GameStar (most important german gaming mag) did it's own poll about the ending.

http://www.gamestar....id=842&pk=13537

The two biggest numbers are: "The ending ruined the whole series" and "I haven't finished the game yet".^^

What the- they took the photo and the Starchild concept from a heavy metal band?  No no, this can't be right.  That's just a fan video right?

But look at the date... Space magic?

I think it's high time we started saying, Advance the line!

I respectfully disagree, the weekend is almost over and people are going really start getting stressed waiting for a response on monday, they need to hold their ground, they need to be prepared for the worst, at this point EA/Bioware does not have to rush anything, for now they can wait and hope this dies down, but if we advance now, then folk are going to get more stressed and the abuse will begin, we need EA/Bioware to come to us, not the other way round, certainly it's in the communities best interest not to expect any answers yet.

Thats sort of like, i dont know, THIS? Damn circular logic

Hold the line

From what I can tell, he basically means that the ending basically takes place when you start saying goodbye to all your squaddies, and you should realise that you're not coming back from this one. It's like saying the ending of ME2 WAS the suicide mission, not the bit after you kill the human reaper.

The problem is that we will always be able to be portrayed as the minority as they can assume that, given that research shows that people who are unsatisfied are more likely to complain and be vocal about it than satisfied people are going to offer praise (standard feedback assumption in any line of work - complains always outnumber compliments as satisfaction is not usually reported but expected). The problem is that a majority of people who play this game are not on these forums, do not look for polls, and, while they may care, don't care enough about it to do anything. There will be many who just chalk down another game with a bad/stupid ending and go off onto other things.

Because of the silent majority, those who are vocal will always appear to be in minority; even if the majority aren't happy, they will be assumed so until they state otherwise.

Sorry, but it's they way it is and the way the business side of companies will look at it.

What we have to do is appeal to the human side of those involved, appeal to their better nature, their grasp of how much they could stand to lose through their dedicated customer base, and their professional pride. There will be people who went into the industry just for the money, but I bet you there are more who went in because they remember how games made them feel when they were younger and want to provide more happiness to those who follow on. It is these people we approach, it is these who we call on to not let the standards slip, not to let a million and one incosistencies slide along a trail of multi-coloured sparkly whizz, to take a stand and show that they care just as much about their company and this game as we do.

Just submitted this to CBC.

"Bioware (canadian video game developer) recently released a game call Mass Effect 3. If you've heard
of Mass Effect 3 game recently it's probably because of the contreversy surrounding the ending. I won't go into details but the way the game ended was completely opposite to the way it was advertised in the media. The best you could say is that if it wasn't technically lying it was intentionally misleading. Fans of the series have started a movement called Retake Mass Effect, calling for endings that fall in line with what was promised. Our movement has over 35,000 members on facebook, our repeated pleas have made @MassEffect one of the most active twitter accounts ever, we've organized a letter writing campaign, and in order to make sure SOME good comes out of it all we have organized a charity drive that has at this moment raised over $64,500 (USD) for sick children. I could give you more information if you'll contact me over email."

If you can, try submitting a similar article to whatever local/nationwide news station(s) you can even if you don't think they'll bite. It only takes a minute but the more people who submit these kinds of stories the bigger chance one of these outlets will run with them. Even if they won't listen to one person, if they recieve many similar submissions their curiosity could very well kick in.

Hold the line, but don't stay passive people. Do what you can to make people aware, the more attention we can get the better. Do it for the ending we ALL know Shepard deserves.

In other news, I would like to remind people that the other 99% of the game wasn't "perfect" in comparison to the endings...

http://www.facebook....esInMassEffect3

Just because the endings were atrocious, it doesn't absolve the rest of the game of its flaws.

Sure, the rest of the game has its flaws. But then every game does.

Flaws and bugs in the rest of the game are not the issue, nor is this about changing anything but the ending. This movement is PURELY about getting the ending changed nothing else. Everything else is a distraction at best, and makes us look like like we are demanding that they go back and re-do the entire game at worst - which they are NOT going to do.

SSV Livingston reporting in, requesting sit rep and orders.

first time posting on this thread and I have to say I am impressed with everything you guys have done in raising the issues that many of us have with ME3 endings.

I would just like to say that for me the problem with the ending was the complete and utter lack of closure. I was prepared to witness my Shepard sacrifice himself to bring down the reapers and ensure a future for the peoples of the galaxy, and beyond. But no I didn't get that, I got an ageless AI with a misplaced god complex and the most flawed logic ever telling me to choose the colour of my destruction.

For the most part my grievousnesses are similar to the many that have already been posted but I am proud to state that I am going to,

Hold. The. Line.

Baconking113 out.

Welcome to the line!
There's a list with things for first comers, but I can't seem to find it right now. D:

But here's some things you can do:
Follow Retake Mass Effect both on twitter and facebook (I believe they are Demand a Better Ending to ME3 in facebook).
You can also go to IGN's facebook page and vote in a poll they are currently holding.

And you can hold the line!
Thanks for joining us!

OK, I was watching Buffy last night (it cheers me up and I love the show) and it was Season 5, so I started thinking about how this season ends and it got me thinking that, the ending of Buffy S5 is what ME3 could have been like if there was no other way round Shepard dying. Buffy (Shepard) gave her (or his) life to save the ones she (or he) loved along with saving the world from all the beast's coming out of the hell dimensions (or if Sheps case saving the Galaxy from the reapers).

Now think of this: Buffy = Shepard, Spike = LI and Everyone else is your squad and crew so look at this and the way it is done and let me know what you guys think?

(Just random musings on my part feel free to ignore them or tell me to shut up)

Can't really say that, the whole artical is only prior to the last, now well know, statement of Mr Hudsons posted on the forum.

But i think we have gained around 30 000 vote of " end is crappy " in the poll inbetween. Even those who like the ending are recognize we have become the majority now :)

I'm just going to come right out and say it. Mr Hudson should be terminated for grossly misunderstanding the fans and instead made promises he didn't keep and made a game to his specifacations and not the fans.

No don't be that guy.  :) Yes he among many of his co workers messed up by not giving themselves more time to finish it all the way. If they had done that then I do believe things may have been different.

In the future I really do hope Bioware adopts a "When it's done" mentality. The games will be better for it and it gives them time to work out the kinks and other concerns. I can't imagine how hard the job must be, so be nice to them bit also let them know they are better than this and you expected better.

They need to hear that at least.

The sacrifice that was spoken was the destruction of all the races mass relays which means people are going to be stranded galaxy wide.

Nah, almost no one is stranded. Bioware already made it clear in The Arrival (ME2 DLC) that destroying mass relays destroys most if not all of the star system. With the size of the explosions at the ending of 3 and the fact that you can *see* these explosions from a *galaxy map* type of view, means you've destroyed more than the Reapers ever would have.

That's not new, its been floating around for a while. That nowhere near says that we're right. At best it says "Some fans are more needy than others so we'll coddle their simple natures and take their opinions when the next DLC comes out"

Casey hudson is digging his own grave with repeated denials like this.

Regardless, don't let up until you have confirmation that you're gonna get what you want, a real ending

Voting weird coincidence on the Starchild video.  The background art does look like the one shown during the 'old man and child' scene, but it's also easily found by typing 'winter space' into Google image search.

I never realized before how much video game art comes from stock photos.

Anyway, carry on. :)  And watch this review if you haven't already.  Good stuff.
