EDIT: And it *is* the exact same statement. No promises of the kind in there.

Well being as CNN, Kotaku, Examiner and a whole slew of other publications/TV programs were referencing this statement as confirmation of the ending's being fixed I, at the very least, am encouraged.. reporters are a LOT less forgiving when you issue statements to them and then go back on them.  EA will have a real nightmare on their hands if they tick off all of the above.

Yes, but the fact is that is all just spin to get results from searches. The press has hardly been true with us from the word go has it. From reviews of the movement claiming entitlement to those which didn't even play the game. I really wouldn't trust their viewpoint on it at all.

Yes, reporters are less forgiving to people who backtrack, but the statement is sufficiently ambiguous that no backtracking is required. They could bring out DLC where shepard has flashbacks of all the happy times while he jumps into the beam and they wouldn't have lied. Hell, they could bring out DLC where all you get to do have 5 minutes of onboard conversations with each character before you attack earth and still not apologise for backtracking.

It's the press here who are making empty promises, and if they are not doing so on purpose then they are fooling themselves into it instead.

I still have not seen a single link or article concering the alledged report made on CNN. I will hold nothing true if I haven't seen clear and legit proof.

Well I was the one who heard it.  Take that as you will.

It was on CNN Domestic TV during the 1500EDT hour.  They discussed Silent Hill's new game, Mario Party 9, couple other games and ended off with a 2 minute segment on Mass Effect 3's ending 'most likely being fixed' and a talk about the BSN.  I'll admit the reporter didn't have a clue about the game (she was more excited for Mario Party 9 than anything haha), but the tech correspondent she was talking to spoke in fairly good detail about the polls and forum discussions.  (No mention of Child's Play though)

http://transcripts.c...2012.03.17.html <- it'll show up there assuming they transcribe those sorta things, not sure when but if it does it'll be there.. you could also call them and ask if you're really skeptical... I'm sure they'd confirm the segment.  http://www.cnn.com/f...newsroom&hdln=1 Or contact them there and ask about it.

Huzzah! Whilst this from Casey Hudson still sounds ambiguous it is a glimmer of hope! There seems to have been a switch around in the media about who is 'entitled' and 'spoilt'.
If this turns out to be true and we WIN, then I can't think of a better group of people to have done it with. *Raises glass* Cheers!

Just take it with a pinch of salt.

Just finished the game...

I've been a bioware fan for over ten years and I have never been so disappointed. I honestly think that the Mass Effect series has been some of their best stuff. Characters that I really invested in, worthy, interesting adversaries, a gameplay experience that got better in each game, choices that MATTERED. And there you have it; all those choices meant NOTHING AT ALL In the last ten minutes of the game.

I don't think I've ever been so disappointed by the end of a video game. Didn't anyone look at those ending and think, 'Hmm, some players might just want to save the galaxy and go home to live happily ever after with their love interest?'

Utterly, utterly shocked, Bioware.

Thanks for posting.  Welcome to the fleet.

"But we also recognize that some of our most passionate fans needed more closure, more answers, and more time to say goodbye to their stories"

I didn't need more time to say goodbye. I just wanted one option where i could see Shep alive and reunited with her people.

Even if at the end the 2 crew members that were with us in the last mission haul Shep out that rubble so they could look at the now empty sky together. That would have been enough. (oh and take out the stupid crashed Normandy bit).

It's incredible how the same identical statement that pissed off a lot of people is not giving many hope... for no reason! Shame on the people taking advantage of this...

Keep civil and hold the line! Nothing new has been revealed! Don't lose focus...

The craziest of those theories is.....get ready for it.....

that Queen Elizabeth was writing all those plays.

(by the way, all those 'contested authorship' theories are utter BS. Maybe its was CASPER who originated them.)

ive just finneshed composing my email to bioware what do you think

Dear bioware
I am a fan of bioware games in general and mass effect in particular, I have been playing it from the beginning.
It is a fabulous game series and the first 2 games are are in my personal top 5 games of all time .
When I started mass effect 3 I expected it to be amazing and it was, it was even better than I'd hoped .
The character interactions were wonderful and I even enjoyed the new multiplayer that was until the last 10 minutes or so,
which was so full of plot holes, inconsistencies and faulty logic it was unbelievable.

1) How did Anderson reach the control panel before me.
2) Where did the illusive man come from.
3) How could I breathe outside the citadel.
4) Why does the Evil reaper child appear as the child.
5) Why can't I argue with it
6) Why do I have to make 1 of 3 choices that utterly doom the galaxy even more completely than the reapers could
7) How is creating an army of synthetics to wipe out most organic life to stop synthetics from wiping out organic life a good idea
8) I managed to secure peace between the quarians and the geth I also encouraged edi to become more independent to the point where she chose to alter her core programming to value love over self preservation which renders the Evil reaper child's point moot anyway
10) Why was joker running away from the battle
11) How did the 2 squad mates I brought on the last mission get back aboard the ship
12) It was established in arrival dlc that if a mass relay blew up it would destroy the entire solar system it was in

There were however other problems that didn't relate to plot holes.

1) we're left with more questions than answers
2) the end doesn't fit with the rest of the series
3) shepard simply wouldn't bow down to the evil reaper child
4) we are left with no idea what happened to anyone or anything
5) in the end nothing we did mattered, all civilisation is doomed
6) nothing about the reapers origins is explained
7) the bit at the absolute end with the guy telling the kid the story makes no sense
8) after all the effort both shepard and the players have put in we deserve at least a chance at a relatively happy ending not one where the absolute best case scenario is all civilisation doomed the whole fleet you brought with you to earth trapped and all the good work you did uniting the galaxy to be in vain

The only way I see it, to keep the old ending is to accept the indoctrination theory and make everything after getting hit by the beam a hallucination.
Thank you very much for reading this and I hope you make the right choice.

Yours faithfully
taymorr

I just went over the gameinformer website to let them know that we do not support the person that started that lawsuit. They are portraying the entire movement in a very bad light over there over that person's actions. I would really suggest everyone here do the same thing so that everyone there does not get the wrong idea about us. http://www.gameinfor...#commentmessage
