So we can't get the ending we want after all?

Then I began to follow threads like these, and all the events that have happened since the release of the game. I've been a follower of Bioware since it's first games, and there's not been a release or DLC i've not bought in support of them. Even Dragon Age 2 was something I accepted as, while not perfect, an adequate game. I wrote off my unease with the game as not worth it.
But all this has reminded me of something i'd really forgotten over the past few years. There comes a point where you have to stand against what you disagree with. Not with rage, or anger, but with a civil expression of protest. Too often, i've found myself accepting compromises because that was easier and I felt protest wasn't worth the effort.
Seeing all that's happened though? I finally feel revitalized. The endings of this game? It's not okay. It's not what we were promised. It's not what I want as a consumer. So it's time to finally stand up and hold the line. No matter what anyone tells you, it's not over until we admit defeat.
To conclude, once again, thank you to everyone who stood up when I didn't have the strength or drive to do so. You've inspired me to stand with you - And the fight has just begun.

We're slowly but surely advancing at our own pace... singularity theory = don't bother doing that.
It's anti-science bull crap and I hate it.. I really, really hate it.
I think fear mongering of idiots is a good way of putting it. Singularity theory isn't a bad idea as far as narrative fiction goes, but it's old. The way that the people at Bioware approached this theory was not new and it only helped them sink ME3's ending. I would have been okay with that little brat if he his whole basis for being wasn't a poorly written cop out.
Thing is, it was made worse because they went full on for the singularity theory after you potentially disproved it entirely with the geth.

Come on Bioware! we are trying to save your image! we are trying to save your franchise that you guys worked so hard for 5 years! ultimately I would be really sad to hear someday when people will say "I won't pull Mass Effect on you". To hear someone saying that to a thing that I was emotionally attached to would be devastating.
Now that we have been realized by CNN (even though it was a small seg) it will HAVE to be changed. Their entire name rides on how well they come out with the new ending or a new ending at all. At this point I bet a new ending will come out...still can't play any Mass Effect games until its changed.
Same here. Well, I can't play Mass Effect because my Xbox is actually home and I'm 16hrs away from home, so...
I wouldn't play it either way. I can't even play other Bioware games; I have DA:O and DA2 on my computer, and I haven't played it in a long time.
I do think they will release it. There is too much pressure, from us and now from the media. They all took Casey Hudson's statement was "we will make a dlc" and they are all waiting for Bioware to announce a release date. If they don't, the media will be sad and their image...well, it won't get better.

This pisses me off.
I didn't read the article yet but just the name of it... We were led to believe that Shepards story would be concluded in this game.
They blatantly lied to us.
Possibly... But maybe you and everyone else here had a hand in making that change. I think maybe this is true.

I was fine with the ultimate sacrifice and kinda expected it, but the part that set me off was after the beam was sent, every relay was destroyed! And according to head scientist in the Arrival DLC, every relay destroyed is like a supernova going off. I f***'ed up Earth, every major race's system, stranded countless colonies from supplies, (probably) destroyed the galactic fleet, AND stranded the Normandy and crew on an unknown planet! 0_0
Umm...cue epic credits?
Ah but you did it to an epic triumph musical score. That makes it all better... <_<
And colors! Don't forget the primary colors!
And no, I wasn't fine with the ultimate sacrifice. Sorry.

Locked in on the part where he says "over the next year" in reference to DLC development that with have an impact on the ending.
Assuming this is even true, and assuming that the endings will be appropriately applied based on our choices, from worst ending to perfect, there's the lingering question:
How long will people wait for this little project he claims he is doing by using our feedback? Anger is spreading like the Mass Relay destruction in that absurd ending. Hardcore fans and people who know nothing about the series - and everyone in between - most are angry. What can we even expect? Currently our unique war assets mean nothing. I know I'm not the only one that hoped the Rachni Queen would fight. Truthfully my primary concern is still an appropriate application of the endings based on the choices, from Shepard and Earth's destruction to Shepard's survival and retirement to be with LI. Can we even expect that based on incredibly vague statements?
How far does loyalty go when we've been lied to, given an incomplete game, and will almost certainly have to pay for DLC to get the ending we and the trilogy deserve? Especially when there is no appropriate timeframe on this so-called ending.
Or is this more PR damage control?
Either way, he's still out of touch with reality.
Signing off for the night - Hold the line!

Unless I terribly misjudged (possible), I think the singularity relates to the Technological Singularity theory. That is, eventually, we will create technology that turns on us and kills us, ala Skynet and the Terminators.
If I'm way the eff off, I apologize.

LOL!!!!!! wow its almost sad in a drunk state I'm in - there are sober people thinking and creating it. BW given me some most amazing games - them and black isle - Balder's gate, 1 and 2 - to possibly the greatest RPG ever....sorry but the freedom - the amount of dialog in that game - Planescape. Neverwinter nights; the expantions; all the freedom to create - KOTOR, ME, ME 2......TOR - I've loved TOR - but on the grounds of what ME3 done.......I can't even log in.
I don't want BW to become butt of jokes - or scorned like some are Ubisoft - Activtion for very good reasons. Besides some of the indie studios - We had two major studios that held the line - that seemed to care about their customers........BW - Blizzard........both now though seem to be slowly corrupting; indoctrinated........even in this state. It matters not.......
Because I WILL HOLD THE LINE.........even with a heavy heart - I want back what BW was and still could be.........that studio I could always count on to put out an amazing title.........

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone in this thread, everyone who has participated in the Retake ME3 movement, and everyone who has taken place in this whole dialogue. When the game first came out, and I played through to the end, got the highest assets and so on, I was conflicted on how I felt about the ending. On the one hand was all the fury and hate at what I felt was a set of endings that did not live up to the promises of Mass Effect as a Space Opera. On the other, a bone deep weariness, even if I was upset, it was over, what was the use in getting angry?
Then I began to follow threads like these, and all the events that have happened since the release of the game.
