Completely off topic, but...
For FhemShep players: does anyone else feel like the make up for ME3 was almost nonexistent?
And can BroShep have beard?

Actually I liked it. The makeup was too gaudy in the previous games.

This was the first time I was able to use the pink lipstick on my Shepard without it looking overdone.

Oh, I liked the lipstick. I just thought the eyes made no difference at all. I tried to pick on and they were all...the same. I wonder how it would have looked like if my imported FemShep had her face imported as well.

Ah, yea the eyshadow was worse in this game, while the lipstick and blush looked WAY better.

It was a worthwhile trade off for me, though it would have been nice to have all the ME 2 eyeshadow options as well...

I'm with you there, though my subscription is on a 6 month lease so they have a little bit more time with me. I, however, have not logged in since this mess started. And I'm a guild leader. I've just... not been in the right frame of mind for it :(

It's taken me a few hours, but I've finally caught up to this thread.  It moves so damned quickly B)

I'd like to quote something from the PR thread that I think is relevent to our struggle.  Think of it as a sitrep with sage advice.

KeldorKatarn wrote...

The same holds true here as in every
negotiation. There are trained PR people at work here. They are experts
in double talk, delaying action and deception here. I cannot speak in
PR stuff here, but as a former military I can say you this (and the PR
guy from the first post will most likely agree):

The only viable
strategy for you guys is doing exactly what the other side cannot
handle: Keep the pressure up! DON'T fall in line, don't respond to false
offers of peace.

The strategic position is this. On your side
you have a vast military but still rather disorganized. On the other
hand you have a very well trained and organized but outnumbered army.

The other side is currently in the following position: They are attacked on all fronts but still mostly disorganized so
they,
being better trained, have been able to mostly hold the line for
now. They are also most likely experiencing the first signs of sales
losses, of dropping multiplayer counts and they have predictions on
their tables of dropping DLC sales. In military terms: They are
experiencing attrition effects, they have supply problems. The only
viable strategy in that situation is: Keep your forces together, make
only very thought through moves, do as many delaying and distracting
moves as possible, because that's the only thing where you still have
the advantage: The enemy is unorganized and cannot yet strike as
an organized whole. If that were the case... bye, bye.

So what
you guys have to do now is use YOUR advantages and exploit their
weaknesses. That means: Keep the pressure up and increase it. Organize,
do organized large scale strikes. They have NO way to defend against
those. The more organized you become, the more they will be able to feel
your numbers. They cannot defend against a full-blown strike. They
can only delay you and try to disrupt you. If you don't let them do
that, you'll
win outright.

So the best way to achieve this is
to organize loud protests, organized, and well thought through. Also
don't ever respond positively to ANYTHING but your initial demands.
Don't even think about responding to "maybe"s or "let's talk"s. What you
want is a full surrender; NOTHING else. DON'T stop before they bow down
and literally talk to you on YOUR terms. YOU are the customers. Use
that. This also means:

DON'T play the game, DON'T buy and DLCs
unless they are EXACTLY what you want. They will feel the dropping
numbers, they have Origin. Many people didn't like Origin, but now it is
YOUR weapon. Don't play and the WILL see that. They do have the
statistics. The fewer people order anything, the fewer people use origin
the heavier you are threatening their supply lines.

Kill their
supply lines while holding up the pressure and you WILL win this. But
DON'T ever give in. YOU have the upper hand, DON'T let them take that
away from you.

Also never become angry or uncivil, because
that is another one of their strategies. If you become an angry mob,
they will be able to sell you as such, gathering allies. You don't want
them to be able to do that. Think of this as a war between a rebel force
with huge numbers and the loyalist army of the head of state. If the
head of state manages to picture you in public opinion as an angry mob,
as terrorists or whatever, they might be getting help by powerful allies
(read: the press). If however you remain civil, fight a gallant war and
voice your concerns in a reasonable way, then YOU might be getting help
and in the end the UN might intervene on your behalf (read again: the
press will force them to give in or lose a ****load of money).

Keep this up people. Don't take the pressure of.

The minute you do, they have won.

Edit: To Bioware:

Don't
take this the wrong way. I truly love you guys and I'm a huge fan. But
this thing just won't fly. What you did here was just bad judgment and I
think the best way for you to handle this is to fix this ASAP and maybe
make some money with it (although if I were you, I'd be real careful
with that one).

You have achieved something here that is
really incredible. You should actually be proud of yourselves to some
degree. If you hadn't done a whole lot of things right, people wouldn't
be here complaining. They would sit at home and say "Who gives a
sh*t!?"You have created a franchise that is so wonderful and so loved
that people actually DO care. All you have to do now is make you that
stays that way. And that will not be achieved by PR bullsh*t by the
books. It will be achieved by showing them that this industry is not
just about money and about sales counts and quarterly reports but that
it is still about wanting to give people a great time and about making
people happy with your creations.

