The videogame-market is a market, too. And like on every other market, customers have the right to complain if they are unhappy with the product they just bought. And in this case, the product didn't even hold to the promise, the producers made (16 endings, our ingame-choices matter).

You are asking who gave us this right. I say, no one had to give us the right, because we already have it.

You make it sound like we have people tied up in a warehouse somewhere. All we are doing is telling Bioware that we are unhappy with the endings & we started up a chairty fund to build awareness so that the message would hopefully reach them. The forums are here for a reason; to voice opinions. We have the right to do that as much as you do.

Does anyone know if The Witcher 2 is any good. I'm looking for something to drown my sorrows in (gaming -wise). But I thought I'd ask before buying...Bioware has taught me that much now.

Better than Witcher 1, so I have been told. It is what DA II should have been.

Great combat, good story, Free DLC. No customization though.

It's worth supporting the company that made it.

I'd actually recommend the first Witcher. In my opinion it is superior story-wise to the sequel.

Both are very good though Witcher 2 has more replay value and more interesting combat. Witcher 1 combat is sort of turn based statistics combat (not bad but not as interesting as it could be) while witcher 2 has you manually hit enemies and dodge their attacks, frustrating at first but more enjoyable.

Over half of the game is also different based on 1 very clear decision made at the end of Chapter 1, giving you a completely different 2nd chapter and a mostly different 3rd chapter.

Play Witcher 1 first though, since Witcher 2 will be VERY hard to understand without knowledge from the first game. Unlike BioWare, CDProjekt did not aim to make standalone games in a trilogy.

We hold grievances with the current ending and EA/BioWare because:

The game's ending fails to meet what we were promised as consumers.

The game's ending fails to meet our expectations as fans.

The response from BioWare needs to change.

We have jobs, families, responsibilities. We dedicate our time to this cause because we genuinely care about Mass Effect and its story.

We want to see a product that we, as human beings, as consumers, as fans, and as players can be proud of.

We wish to see a conclusion to the game that does the rest of the series justice - in terms of concluding the story and providing the players with both choices and consequences to prior choices.

Retake Mass Effect 3 - Hold the line.

Just reposting this to make sure we're staying the course and holding that line!

We do, in no way, want to completly change the ending as it is now. We only want, for people who actually can't identify his or her Shepard with this ending, to also have different endings. The current ending, where Shepard accepts the reasoning without questioning it, goes against many Shepard(s) out there.

We actually only want a DLC that expands after the Star Childs reason, and that starts after you wake up in London if your decisions made it worth it.

From there onwards, there can be happy and sad endings alike, we only want that our choices of the previous hundreds of hours of gameplay are taken into consideration for a happy/bad ending at the end.

If you like the endings so far, you can always stop playing afterwards or refuse to download the DLC content.

Troubling???
I think they are coming up with an Explanation or Solution, meaning hopefully Progress on our Case

Well, to be fair to them, it *is* Sunday.  I don't seriously expect anything till Monday at the earliest.

As was noted in the PR thread elsewhere. Bioware's most likely tactic at the moment is to stay quiet, offer us 'shiney's' to distact us and hope we loose interest and go away.

They might also attempt to divide us or get a rise out of us so that we can be painted in a negative light.

Unless the rumours about 'The Truth' DLC turn out to be correct don't expect any meaningful statements from BW next week. If 'The Truth' does exist they will probably let us know next week, rather than keeping that news back in the current climate - meaning that the mainstream media is starting to pick up on the story and things are probably not going to get any better for them.

Stay calm, stay civil and keep holding the line.

We aren't trying to get the ending changed, just maybe some alternate endings, the ones now can stay, I don't have a problem with them it's just that they are the only endings and some people are looking for more. The original endings can stay unchanged and more endings added on.

And we aren't forcing this on other people. Have you seen us going around and telling people that this is how it's supposed to be??? If someone has done this then they aren't with us, we are a calm and peaceful movement.

With that said, would you force us to like the endings that are in place right now, just because we don't share the opinion you have? All we want are endings that everyone can enjoy, good endings, sad endings, happy endings, the current ending....we just want some options to be open.

Sorry if what we are doing is upsetting you, but the way the game ended upset us, and we are simly doing what we can to get some new endings added on, not change the current one.

Contact@bioware.com for emails.  Ensure you put #RetakeME3 or #RetakeMassEffect3 into the body somewhere so their system'll auto-route it to the proper mailbox and we don't cause their poor IT guys too much grief.

Snail Mail can go to:

BioWare Edmonton
200-4445 Calgary Trail NW
Edmonton AB
Canada T6H 5R7

If you're sending from the states I think postage is $1.12 right now so that's like 3 stamps since it's equivalent to like 2.5 or so.

Then what's the point of role-playing if I have to continue to choose specific dialogue choices throughout the game in order to get a certain result?

The role-playing is still there. Unlike ME2, you can choose any mix of Renegade/Paragon in the game and can still get the high charm/intimidate options. It seems that some of the options during the various conversations with TIM are hidden away on the left side of the wheel and you'll miss them if you take the quick route. I was able to make him shoot himself in the end and I played mostly paragon with a slice of 'go screw yourself' renegade from the beginning mission on Mars, and from what I've read elsewhere it's either been people missing certain charm opportunities during the length of the game or just a bug. Who knows *shrug*

If you meant having to choose a charm/intimidate option over a 'regular' dialogue option then that's just how the game works.

I meant what you said in the first paragraph. I know how the dialogue system works. It just seems stupid. My Shep on that run would've been mad over leaving Earth and all the pointless deaths at Mars, so would quickly tell TIM to go to h*** instead of learning his motives or plans. And because of that she get screwed over at the endgame? Doesn't make much sense from where I'm standing.
