So we can't get the ending we want after all?

Just before ME 3 got released here, I was in a real bad place - have a history with depresion so I think you know what I mean with that. The only bright spot that week was the ME 3 realese and when I started playing I was happy and forgot my problems for a while. When I cured the genophage and brokered peace between the quarians and the geth I felt that I really mattered in the game universe (and that was some awesome moments that felt epic).
Everything was exeptionally good up until the ending. Sure I was prepared that Shepard probably would die, but I had som hope that with the right choices he/she wouldn't die and everything would be relativly fine in the galaxy. Unfortunate every choice in the game was made invalid by the ending and I got no closure, the feeling I got was one of complete emptiness and I felt even worse than before. Now most of it is better but I still can't muster the energy to pick up the controls and play the game again until the endings are changed. I haven't played any other game for that matter since I beaten ME 3, the only thing I doing now is trying to work and look if there is any news about the endings.

Hang in there. I'm in the exact same situation (being treated for clinial depression). I'm sure many others can relate as well.
I use video games as my escape from that depression. If it wasn't for this movement and this thread, I'd be a mess right now... well more of a mess, the game left me in bad shape.

I was on an incredible journey, a wonderful journey, meeting the squad and getting to know them, exploring the galaxy, pleasant surprises due to my ME1 imports, I was riding a roller coaster of emotions, I still had hope even after meeting up with the starchild, then everything was ripped away in minutes, every decision meant nothing, every experience blown to the winds, I remember climbing onto my bed and laying there wondering what it was all for, I did not feel anger or sadness, in fact I felt nothing, just a confusion, what happened to the mass effect universe, becauses this "end" was NOT mass effect.
Some people call the denial.
I call it common sense and logical thinking.

Sigh... Feeling a bit depressed now. We have a game talk section in one of the fan clubs I'm part of on a manga forum I visit. A couple of people I've known for years brought up the ME3 ending and even mentioned "entitled whiners". One even said how he finds it "creepy" how serious people get about some things. They even mentioned the charity, the FTC complaint and facebook spamming. I wrote a page long dissertation on what the Retake ME3 movement really is about and how we're keeping it civil and that we don't support the FTC complaint.
People who have no real investment in the series are going to think that. It's expected.
I remember those same words, "entitled whiners" being applied to Occupy movement members.
I wouldn't get too bummed out about that. The facts remain:
You spent time, effort and money in this product. You did not receive what was promised to you by the company, and have no way of getting a refund by this company. That's not entitlement....that's business.

Haha, that's kind of what's been happening in relation to the endings, yes.
Just a reminder, try to post a link to the image, not the actual image.
We don't want to risk having this thread closed.
Also, no bashing.
We have to keep being civil.

I know I can't change your mind, but I think that your Shepard and my Shepard and all the other Shepards here would find another way. And that's what I'm asking you to do - find another way to keep the game alive instead of just taking what they shoved down your throat and accepting it. Shepard is worth more than that. You are worth more than that, we all are.
Amen

Yeah. I thought I was actually going to get closure from the ending of the series. And choice... I wasn't expecting pick red, blue, or green that is for sure.

I remember one post by a dev who was recommending that we play the game first as default instead of importing our game...then import our game on the second playthrough so that we can see the vast difference our choices make...

Sure, I read the PR-Thread but they must know that they are hurting their business. Every day, heck, every hour more and more people are making up their mind. Many will just forget this ever happend with time, but there will also be many people that will stop buying Bioware or EA products long before this campaign ends - for better or worse, the damage is done and keeps growing with every day.

Like many before me said, I'm playing games to escape everyday monotony and I guess every sane developer should know that. I hope Bioware listens...
