I enlisted 3/9 (when I finished the game)

Finished the game on the 9th and started posting then too, just like you.

Finished on the 8th and been pissed/posting ever since. Not every day posts, but checking.

I had been lurking for the onset of the thread before the game was even released. I couldn't believe that it was truly going to be as empty and bitter of an ending. But after going to the midnight release and beating the game in the early hours of the morning of the 7th, I knew that I needed to make my voice heard. I didn't play through multiple playthroughs of two amazing games for the third amazing game (and subsequently series) to be ruined in five minutes. Until we get answers or change, I will hold the line.

I've been holding the line since before there was a line to hold. I was part of the spoiler group who knew everything before the game even came out. We knew a day like this would come, and we expected a negative reaction... however...

Never did we expect the reaction to be this strong, or on such a grand scale!

Hold the line!

When there was leak before the game came out, though there was no line back then. Then I played it for 24 hours straight and came back here.

This actually gave me a weird idea, maybe we should try and get as many different countrymen/women to do like their launguage of what the english version will say, and have them like at the end or something....okay I'm not all that creative so this is probably just stupid.

14th..got my uk copy on Fri and started playing than. Got over 6000 war effort points. Full side quests. Ash as love interest. Full paragon. Loyal.all members from both all games loyal. 40 hours and a bit. I'm a completist. So imagine my horror watching those endingssaved galaxy. Made peace. Got all races reunited for all this to be meaningless and negeted at the end.
Just left empty.
never have an ending been misjudged so badly.
If we were test audience testing a film thus ending would have bee changed ASAP by production company.
It is very dissapointing.
But I know that we are too big. Too organized
And too powerful.
Those endings will change.
Holding the line.

Jump to around the 7 minute mark.

Remember when Shepard was invincible? When he defied the odds? When Saren told him "You can't win!" to which Shep replies "Watch me."

Every time I watch this, I remember how EPIC that whole battle was...

Then I remember ME3's ending.

And I cry.

Staying positive that we can get Bioware to give the series an ending it deserves. An ending that at least makes sense and is true to the spirit of the franchise. An ending free of massive, entirely obvious plot holes and 11th hour deus ex machina plot devices.

Hold the line.

No, that is a good idea. We would only need different languages, so not just english and german. If people are interested in such a project, please write me a PM. Then I will consider putting something up if it is positive enough feedback. Just a PM please. It would be lost in this thread.

And please, state your language.

It's so weird for me... I have a moderate (in some cases severe) stutter. I can't tell jokes most of the time because I stutter so bad, but I had to take a speech course in college. I thought I was going to bomb.

Darnedest thing, I don't stutter at all when giving a speech. I aced the class, haha.

So the endings were the same as the leaked script in November?

And that goes into my slideshow when I get around to making it Monday.

For me, it's just a matter of getting enough practice reciting what I've got written in my normal speaking voice so my brain doesn't work faster than my mouth....this causes me to stutter :P  I leap too far ahead what I want to say to quickly, thinking three lines ahead before I finish with the first.

WHITFIELD: OK. And finally, some controversy surrounding the end to Mass Effect 3 from Bioware. What's going on?

SALTZMAN: Right. So Mass Effect 3 is the third and final game in this epic sci-fi role-playing game series that we have talked about on this segment in the past. So people are complaining about the ending. In fact, there's a poll at the Bioware forums online that 89 percent of the people were not happy with the ending.

Some are saying you don't have enough choice. Some are saying it's anti-climactic. I don't want to give away any spoilers here. But suffice it to say that this might be the first time in video game history that the gate developers will release an update, some downloadable content that's optional that could change the ending of the game to please their fans.

There's been some buzz that this is what the developers will do, that you'll have more choice on how the ending of this, you know, very anticipated game plays out at the end, at the climactic conclusion. So kind of is very interesting to follow this. Because Mass Effect 3 fans are not happy with the way the current game ends.

WHITFIELD: My goodness.

SALTZMAN: This will be a first if they actually change the ending. WHITFIELD: Oh, and it appears as those these video games really are appealing to the more adult audience, or at least the bigger kind of kid, young adult audience for sure, Mark.

SALTZMAN: Absolutely. The average age of a gamer in the U.S. is 35 years old.

WHITFIELD: Oh, my gosh.

SALTZMAN: Believe it or not, which is probably twice that you'd expect of an average age of a gamer. But, you know, as we grew up jumping over barrels and chomping dots and chasing ghosts and now we're having kids and we're still craving interactive entertainment. So there is something for everyone.

WHITFIELD: Wow. So almost the middle-ager crowd. All right.

SALTZMAN: That's right.

WHITFIELD: Mark Saltzman, thank you so much. Appreciate it.

I've been, for the last hour, working on a youtube video (well, audio file that will have pictures relating to the movement displaying while it's going) that basically sums up the movements position, and my own personal observations.

Unfortunately, what talent I had for public speaking when I was younger seems to have departed me...that, and it's late, so I can't speak in my normal speaking voice (it isn't so much loud as that it carries extremely well). So, that project is on hold for now >.<

We should ask Morgan Freeman to do the narration.  Or offer to put up bail for George Clooney in exchange for it *snickers*

No worries though, my public speaking, although improved over my teen years, still sucks haha.

What are you saying in it by chance? Btw I think a video that states our opinion that we can all point to and hold up is a great idea.

Well first, I go into how the FTC complaint is one person and not supported by the movement.  I mean, unless that's changed, that's the last thing I saw.

I then go into why we aren't being 'entitled' or 'spoiled', using an example non-gamers can understand, as well as how mature and civil everyone's being about this.  I also mention the charity, and bring up the fact that if every time a group of people became...uh...disatisfied with a product they made a petition attached to a charitable donation (rather than engaging in a flame war), charities as a whole would be better off.

I also make it clear that we haven't been bashing, harassing, or insulting Bioware staff.

I also point out the flaws in the 'it's art, so you can't change it' argument, and explain in this part generally how we were, if not lied to, then mislead by all the interviews and such leading up to the game

This ties into my 3rd point, about why we dislike the endings so much.  I explain the logic problems, the problem where every choice we made doesn't matter in the end, the character problems with this, and the cookie-cutter approach to the supposedly 16 different endings.

Then, as my final point, I talk about the so-called bad precedent that Bioware would be setting (listening to paying customers and loyal fans? How HORRIBLE! *gasp*), and then generally try to end it on a positive note.

Wow that sounds great, can't wait to see it. :)

In light of the recent news media coverage, I've been trying to get onto The Daily Show's forums and post something about Retake Mass Effect, citing the articles, Child's Play and these forum threads.  Jon Stewart has stated many times how big of a geek he is (plays video games, loves Star Wars, etc)

Unfortunately,  I am having trouble accessing their forums.  Either they're down or they require some weird authorization, I dunno.

If anyone here is able to do what I have not been able to do, please feel free to present our story there and get the message out.
