I replayed the three endings and I think I now understand. The endings are not actually bad specially the death of Shepard. It is in fact elegant and noteworthy. To those who are calling for a new ending I think you should stop now. There's nothing wrong with it. Your choices are sacrifice yourself to control the reapers and end the siege of earth and also end the reaper cycle, you sacrifice yourself and integrate with the reapers and create a new kind of sentient organic-ai organism, and destroy the reapers but there's no guarantee that there will be peace.

I don't recall any scenes not making sense, maybe if I played it again I would. I never notice stuff like that on a first playthrough to be perfectly honest. I noticed glitches but laughed at most of them, except the stupid crap frame rate on PS3 that sucks.
Well in the Liara romance, when she's talking about her little box for the future she refers to Shep as a good friend, then another scene where she says I wish we could stay like this...just friends.. and then you can reply you want to be more than friends... even though you established that in ME1 again in ME2 LOTSB and in the beginning of ME3. Makes no sense.
I had a Liara romance carried over from ME1. It had rekindled at the start of ME3 fine enough. After I made a move on Traynor though, the game decided I was no longer with Liara and never mentioned that Sheppard had a thing with her ever again. Couldn't talk to Liara about it, or anything.
Now I thought this was the issue that was going to be the moment that was going to ruin the game for me... Then I played the ending (Yes I keep turning everything around and make it about the ending. It is all about the ending.)
The Traynor thing never came up for me, maybe it's because it already though Liara and I were in a relationship already, or maybe it's because I chose the renegade option first.

I said all the right things to Liara to start the game, but like I said, the game simply forgot. I was hoping it would turn into some drama or conflict if I added Traynor to the mix between Shepard and Liara, but... yeah. Traynor's not all that bad though.

Its not that it's a bad ending. It's the only ending. Nothing that you have done in any of the games matter.
To those that say "Hey, it's about the journey!" well... If I had known the destination was so awful, I would not have set out on that journey in the first place.

I agree, if it was a movie, it could have worked. And everyone would first go "oooh" and "aaaah" and compare it to Matrix, Japanese and other Asian movies. Then some might go "wait a minute, what about the armada and all stranded refugees". But it still could have been interesting.
But this isn't a movie, it's a game that promises 16 different endings, based on your choices throughout the game.

Then Justin Bieber introduced his cousin, who you've never heard of before. And his cousin just gave the audience three choices - listen to him singing, leave, or collapse the stadium. And every choice meant that you had to die while listening to Justin Bieber music.

The fact was they promised a lot of things. 16 unique endings. A happy ending among them. Single player campain uninterupted by the multiplayer. etc. They just did not deliver on them.
