on the Normandy", "why were squadmates that just ran with me at the citadel and presumably got injured at least suddenly on board of the normandy", "why were the humans in the end alone again when just every race battled on earth with no way out because of the relays destroyed", "why is the reapers destroying evolutioned organic life the cure to otherwise synthetics would destroy organic life"? I just don't understand how the writers of an otherwise great game can come up with such a mess in the end.

Agreed, right up until the last 10/15 minutes this series has been one of the greates works of art, yes, I would call it Art, of all time. Sure, ME2 was a little wonky but you forgave it it's flaws, and wonky for a BioWare game still means that compared to your average game it's still damn good. And then we had ME3, which was brilliant all the way to Anderson and Shepard sitting looking at Earth, right before the whole thing went to Hell in a handcart dragging a bunch of snowball holding kittens behind it.

First one thing, sorry for mistakes in the text, I am not an Englishman but I really want to express an opinion on the matter.

I will not discuss how I was entertained extremely well throughout the series and 99% of ME3 and how this ending completely ruined. Those posts here I think is enough. But I want to appeal to Bioware, but also the fans, there is still time to correct the errors.

If things are dealt with proper communication, there is still possibility to save the series with the fanbase.

Imagine if Bioware announced on Monday, something like this:

"We at Bioware realize the frustration regarding the ending. Our intention was to have a unique game ending. Ending of which will be discussed for a long time. We did not expect it to end like this.
Bioware is known for its huge fanbase and because we would not like to lose it, we decided to do something with it.
In the future you can expect new DLC Ending. There are many excellent ideas on this site but also all around that we can use.
Right now we can not specify when the DLC comes out or details about it. DLC will probably be paid like any other DLC. "

Ok, BioWare will present their plans for Ending DLC. Also, it's not free.

What do you do? Really going to stay mad at Bioware after they have just admitted a mistake?
For me, if something like this happened, I am willing to forget the whole thing.
You know, everyone makes mistakes, but not everyone can admit mistakes.
Let's be straight, it is unrealistic to Bioware began to do free ending for everyone. And certainly not with EA behind his back.

95% of posts in the megathread is civilized. So I think that most players are not Rage blinded fans . They are just frustrated and disappointed. Hey BioWare, you seriously think that something like that would be created if your fans were not really loyal? They want only way out of this. They want back good old Bioware.

So if Bioware announced something like this, what do you think happened?

I think that:

Most fans should be happy. Bioware have admitted a mistake. Fanbase can expect new and better ending.
Fanbase = Win.

Bioware is cleaned in the eyes of most Fans. Most fans will remain loyal.
Bioware has earned a reputation that they are willing to admit mistake and do something with it .
Bioware = Win

rEApers get their money for DLC.
rEApers = Win

They will not get one cent from me till we see a better ending. I did not pay for a collector's edition to feel mind numbing depression and anger at the ending of an otherwise incredible game.

If they had told me from the beginning all the ending would be so convoluted and filled with plot holes I wouldn't have wasted my hard earned cash on it.

I played ME3 because I at least thought they would give you a fitting conclusion to the story (as they have in the last 2). Instead they give no closure and no recourse but to vent your frustrations into the vastness that is the internet.

The only positive part in all this is when my howls of discontent echoed through the forums. It was met by thousands of others, also shrieking in disgust of such a non-original and incomplete end to quite possibly one of the most well loved game series of this generation.

I think it is worth repeating that we should keep things civil and polite.

First, they WANT us to get angry and start raging at them because this weakens our position.

Second to start throwing insults around in VERY unfair to the Bioware staff as a whole. Those BW Staff we have had direct or semi-direct contact with have no influence on if a new ending will be made, nor were they responsible for what we ended up with.

Last of all I, and part of the second point, is that I think we should doff our caps at those BW Staff who have ended up on the front lines, trying to either defend the game or at least ended up trying to do damage control for the mistakes of others. The staff on this board have handled this situation, and us, far far better than we (and quite probably Bioware itself) have given them credit for.
They have only shut this thread down once, and then purely because someone started posting copyrighted images in it - which they removed before opening the thread again. True, some of their 'hands off' approach will have been down to the thread remaining civil - and to a large extent because we have self-moderated to a large degree. But I think we should still thank them for their understanding and the professional and common sense manner with which they have faced the situation.
