The Amazon and Metacritic User ratings are Insanely low
I wonder how different the scores would be if they didn't include the ending in their verdict

Earlier this morning, I posted a comment into a thread about not playing that Operation Goliath Event, I closed with that line... somebody said, that line was getting old...
Well, who cares... no matter, what they say,
I will hold the line!

When the StarChild gave me the 3 choices I stood up and simply wondered what the hell was happening. Then I saw the ending sequence, with the Normandy flying god knows where while I destroy all synthetic life instead of punching that kid to death, and I felt kinda insulted. After that came the gasping metal plate, the credits and the stargazer.
"NOOOOO!!! WHYYY?!!" doesn't completely cover what I felt.
I just re-watched the final episode from Buffy, Chosen, trying to get past this. Didn't really help. Buffy did say to hold the line to Faith though...

Probably because they know it won't go away and they can't ignore it/us much longer.

So please, Bioware, I beg of you: Don't try and turn this into another bait-and-switch ala Dragon Age 2(which I don't think was nearly as bad as some people make it out to be, personally, but it was NOTHING compared to the excellence that was Origins). Don't lead us along with a carrot on a stick only to give us nothing in the end. Please, listen to your fans and give us what we are asking for: Better endings, more options, and a full sense of closure to this excellent trilogy.
So stay strong and stay civil! We will do this right!
Hold the line!
Glad to be here.
Where's the Assets topic for the Retake movement? I wish to add my contribution to the list.

If I accept the premise that the game "had to end this way" it certainly would have been nice if the game itself had built up specifically towards that particular ending. Plus the execution of the endings could have been much better [taking out the God Child and space magic would be a good start].
Either way I'm holding the line and will do so as long as it takes.

I had a dream, a dream in which Bioware had gone back and played the released version of the game and posted;
'Ahh, Crap. Sorry guys it seems that we messed up and shipped out the beta version that didn't include the full ending. Man, are we red faced - we thought you were all throwing a fit over nothing. Even that day one DLC stuff is now explained - it was on the beta version so the testers didn't have to mess around with downloads.
We should be able to fix this with a DLC in the next week, and will be shipping the correct version out to stores around the same time. We'll talk to the distributor's about arranging for free exchanges for those who can't download DLC for what-ever reason.'
*Sighs* Pity I then woke up....
Haha, bummer that would be nice.Cybermortis wrote...

"For the last eight years, Mass Effect has been a labor of love for our team; love for the characters we’ve created, for the medium of video games, and for the fans that have supported us. For us and for you, Mass Effect 3 had to live up to a lot of expectations, not only for a great gaming experience, but for a resolution to the countless storylines and decisions you’ve made as a player since the journey began in 2007. So we designed Mass Effect 3 to be a series of endings to key plots and storylines, each culminating in scenes that show you the consequences of your actions. You then carry the knowledge of these consequences with you as you complete the final moments of your journey.
We always intended that the scale of the conflict and the underlying theme of sacrifice would lead to a bittersweet ending—to do otherwise would betray the agonizing decisions Shepard had to make along the way. Still, we wanted to give players the chance to experience an inspiring and uplifting ending; in a story where you face a hopeless struggle for basic survival, we see the final moments and imagery as offering victory and hope in the context of sacrifice and reflection."
After reading that statement from Casey Hudson I have to ask did he play the game yet?
Ok, clearly he wasn't playing the same game as us.
That ending was not bittersweet, just bitter...

For a proper way to kill of someone, Buffy has to be the perfect example. "The Gift" was an amazing way to do it.