Sorry I have to be against you
guys this time. But see it like this... this entire army that is kicking
your nuts right now... if you play things right you'll have all of them
behind you, whenever you need them, in the next war.

I'm really hoping this war will end in a way that benefits both sides in the end.

So long...

So, the take home story from this all?  Keep up the pressure.  No matter what, and though it may seem insurmountable right now, we can do this.

This is the Australian fleet signing off.

Hold the line!

A suggestion I heard that makes sense is to make your malcontent known. Fine, its well established here in the BSN network where we have a half dozen threads on how much we hate the ending. But elsewhere in other big gaming media outlets and companies you need to really put it in their faces that this ending is truly horrible and really really needs to be changed. And not just because we're a bunch of raging fans. But because this thing flies in the face of anything of literary value no matter what genre your in and because Bioware blatantly lied about its bottom line product. I'm going to go post in the IGN boards and forums about this and onto some other media outlets, it'd definitely be a morale boost to see some reinforcements with me to back up my point.

The more of the media you have admitting you might have a point, the greater your chances are to get this changed

I'm going to be frank, as the child of a family who's had and has several ties with military and police departments, it's actually pretty ****ing insulting when people say Shepard SHOULDN'T have the OPTION of a happy ending because

DIS.
IS.
WAR.

Seriously, what the ****? The galaxy has more than enough misery and pain and suffering in it, they're basically implying that people surviving from battles, going back to their loved ones and families and trying to find some sort of happiness and normanlity again is WRONG.

That's a ****ing insult to every soldier who's gone to battle, every cop on the street and every civilian caught in the crosshairs.

I just got in and read the PR stuff and it was an amazing thread. I have to agree with everything being said. My goal, in this movement, is not to destroy Bioware or be mean to the writers or the artists who really worked very hard on an amazing product and probably don't get paid what they should. I emphatize with the team. What I don't agree with the higher powers that decided to sell me an unfinished product. My goal is to save Bioware. I love it. It's my favorite company and if it goes down the way of other gaming companies I'll have fewer video games to enjoy (I only really play RPGs).

I want Bioware to know they created something amazing and got lazy at the end rather than delaying the selling of this product another month or two to create an acceptable ending they chose to give an ending that would have been acceptable on a mediocre product but was not acceptable to a fantastic trilogy. I don't advocate they need to care more about the product then they do about money. It's business. But by caring about the product and delivering something fantastic they make more money than trying to pull this kind of bull**** (aka day one DLC). I have facts on my side. They made mass effect great and it has been a cash cow for them. I have invested probably close to 250$ if not more odd dollars on Mass Effect alone and that good will has extended to their other games as well. If they chose to continue to foster my good will I will continue giving them money.

Does anyone have a link to a nice high res version of maurader shields first to hold the line poster? I need backgrounds for my pc and ipad stat! Feel free to pm me with the link if possible! Thanks in advance.

Second, as I catch up reading all the posts from overnight, I must once again say how honored I am to be a part of this group of gamers. For someone who started back with an atari 2600, I have never seen this kind of unity and more importantly positivity towards a game/cause within our comminity. Thank you for allowing me to hold the line with you brothers and sisters!

Understandable. I know it's highly unlikely that the Indoc Theory is right, and this is probably exactly what the cynical side of me thinks it is - an enormous blunder on the part of BW/EA. Guess I just had to play the other side of the argument for a minute. :)

Either way, I don't support the methods they're using, intentional or not. I just don't want to be forced to give up faith on a company I've loved and supported this long.

agreed.  in some ways though, this is to be expected.  to tell the emporer he has no clothes is never an easy thing. :-)

True there, no one I played WoW with followed me to TOR so I'm good there, though I did try for a while to get my little group to head over, they didn't /sigh

OK at this point that's probably a good thing.

In light of the 1.85 million in the first week for ME 3. ME 2 had over 2 million in that time, and that doesn't even include the PS 3 version that didn't exist. Here it apparently was 22% of the sales. Overall xbox and PC sales for week one was almost 27% less than ME 2, despite the huge marketing campaign.

In other words, our discontent has had an influence.

The lower initial figures might also be related to DA2. There were more than a few people who canceled pre-orders on the basis of than game, opting to 'wait and see' what the people who played the game thought rather than relying on reviewers.

Yes, players can remember things for longer than 10 minutes...especially if they think someone just screwed them over.
