Well I don't think it's about what we want, it's about what's right, and the current endings are just not right
Yeah, I've been saying that all day....

And your assumption would be incorrect, it's bloody amazing how calm and well behaved most have been considering the boiling passion inside them, it's been some time since I've seen anyone post with outrage.JudgeOverdose wrote...
I fully realize that this post will get lost in 1683 pages of what I can only assume is mostly outrage.

We got a mention on a CNN radio broadcast I believe.

I'm surprised folks aren't talking about the CNN report that came out --- or is that old new now?. They have a segment where they review video games and 75% of the review was taken up by talking about the ending and the retake ME movement.

You spend this whole game being told that your decisions matter, and that they will impact everything.... and then at the end, you get the exact same ending with the illusion of choice.
Please for the love of (whatever it is you believe in) stop promising unique endings if all paths lead to what is essentially the same point no matter what you do.

I wrote this in the Amazon.com reviews for the game
Imagine, if you will, that you were running a marathon. Imagine that you had spent years training for that day, putting your heart and soul and energy into it.
Now, imagine that the day of the marathon, your loved ones are there cheering you on. That feeling of joy and pride washes over you as you take off, every mile pumping your adrenaline, forcing you to go on. And you feel good. No... you feel SATISFIED!
Finally, the end is in sight! The finish line is just on the horizon! You push and you run. It gets closer and closer. You are now ten yards away! Finally, the feeling of accomplishment you will feel when you cross that line will finally come!
And then, at the very last minute, someone leaps from the crowd and cripples both your kneecaps with a softball bat...
That is what the experience of Mass Effect 3 is.
Until the very last moment, the game seems nearly perfect. The atmosphere, gameplay, and story seem to be everything we have been waiting for in order to complete Commander Shepard's story. But then, you hit the last ten minutes and it's a slap in the face. After you watch the final (nonsensical) cutscenes, you feel as if you've been betrayed and from that point on, the game no longer has any replay value whatsoever. I loved Mass Effect 3 but now all that sticks out in my mind is that terrible ending. It's difficult to say anything else that has not already been said. When the game is good, it's great and then it pulls the chair out from under you at the very last minute.
