Remember when Shepard was invincible? When he defied the odds? When Saren told him "You can't win!" to which Shep replies "Watch me."
Just watched it, always gives me the shivers. When I first played ME1 and got to the ending, I thought "Oh god, another game where the hero has to die?". And then Shepard is alive with the awesome music. One of the most memorable gaming moments for.

Giving a speech encourages you to raise your voice above normal, it has the same effect as singing for people who stutter.405thRazgriz wrote...
It's so weird for me... I have a moderate (in some cases severe) stutter. I can't tell jokes most of the time because I stutter so bad, but I had to take a speech course in college. I thought I was going to bomb.
Darnedest thing, I don't stutter at all when giving a speech. I aced the class, haha.

And that goes into my slideshow when I get around to making it Monday.
For me, it's just a matter of getting enough practice reciting what I've got written in my normal speaking voice so my brain doesn't work faster than my mouth....this causes me to stutterI leap too far ahead what I want to say to quickly, thinking three lines ahead before I finish with the first.
Your doing a slide show? awsome! you putting it on youtube or something? i would gladly give surport!

In light of the recent news media coverage, I've been trying to get onto The Daily Show's forums and post something about Retake Mass Effect, citing the articles, Child's Play and these forum threads. Jon Stewart has stated many times how big of a geek he is (plays video games, loves Star Wars, etc)
Unfortunately, I am having trouble accessing their forums. Either they're down or they require some weird authorization, I dunno.
If anyone here is able to do what I have not been able to do, please feel free to present our story there and get the message out.
Give me the link, and I'll do it. Been doing a lot of typing for this type of thing since the movement started.

I've been holding the line since before there was a line to hold. I was part of the spoiler group who knew everything before the game even came out. We knew a day like this would come, and we expected a negative reaction... however...
Never did we expect the reaction to be this strong, or on such a grand scale!
Hold the line!
I avoid spoilers, I thought that it would just minor little things but what we got in this endings. I never thought it would be this bad...
Same here with avoiding the spoilers. I went into complete media blackout in November after I saw the news that the script was leaked. Didn't check any gaming sites, didn't watch BW Pulse (which I'd been checking every few days before that), didn't watch any of the videos or even go on the wiki while working on fanfiction.
Now I look back at those months of trying to keep myself from spoiling anything and wonder, was it even worth it?

So the endings were the same as the leaked script in November?
In regards to the ending, the leaked script is about 1:1. There are some slight differences, but the outcome is still the same. One annoying thing though:
Originally, Javik played a much larger role (like, he was a KEY plot-point). It's a shame he was reduced to DLC...

I tried this thursday to play my second play though... I got up to the part of warning Miranda about lang, Then thought to myself waits the point. Your still gonna die, everyone is gonna die. I sat there for a moment and turned it off and i haven't been back since. I'm 38yrs old and the ending sparks disappointment and depression. It's like getting punched in the stomach over and over again. No game ending has ever made my feel like this EVER. This forum has helped me out alot and knowing im not alone. I will not buy any DLC for this game or play mp for that matter, Until the ending is fix. So now i have a $80 dollar CE collecting dust and a hole in my heart.... Still holding the line!
...funny, in my game Miranda survived ^^

Giving a speech motivates someone to be better then normal.
On Drachenfest, a 4000 people LARP event, I usually give speeches with my Kirkwall templer char. It really encourages me to get out of myself to impress everyone.

If you want someone for public speech, considerme. I am not a native speaker, but I am certainly not bad at it. Just in case you need help.
This actually gave me a weird idea, maybe we should try and get as many different countrymen/women to do like their launguage of what the english version will say, and have them like at the end or something....okay I'm not all that creative so this is probably just stupid.
No, that is a good idea. We would only need different languages, so not just english and german. If people are interested in such a project, please write me a PM. Then I will consider putting something up if it is positive enough feedback. Just a PM please. It would be lost in this thread.
And please, state your language.
I agree, that would be a good idea - the whole 'We speak in many languages, but with one voice' thing.
Ok, please don't shoot me for that line....

I have a question for everybody here: How long have you guys been holding the line?
I enlisted 3/9 (when I finished the game)
Also, we are soon overtaking the longest thread (miranda thread with 1703 pages)
I may add, that I also will write some huge forum post in the "official" I don't like the ending thread, but first I need sleep.
For everyone who lost hope, read the thread (or first post in it) about the PR damage control featuring atghunters posts. Worth a read.
Just don't forget, the people working at bioware and EA are still humans, and to be exact, THE humans who actually gave birth to the Mass Effect universe we all learned to know and love.
