For those playing MP and want a better ending to the SP I request that you boycott the MP for now, I know I'm asking a lot, but a strong message needs to be sent, it's no shame if you continue with MP, but EA will not hesitate to use it as PR.

Also try not to play anything EA/Bioware.
We want to have their attention.

Hold the line!

I think the forced mp to get a "perfect/best"? ending is cynical in the way that it leads even people with little or even non interest in it to try it and thus it racks up the figures that can be used to prove it was a success. alas, such is the way of marketing nowadays.

Of course the way they ended up doing the endings there is actually no point in playing mp to get a different ending anyway. ;)

We hold grievances with the current ending and EA/BioWare because:
  • The game's ending fails to meet what we were promised as consumers.
  • The game's ending fails to meet our expectations as fans.
  • The response from BioWare needs to change.
  • We have jobs, families, responsibilities. We dedicate our time to this cause because we genuinely care about Mass Effect and its story.
  • We want to see a product that we, as human beings, as consumers, as fans, and as players can be proud of.
Retake Mass Effect 3 - Hold the line.

On a side note, perhaps more people could write in their feedback on how they felt to contact@bioware.com

Keep it simple, keep it civil. The more the merrier.

This is meant lightly so please take it as such

Every time I see you post in bold, along with that avatar image, all I can think of is the Transport advisor in SimCity 2000 who, when you reduce funding, pops up with an avatar with a similar expression saying "YOU CANNOT CUT BACK ON FUNDING, YOU WILL REGRET THIS!!!"

Just thought I'd say :P

It annoyed me that the "optional" objectives during the "optional" MP all became required. I think Bioware needs to study the word optional.

Yes, I already saw the calculated stats for SP, but I'd personally rather sacrifice the best ending than make up the stats in MP.

That is the indoctrinaiton theory, which is the straw we are holding on to. If this turns out to be true it would allow the ME series the ending that it deserves through a DLC.

If it turns out to be wrong... Well they will just have to pretend it was their plan to begin with :3

If I were EA/BW I would do exactly that.

why not... if it was planed or not. all they have to to is to EXPLAIN why the ende we have is the one they give us...
no time > bad end > but we listen to our fans and so we made the "awsome end dlc jsut for u" >>> NICE!
make a "big thing" out of the ending by > launch a bad end > and give in a good one after weeks with a DLC >>> NICE!

I agree with trusting them again, and no doubt EA had a part to play in this.
However my love for the mass effect franchise is to strong and even if i had to pay for the DLC i would, It can't be left to end like this!

It's hard to trust a company that a former employee who was a lead developer on a number of awesome titles no longer recognizes.

Geez, all this praise is starting to inflate my ego. God knows what will happen if I ever get a wikipedia page!Anyways, you make some excellent points, especially concerning the clarification of what a happy ending would entail. As for the limited 'choice'... this is just the way these kinds of games are going to be I think. I've posted a fair bit about this in the past, especially close to the time when I originally left BioWare. Games with voice over and cinematics are too expensive to make now. Multiple choices = content that not everyone sees. This is impossible to justify to executives/shareholders, especially when it actually doesn't increase sales. And the  BioWare games of today are selling better than the games from the 'early years'. I think sometimes though that makes people feel that *all* the lessons from those past games are irrelevant (because the newer games sell better).

I spent a lot of time on this, then a following movie, then had lunch. But I'm back. anything new?

Man is right. We should not play anything Bioware so they know Retake Mass Effect 3 is serious business. I do not touch any of their games until I hear some reasonable devs statement.

Another thought occurring...

Maybe they released Day 1 DLC because they knew nobody would buy it once the game had been out a while.

For those who have yet to read the PR/Damage Control thread, you can read it here:

http://social.biowar...ndex/10084349/1

It isIMPERATIVE that everyone holding the line read this. As posted in the other thread, I think it would be best if we assume that unless Bioware gives us a definitive answer on what they're going to do (with the problem at hand), it's best to assume that everything they say is just PR spin.
While some people from Bioware might really care about us, not to sound melodramatic, but we are at war. We're already the underdog but they'll keep using tactics to dismantle us. If any of you have played Romace of the Three Kingdoms or any of the Dynasty Warriors games, this tactic would be called "Charm." They almost succeeded (or maybe they did? Some were 'charmed'), thank God for our own PR guy to make sense of it all.

Hold the line!

People ALWAYS buy DLC.

Maybe not as many people, but they'd still get plenty of sales.

BW loses nothing if people stop playing MP. We love the series, the whole story, we lived in this universe for 5 years. If we quit MP it wont matter at all. It's the lack of future support BW should be scared of, which is in my case a strong statement i will not buy any DLC that has pre-ending content, nor any other game BW releases. I love their work but if they end it like this, without even a shadow of hope and sense then there is just no point.

Nah. I really believe that they genuinely thought the end was good.
That's just an honest mistake. Stuff like that happens.

However, releasing a game knowing fully well that it would likely cause such an outburst would be suicidal.

Agreed and we wouldn't mind that at all, would we? as long as the "real" ending than makes sense.
It doesn't matter if it was their plan all along or not, because if it was not their plan, the work has already been done for them, mostly anyways, they just have to spent some time reading this forum http://w11.zetaboard...opic/7688087/1/ here

While it would feel weird to have bought a unfinished game and have to buy more content to get the real ending, I'd gladly do it for mass effect, so much time spent. And i really really want to start playing again, from the very beginning of me1 but i just can't because with that ending.... nothing matters so i can't bring myself to it. I can imagine a lot of players feel the same way and EA/BW would have to be extremly thick headed to not see this. None of us is going to buy any DLC or anything related to the mass effect universe if we aren't satisfied with the end.
