Ok, how polite should i be in my e-mail to bioware?

As polite as you can be.
No bashing at all.
We have to be reasonable.

Should I put in my name or username at the bottom?

I signed with my name. (Oh, and I used my Origins email.)
Maybe you should put both in? Both name and username.

So long as the hold their hands up and admit the mistake they've made, that'll be enough.

But even free DLC to fix this won't ever take away that feeling of betrayal I felt when I realised I'd been had.

Regardless of the truth of what occurred, that crushing sense of defeat and futility will be with me for a very long time and no amount of "Here, have a freebie!" will take it away.

No.  That is the wrong thing to do.  That just validates our supposed immaturity in the eyes of everyone keeping their attention on this.

That was a joke.

Ahaha, don't you worry.
It's good that we know what people are saying about us out there, so we know how to defend ourselves!

Just finished the game a couple of hours ago.

Before hand I thought - "Surely it can't be that bad can it?" Image IPB

Frell me - how wrong I was.Image IPB

After nearly 2000 hours of gameplay spread across all 3 ME games. It comes down to some stupid Starchild that nobody has ever heard any mention of before - let alone seen. Giving you a choice between doors 1, 2 or 3 like some presenter on a quiz show.Image IPB

Christ, that has to be the most disapointing, jarring, tacked on, mockery of an ending that i've ever witnessed.

It makes playing the entire trilogy pointless.Image IPB

Seriously, the moment Shepard starts making the run for the light beam. The game turns into a farce. Image IPB

Somebody at Bioware must be a fan of Gainax, because if there was ever a Gainax ending - this it it.

Oh and on a side note...

Why did they have to go the Earth route to get to the Citadel anyway?  Why not just go to Ilos and use the conduit?

You know, I'm starting to dread that if they do fix the endings, they'll just take care of the plot holes, and nothing else. I mean... yeah, it'd be better than what we have now, but not nearly enough...

I'm not sure they would stick only to that. Countless time we made our point. We want ending that reflect our journey throught ME1 2 and 3. Filling plotholes won't suffice and they know it if they pay just a little attention.

Just tried another play through. I hoped to get the "good" ending this time. After searching every planet in the galaxy etc... still didn't make it. Still just as depressing and confusing.
On the bright side...I got to see the color green. And some great news! I can finaly play as fem Shep. Pardon me while I go write a news article on heart transplants. Anyone here know anything about that? Ah nevermind.. I'll just write.

i was reading this thread a while ago and if you feel like spamming EAs or BIOWAREs email account perhaps we should set up a spam account an a constructive critique account.

that way the constructive critics won't get lost in spam.

Or we can send a real letter...just a thought. You know, something physical they can hold and get burried under lol

So I just posted my thoughts over in the official suggestions thread. Take a look.

Actually made the effort to read through all of this, and I think you did a very good job.

You
eloquently convey the reasons why the ending is bad, by simultaneously
hinting your love for the franchise and your appreciation for the
writing in general.

The one thing that I might add is more feedback regarding how the end should  be. We can't give them any wrong ideas there.
I
too, would be willing to - grudgingly - pay for ending dlc, under the
condition that we would get something that actually measures up to the
series as a whole. In all your talk about promises (some of which I
think weren't actually made) you forgot one of the most important ones
regarding this issue: "16 different endings" - when in fact we got 1.
That's cheap, that's lazy, that's borderline insulting.

All the major decisions in all the games, the surviving crewmembers and allies, and the EMS of ME3 should matter.
I want to see that Volus bombing run. I want to see those living Elcor
Tanks I've saved. I want to see the Thanix cannons that many fleets
equipped due to the Tech I've salvaged do some actual damage. There's so
much that could happen based on what we did.

That's fair. I'm already reworking the post into a letter to mail them. I'll give some more thought about what I'd like to see in the endings, and add that. It'll be in the mail Monday (there's no postal service in Canada on weekends, so I don't know why we're all sending them today...)

As for promises, I was talking more about implied narrative promises rather than explict promises by Bioware to the playerbase.

I've made a new thread in this forum about my emotional experience with ME3: link

What is perhaps more surprising is that I feel better having posted it...but it would be nice to get some opinions from others in the Retake movement (read: us in this thread). :)

Trust me, there's a lot of us that feel your pain. Quite a few people suffered depression afterward, there was even a "5 stages after the end of ME3" image floating around. We're here for you and we will listen, have faith we'll get through.

Welcome to the movement. Remember to stay polite, keep bashing to a
minimum. We're writing letters to BioWare (E-mail and snail-mail) today.
Also, we have our fundraiser. There is also a Facebook page, and a survey... I forget where the survey is.

There is a post from a previous PR guy analyzing what BioWare is saying: here.
This is the post from BioWare wanting our input on the game as a whole(good and bad).
There is news spread all over of varying degrees. Take heart in the fact we're making headway. Hold the line.

That official suggestion thread scares the living daylights outta of me, the quotes are like a page long. Also I feel quite sad for just wishing a happy ending that makes sense when theres like these epic novels posted up by passionate gamers.

I just want to enjoy my games they dont need to present high minded viewpoints of the human condition or anything.

Bad, VERY BAD. Another site posted this yesterday and we wrote in the comments, that he is alone with his opinion.
EVEN WORSE is, when you read the comments, other people think thats the opinion of the whole #RetakeME movement.

Every few pages this needs to be resposted.

http://social.biowar...ndex/10084349/1

Using military jargon, that post is tantamount to all our intel on the enemy's movements and strategies. Without it, we don't stand a chance against their superior tactics.Crowds can be surprisingly easy to control - educated crowds are far, far more difficult to control, or even contain. We have the blitzkrieg on our side - now we need to exercise our combined might. Urge everyone who's concerned about the ending to stop playing ME3, or even the other ME games. I was doing an ME2 playthrough myself but, since it requires an EA login to access my DLC content, I'm going to abandon it until this is resolved. I will show them with the choice of where I spend my free time just how I feel about ME3 and its ending. They will be able to see this.

Don't give in to their faux olive branches. Don't let them derail the conversations. Be civil, but remain on topic. We're not just fighting a war, people, we're changing the goddamn PR game. New PR rules are going to have to be written. But for now, we, the masses, the consumers, the intelligent and mature individuals engaging in a virtuous pursuit, have the upper hand. Don't let them take it from us in a smarmy handshake.

Welcome to the fold, brother! Also, welcome to the pain.

You're right, Gainax ending. There are countless examples of it, but it is not what you expect in a game that makes a big deal out of player choice.
