I actually registered the game just so that I could post in this thread. Now where is this line I will hold?

I'm currently watching my sister finish the game for the first time. Shepard is giving her final speech. This is painful.
Avert your eyes! For the love of God avert your eyes!
Or more like, she should be there for her.
I want to warn her. But I can't!

Good morning, how is everyone holding up?
HOLD THE LINE, I'M NOT GOING TO GIVE UP.
Great!
I actually managed to play a game and enjoy it yesterday. But it's one that combat is fun, and not an "unforgattable story". The story is quite forgettable.

Brent Knowles (God bless him for his brilliance) said it best: if you're going to do a trilogy, make the second part bleak then make sure you end the trilogy on a high note. Shepard walking in ME2 and his crewmates nodding at him (and it was like only 10 seconds!) was more satisfying than this space magic crap we have for ME3.
Sorry about thatKyazain wrote...

ME was supposed to be a trilogy. Shepard only lasts for 3 games. Though they said there might be other games, but without Shepard.
I actually wonder how it would matter in a Universe without Mass Relays?
Or even if they did a game that was during Anderson's youth, why would I even bother knowing that the relays just go caboom?
lol we've been discussing this for the last 3 or 4 pages.

It's been a week now since I finished the game and I still don't get how we got the ending we did. The rest of the game's climax was rather awesome, in my opinion. Charging towards the beam in a last desperate sprint was thrilling. I'm even a fan of Shepard getting hit by Harbinger and having to limp on. It was a truly heroic thing to do. Then we get the final conversation with Anderson, which even in its shorter form, is heart wrenching and a great ending for the character. Then, as the credits roll, we get a beautiful piece of music by Faunts which is a fitting tribute to the end of Mass Effect 1. Whereas M4 Part 2 was energetic and psyched one up for Shepard's continuing struggle against the Reapers, Das Malefitz is eerie and contemplative - perfect for sending a great, yet tired hero into retirement or mourning his final sacrifice. However, all of this is greatly diminished by our 10 minutes with the star child, his pointless choice of colours, and seeing our friends turn tail and run for no apparent reason. So frustrated...

I've seen this mentioned several times over the last week or so, that Drew Karpyshyn wanted to expand the Haestrom/Dark Energy plot. I remember seeing a link to a site that explained what he wanted to do in depth. Could someone repost that please? I rember playing Tali's recruitment mission in ME2 and thinking "hmm, that seemslike foreshadowing" I would really like to know what he intended to do with that plotline. Thanks in advance
