EDIT: And it *is* the exact same statement. No promises of the kind in there.
Well being as CNN, Kotaku, Examiner and a whole slew of other publications/TV programs were referencing this statement as confirmation of the ending's being fixed I, at the very least, am encouraged.. reporters are a LOT less forgiving when you issue statements to them and then go back on them. EA will have a real nightmare on their hands if they tick off all of the above.
Yes, but the fact is that is all just spin to get results from searches. The press has hardly been true with us from the word go has it. From reviews of the movement claiming entitlement to those which didn't even play the game. I really wouldn't trust their viewpoint on it at all.
Yes, reporters are less forgiving to people who backtrack, but the statement is sufficiently ambiguous that no backtracking is required. They could bring out DLC where shepard has flashbacks of all the happy times while he jumps into the beam and they wouldn't have lied. Hell, they could bring out DLC where all you get to do have 5 minutes of onboard conversations with each character before you attack earth and still not apologise for backtracking.
It's the press here who are making empty promises, and if they are not doing so on purpose then they are fooling themselves into it instead.
