WE HELD THE LINE.  CONGRATULATIONS! o.

I realize it's still a bit ambiguous, but the fact Kotaku is posting it tells me that it's probably everything we've been asking for. :D

Until I see Origin DL new content the next time log on, I willl take this with a grain of salt.

OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD people if he keeps word then we really did it but i won't leave just yet THE LINE is to comfortable

CALM DOWN.  Nothing is confirmed.  Don't get ahead of yourself until we hear it straight from the horses mouth.

I suggest whoever the owner of our Tumblr portal is, removes the post concerning Kotaku's "view" on Hudson's statement.

Another thing: it might be some fishy tactic of Kotaku into "luring" us to celebrate for something which is not there. They have seemed pretty evil up until now.

Was about to say the same thing.

That's just really going to kick people in the quads if nothing comes of it.

Please, take it down, or amend it to "we shall see if their ambigous promises answer to our demands"

Not alone.

Shall I pack more store brand pop for the line holding?

Haha, yeah, same here.
I am willing to drown my sorrows with melon or watermelon juice though.

A few more thoughts about the immutability of the artwork:

Shakespeare radically revised or even rewrote some of his most important works multiple times. We know this because some earlier editions got published without his permission.

There are 3 versions of Hamlet, of which the first is VERY different from the other two. You may want to google, for instance, for the earlier version of the 'to be or not to be' soliloquy: it's COMPLETELY different. It's also speculated, that there was an even earlier version, possibly co-written with another playwright.

King Lear, likewise, exists in two versions. Present-day editions (and performances) usually combine bits from all known editions; because i) Shakespeare himself never published his works; he never set down 'officially' what his 'exact intentions' were; and plays were likely being revised from performance to performance; and ii) the earliest publications (the unauthorized ones, and the first posthumously-'authorized' publication) are themselves heavy interpretations, that require further 'adjustments' along the way.

Romeo and Juliet is by far the most rewritten play of Shakespeares, maybe even the most of all time.
Its believed that he rewrote it 16 times. 5 of those 16 times were complete rewrites. Due to his patron being upset by the story, if I remember rightly from my creative writing class at Theatre School it had a happy ending to start with, but the lord he wrote it for wanted it to be bleak and wanted the main cast to die.

It was VERY common for playwrights to rewrite whole plays, even Marlow did it I think.
I think the modern culture of pressure and the inability to admit/accept your own and others failures has a lot to do with the lack of people changing their stories/ideas around to improve them.

Please remember people that we are not all perfect, the Mass Effect creators were under a hell of a lot of pressure to do ME3 very fast, I can believe it if they did a lot of 18+ hour days at times. The product they gave us had a hell of a lot of good things going for it and was enjoyed by almost or maybe all of us.
Yes they made a mistake with the end, but they cant fix this over night. I'm pretty sure the developers and everyone else to do with it want to make it so that more people are happy with the end and will change it. The choice to do it will come from higher up, so don't insult or harass people who are as eager to make this right as you.
As for the lack of communication, well they cant say yes we will redo it when they don't know if they can yet. I'd rather they say nothing (or very vague things) than have them say YES we will do it, just to come out and say whoops, we changed our minds.

Be cool, Be kind and don't let any one fall Behind.

Hold up on the line!!

P.S: - Sorry for the rantishness!!

You also forget the theory Shakespear was Marlow  ;)

For the record, cofee is what I usually drink. Wine too but this isn't exactly the time for that.

I just read the article and it's a statement made by Hudson a very little while ago. But I do not see anything regarding a *promise* for new endings, more closure and whatnot.

Me neither. The article title hints at it, but Hudson doesn't.

Let's keep the line people, and don't start wavering in the face of promises.
Words are cheap.
We need to keep this up until the actual release of a satisfactional ending.

Hold the line!

Not going anywhere.. Just figured I'd be a bit more optimistic in my posting, no point depressing the troops.

I'm holding the line till there's a press release saying <insert DLC> will fix endings in Mass Effect 3

Thanks, but no.

I'm well-stocked with Dr. Pepper for line-holding purposes.

Hmm, that just seems like the same statement of his that has been linked here before. It's extremely vague to me. No need to jump the gun.

EDIT: And it *is* the exact same statement. No promises of the kind in there.

No, no, no, and a fourth "no". Nothing is confirmed. Old statement of Hudson's, Kotaku trying to act like oblivious idiots again.

Nothing is confirmed. Nothing has been won or lost. We keep holding the damn line.

Correct, it's just kotaku being kotaku (insert favorite swear word in the second kotaku)

Don't bite that bait yet. It's from here social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/324/index/10089946

Kotaku
has a way of messing things up. If I was not for the fact that I'm such
a civil and deligihtful person I would probably say ALOT of nasty things about them *innocently smiles*[smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/joyful.png[/smilie]

Reposting, stay focused guys.

The craziest of those theories is.....get ready for it.....

that Queen Elizabeth was writing all those plays.

(by the way, all those 'contested authorship' theories are utter BS. Maybe its was CASPER who originated them.)

Just finished the game...

I've been a bioware fan for over ten years and I have never been so disappointed. I honestly think that the Mass Effect series has been some of their best stuff. Characters that I really invested in, worthy, interesting adversaries, a gameplay experience that got better in each game, choices that MATTERED. And there you have it; all those choices meant NOTHING AT ALL In the last ten minutes of the game.

I don't think I've ever been so disappointed by the end of a video game. Didn't anyone look at those ending and think, 'Hmm, some players might just want to save the galaxy and go home to live happily ever after with their love interest?'

Utterly, utterly shocked, Bioware.

Well being as CNN, Kotaku, Examiner and a whole slew of other publications/TV programs were referencing this statement as confirmation of the ending's being fixed I, at the very least, am encouraged.. reporters are a LOT less forgiving when you issue statements to them and then go back on them.  EA will have a real nightmare on their hands if they tick off all of the above.
