I'm currently watching my sister finish the game for the first time. Shepard is giving her final speech. This is painful.

Brent Knowles (God bless him for his brilliance) said it best: if you're going to do a trilogy, make the second part bleak then make sure you end the trilogy on a high note. Shepard walking in ME2 and his crewmates nodding at him (and it was like only 10 seconds!) was more satisfying than this space magic crap we have for ME3.

Hopefully M.Shields won't let her past.

If only we were all so lucky.

If he kept killing us and we couldn't beat him most would come here and e stopped from beating it.

There is a definitive moment where you can see the build up and hope of a fan get crushed in a very gruesome manner

Great!

I actually managed to play a game and enjoy it yesterday. But it's one that combat is fun, and not an "unforgattable story". The story is quite forgettable.

Battle of Duty: Modern Warfields 17?

Nah, I can't play shooters at all. I can't stand them. Except for ME!! If it wasn't made by BioWare I would've never touched it.

It was another EA game that I played. I had bought it and played part of it already some time before ME. So, as money is already spent, I decided to play it. Combat is fun, really responsive, story is also rather interesting, but all NPCs are forgettable. And there's not many choices, there are some, but not many.

It's acceptable in that scenario since there is more to come. Now I feel like there was supposed to be a third disc that none of us got.

ME was supposed to be a trilogy. Shepard only lasts for 3 games. Though they said there might be other games, but without Shepard.

I actually wonder how it would matter in a Universe without Mass Relays?
Or even if they did a game that was during Anderson's youth, why would I even bother knowing that the relays just go caboom?

lol we've been discussing this for the last 3 or 4 pages.

I noticed, it's why I chimed in (though I missed all these pages)

Once I knew they were taking our squadmates away again, for no reason this time. I knew I wouldn't like it as much as ME1/2.

It's been a week now since I finished the game and I still don't get how we got the ending we did. The rest of the game's climax was rather awesome, in my opinion. Charging towards the beam in a last desperate sprint was thrilling. I'm even a fan of Shepard getting hit by Harbinger and having to limp on. It was a truly heroic thing to do. Then we get the final conversation with Anderson, which even in its shorter form, is heart wrenching and a great ending for the character. Then, as the credits roll, we get a beautiful piece of music by Faunts which is a fitting tribute to the end of Mass Effect 1. Whereas M4 Part 2 was energetic and psyched one up for Shepard's continuing struggle against the Reapers, Das Malefitz is eerie and contemplative - perfect for sending a great, yet tired hero into retirement or mourning his final sacrifice. However, all of this is greatly diminished by our 10 minutes with the star child, his pointless choice of colours, and seeing our friends turn tail and run for no apparent reason. So frustrated...

I agree with you 100% :crying:

I've seen this mentioned several times over the last week or so, that Drew Karpyshyn wanted to expand the Haestrom/Dark Energy plot. I remember seeing a link to a site that explained what he wanted to do in depth. Could someone repost that please? I rember playing Tali's recruitment mission in ME2 and thinking "hmm, that seemslike foreshadowing" I would really like to know what he intended to do with that plotline. Thanks in advance :)

That's why you should keep the same writers, or at least go with what they were planning. Creative writing is fun, but not always the best way to do things - especially when things get forgotten or omitted.

The "minor" holes in the story stick out even more for me, after that horrendeous end. The game otherwise was so enjoyeable that I could live with all the holes I saw (including getting rid of my squad, and old LIs), just because the game had this fulfilling feeling in it.

Oh well.
