Oh well. Let's move on and talk about something more fun. Where are all the Marauder Shields vidoes?

While I respect the sacrifice poor Marauders made, and will forever carry their memory in my heart, I have to ask:
Where's the respect for Banshee Barriers? Those poor women have hindered the inevidable for the longest time (at least in MP) with something that can be described as sheer desperation. Of course, whose desperation, is always debatable :innocent:

Ugh, I hated encountering Banshees in multiplayer! Just one of those things amongst the Reaper horde is enough, but once a second one shows up, it's usually "Game over man, game over!"

So there's concern that if we get new endings, the old ones will be discarded. Personally, I'd be fine with that, but I understand that there are those who actually enjoy what we've already got. And I don't think it's fair that they would be disappointed. I see two ways that Bioware can satisfy everyone:

Thoughts?

That's why having it be in the form of DLC would be the optimal solution.
Those who want things to change, download it.
Those who do not, don't.
I know it's hard to please everyone, but I think an ending DLC would come close to doing so.

Keep everything as it is, but add new endings as new choices. I don't care for this solution, since I'd like everything following Anderson's death torn out and redone entirely. And people who like the current endings might not care for any form of change at all. But I could accept this solution, and everyone pretty much gets the ending they want.

Alternatively, Bioware could give you an option at the beginning of a new game. You get to select whether you want the old endings, or the new ones. If you pick the old endings, nothing is changed at all. If you pick the new endings, everything after Anderson's death is removed and replaced. That way, everyone gets exactly what they want - we all get the ending we prefer, I don't have to see the Starchild at all, and the people who like the old endings don't have their experience changed even a little bit.

Thoughts?

This might have been overlooked, and I think it's kind of important to say, so... self bump.

Edit: And it's clear I'm just being impatient. Whoops.

No, I believe it's if you already finished ME3 and import that character that you get the Shepard lives ending.  Not just a straight up ME1 and ME2 import.

Edit: That's how I got it at least.  I am unaware if it can be done otherwise.

I got Shepard lives and I only had a ME2 paragon save.

There's no reason anything we have at the moment has to change. DLC doesn't have to be installed. It's not mandatory. Anyone who wants the ending to stay as it is just can ignore that particular DLC.

I like the idea of a choice at the start of the game, but that might be harder to implement.

That would mean this thread ends at page 2186. And we all die or get stranded on earth.

They weren't Shepard's last opponent, so...sorry, not as important :P

P.S. I hate Banshees. They are so loud and annoying.

Some people also have had this problem if they play multiplayer a little too late in the campaign. I don't know when you upped your readiness, but maybe you needed to do it a little bit more before the Cerberus base.

Really? That's rubbish! But you are right. I upped the readiness just befor TIM's base.
Do I need to replay the whole game for a 10 second clip?

Again, what did you do with the collector base in ME2?

Well I destroyed it the first time round, but kept it the second time round. (Just in case.)
And I imported the second playthrough Shepard.

Ahhh. Did I just bum myself there?

If it's a concern for people, I don't see why they'd download the new ending DLC in the first place.

Well, sure, it's a "don't like it, don't download it" sort of thing. If it's optional DLC, there's no problem. But I'm envisioning something where Bioware pushes out a patch for the ending, so you get it whether you want it or not. In that case, I think giving the choice up front to play the new endings or the old ones is only fair.

Lets ignore this glubba guy...
We have survived here on almost 2000 pages.
We don't need anyone to spark our fuse. We already wind up.
So ignore him.letchim rant. After lack of responses he will go away.

And this is where communication breaks down, there is nothing wrong in an intelligent and thought out response, I know what he is saying and agree with him, but he is making the mistake of thinking we want the end rewritten, I don't know about anyone else, but that's not what I'm fighing for, I'm fighting for "additional" ends, that way we all get what we want.

Exactly! I too don't want a rewritten ending, as that kills what what we stand for and are trying to do. What we want is more options, so those who are happy with the current endings get to close their story out that way, and those who want to REJECT the options given can find another solution to win the war.

Thats all this is. Keep the said endings there but have more variety. Say for example what Jeremy Jahns said about an ending with Garrus and Shepard on a beach that could be another ending they could add. Along with many more great ideas from the people in this thread.

I for one won't mind an ending were Shep and crew arrive back on earth and instead of being celebrated they look around and see that there is so much work to do in the rebuilding of society not only on earth but galaxy wide. It ends on a sad but hope will prevail note. So keep the endings that are there but and more outcomes, and for the love of Mike make some of them good/ happy.

Hornet nest is very organized my friend. Google it.
So perception you are getting from me is wrong.
I m just stating that you don't come here and start winding people up.
I know what I'm doing and I'm not abusing anyone.

Funny, that's precisely what I heard in Russian last time I tried Silver challenge. After the THIRD Banshee made her appearance (something like Wave 8) and instant-killed the second person in our team, I heard something resembling true and utter giving up through my speakers. <_<
