So we can't get the ending we want after all?

Please support our message:At the thread here:
- The game's ending to meet what we were promised as consumers.
- The game's ending fails to meet our expectations as fans.
- The response from BioWare needs to change.
- We have jobs, families, responsibilities. We dedicate our time to this cause because we genuinely care about Mass Effect and its story.
- We want to see a product that we, as human beings, as consumers, as fans, and as players can be proud of.

Hey, guys, I have a question for whoever feels qualified to answer.
First a confession - I didn't have time to get a letter ready to mail today. I'd still like to write one, but at this point, it won't go out until Monday morning.
Should I still bother sending it then, or have I kind of missed the boat anyway?
It's highly unlikely that all these letters will arrive at the same time. What matters is, that they arrive

So, in the interest of upholding the most recent update to the initial post of
http://social.biowar...ndex/10084349/1
That thread, we should come up with some agreed-upon bullet points for what our message is. Here's my proposal.
- The game's ending to meet our expectations as consumers.
- The game's ending fails to meet our expectations as fans.
- The response from BioWare needs to change.
- We have jobs, families, responsibilities. We dedicate our time to this cause because we genuinely care about Mass Effect and its story.
What do you guys think?
- We want to see a product that we, as human beings, as consumers, as fans, and as players can be proud of.
Yes, it's a great idea to articulate our complaints in this concise manner.
BUT
I think the formulations in this list are a little too 'subjective'. 'Our expectations', '...need to change', '...can be proud of...' these aren't concepts with exact meanings, or precise criteria for application.
So I'd suggest a more pedantic route: Let's NOT talk about our expectations at all. There's one point that must be made in a very cold, impersonal, utterly objective way: And it's that the 'ending' simply does not make sense; it's incongruent with the rest of the game, and ridden with ludicrous plot-holes.
The only expectation of ours that is relevant here, is that of a complete product. We weren't given one. We can explain why what we have at hand is incomplete.
Let's try to find concise formulations of these issues----making an 'objective' claim about certain facts out there, rather than our subjective responses. We can do this; we've been doing it for two weeks!!!

There's still time to send it via email. That's what I did. I think sending it today is important to show unity.

The most updated version is "fails to meet what we were promised as consumers".
I was trying to keep something that is not only concise but also expressive of our feelings. We were, in fact, promised certain things that, as consumers, they failed to deliver. As fans, we'd had expectations about the awesomeness of the story.

Nice.
That should be the view that Bioware gets when hosting their panel at PAX, but with everyone wearing hold the line t-shirts.

Ooh, good point. Maybe I'll do that too, but I really want to send a paper letter.
Well, I'll send it anyway, then- y'all are right, they can't all arive the same day anyhow and surely I'm not the only one who will have a slightly different postmark.

Btw, I know it's not very good, I never bothered getting any decent software for art.
I'd definitely buy a Marauder Shields t-shirt.
Maybe those should be the uniform of the PAX East Platoon... can a higher-res version of that be made?

And in the end please tell me if the peace between Quarians and Geth lasts or if the Krogans will once again rise, just like the Rachni. These are all decisions you had to take. But after the Reapers are defeated, there isn't really anything to hold them together, so please tell me if my decisions really ensured galactic peace.
When I watched the last episode of Band of Brothers I was also sad, but sad that it was over. But the ending at least told me what happened to the people after the war.

In other news, has the Child's Play donation fund passed 60,000 yet?

Well Jessica's part of the BW PR team and she's awesome.. I've had no real problems with the PR team which means IF they're being shady super spies, they're doing a good job and not slipping up. Personally I prefer to see the good in people and hope they're not.
Also I'm perfectly fine dangling the carrot for EA. You give us our endings and I guarantee we'll be just as passionate PUSHING Mass Effect 3 for you as we are raging about it. I mean think about it, we just raised $60,000 in less than a week. I KNOW I'm going to buy every DLC available if they fix the ending. I -love- Mass Effect. I'll also be on my facebook pushing it til everyone in my friends list screams at me to go away haha.
As Forbes noted in one of their first articles on the movement, EA/BW has a perfect opportunity to make themselves out to be a reasonable company and gain good will. Changing the ending and making it a free DLC (and possibly donating to the charity) would win them a fair amount of good will, which could pay off in the long term.
The alternative is a DLC we have to pay for, which would solve the immediate problem but probably wreck most of their customer base in the long term.
The very worst thing they could do is...nothing. That will effectively destroy their core customer base in one move over night.

Easily. I lowered the res as I was going to post it in the thread, then thought someone might got librarian poo so made it smaller.
Resizing also helped smooth of my incredibly rough edges.

Yes, but that should come at the very end. We don't want them to go: "How the hell are we supposed to know what's 'awesomeness' for you. What we've delivered as enough 'awesomeness' for us".
That's why I'm saying, we ought to keep it objective; like a police report or something.
The product that they sold us, is incomplete. That's the core issue at the moment. Let's not mix in sentiments too much into it right now.

Oh, I have an image in my head!
You know those cheesy scenes in movies in which someone kneels while holding a sword, and says something along the lines of "Here, have this sword! It shows how much we trust you!"?
You could something like that, with someone holding just a line, saying "Here, we trust you to hold the line.".
If it's possible to do something like that, of course.
those ideas are pretty brilliant.
