This is important: Which size box? We need ALL THE COLORS!

The 17th is getting shot by TIM in the citadel, which is probably the best because you dont have to deal with god kid

I would like to think being shot by Marauder Shields is actually the 17th..... He's actually got our backs, TIM's just kind of a dick....

In that case there are more than 17 endings...we're going to need more colors

I'll get my crayons.

You only need the brown one. Because technically its all BS!

someone help me, why did I raise my war assets so somewhat over 6800? I mean, what difference does it make to let's say 5200?

Sadly....there isn't a difference.

So basically, an entire part of the gameplay is invalidated?

Sorry for the late response!

To answer your question: Pretty much. You need 4000+ to save Earth (I think) and 5000+ to keep Shep alive ....and that's it. My TMS was 7100+ and I am almost positive I would've had the same ending if...(using your example)....my TMS was 5200. So yeah, it's very disappointing and certainly after 5000+ TMS, there isn't any point in gathering more war assets for the sake of changing the outcome.

I was fine with the ultimate sacrifice and kinda expected it, but the part that set me off was after the beam was sent, every relay was destroyed! And according to head scientist in the Arrival DLC, every relay destroyed is like a supernova going off. I f***'ed up Earth, every major race's system, stranded countless colonies from supplies, (probably) destroyed the galactic fleet, AND stranded the Normandy and crew on an unknown planet! 0_0
Umm...cue epic credits?

Welcome to huge major plot hole #10.

This fact is hilarious.  Not only did the writers think it was a good idea to have an AI (god child hologram thing) controlling synthetics to kill organics so synthetics dont kill organics.  (Which is mind numbingly stupid.)  But they also thought it was a good idea to doom the entire universe - thus almost entirely invalidating the whole point of stopping the Reapers:  So galactic civilization could continue and grow.

Guess we'll see where they're at in another 50,000 years.  (sigh)

Guys -

Watch this video immediately.  This dude's idea for what the ending should've been is absolutely amazing.  Skip to about 13:40 if you just want to hear his idea for a better ending - beginning part is mostly thoughts on the dark energy bit that got cut and other stuff.  Still good.

Check it out.

There are different sizes!? The smallest size will probably be enough to add 5 more endings.

I fully realize that this post will get lost in 1683 pages of what I can only assume is mostly outrage. Simply put, they Dragon Age II'd us. You spend this whole game being told that your decisions matter, and that they will impact everything.... and then at the end, you get the exact same ending with the illusion of choice.

Please for the love of (whatever it is you believe in) stop promising unique endings if all paths lead to what is essentially the same point no matter what you do.

With all due respect, no they didn't.

Dragon Age II was never about your choices defining the outcome, though how you approached the ones that were available certainly played a part in the endgame. I realize that my views are in the minority, but for me that game was a very well-executed allegory for how life just plows on. The Hawke family saga wasn't about overcoming impossible odds, it was about survival and attempting to make your way in a world ready to tear itself apart at the seams.

In my opinion, Hawke herself is the posterchild for the old saying "those best suited for leadership are those who have never sought it, but instead have it thrust upon them and find, to their great surprise, that they wear the mantle well."

Okay, so it's not so old.

BioWare games are very frequently touted for the player's decisions having an impact, and with both games it was implied, or stated outright that the ending you received would be a result of the choicees you made. While I appreciate your perspective, I played Dragone Age II when it came out, I read and listened to the advertisements, and I know BioWare's reputation pretty well. With all that said, I very much recall feeling like the decisions I made would have an impact, and guess what? They didn't. Hence the term, "they Dragon Age II'd us."

While you may not have experienced this, I went into both games cold; I did not receive notification that my choices would be meaningless in the end of either game. I was mislead both times, and I am ashamed to say that I am disappointed in the direction BioWare appears to be taking. The company's name has been associated, in many peoples' minds, with choice and consequence, and the ulimate answer in the last two games is that while your choices matter to you, the end is the same, and therefore there is no consequence; there is only choice.

In the end, though, people don't come here to listen; they come here to talk, and complain. I have my perspective, you have yours, and each and every other individual has their own. In short: I respectfully disagree, but as with the endings to both of the aforementioned games, that changes literally nothing.

Take care.

Well, thankfully the space magic kept all the planetary systems intact.  Otherwise Shepard would have been a legend, The MASSacre of the Milky Way.

Irony - a red cross disaster relief commercial lead into that video.  I thought it was appropriate, being as Mass Effect's ending was an unmitigated disaster ;P

The whole synthetics killing organics so that organics wont create synthetics that kill organics could have made sense. If they built it as the reapers are AI's that went insane, but as it is its fail.

I didn't read the article yet but just the name of it... We were led to believe that Shepards story would be concluded in this game.

Singularity theories are, in my opinion, fear mongering of idiots. Although I admit we've had some good franchises come out of it like Terminator, it completely spits on the advancements we've made a species, as cultures, and as individual people. World violence is statistically lowering, but a singularity theory delves into the idea that "the AI views us as a barbaric threat" or that it is saving us from ourselves. We're slowly but surely advancing at our own pace... singularity theory = don't bother doing that.

It's anti-science bull crap and I hate it.. I really, really hate it.

Yeah ALL the colors... Not just red, green and blue xD... Speaking of colors... Why wasn't there a purple choice? o-O I wanted an ending where a purple beam goes from relay to relay and turns everyone in the galaxy into purple chickens... OF DOOM! Then I'd have my purple chicken army so I could defeat the reapers ^-^ "I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested" O-O
Hmm...
Hold the squiggly line!
