So we can't get the ending we want after all?

Voting weird coincidence on the Starchild video. The background art does look like the one shown during the 'old man and child' scene, but it's also easily found by typing 'winter space' into Google image search.
I never realized before how much video game art comes from stock photos.
Anyway, carry on.And watch this review if you haven't already. Good stuff.
Not going to argue with you there
But it was quite funny...it even has changing coloures and everything!

"As Mass Effect 3 is the end of the planned trilogy, the developers are not constrained by the necessity of allowing the story to diverge, yet also continue into the next chapter. This will result in a story that diverges into wildly different conclusions based on the player's actions in the first two chapters." - CASEY HUDSON
"“There are many different endings. We wouldn’t do it any other way. How
could you go through all three campaigns playing as your Shepard and
then be forced into a bespoke ending that everyone gets? But I can’t say
any more than that…” - MIKE GAMBLE
"Whether you’re happy or angry at the ending, know this: it is an
ending. BioWare will not do a “Lost” and leave fans with more questions
than answers after finishing the game. "
BioWare Co-Founder Dr. Ray Muzyka has talked about the ending, saying that “Pretty much everything that people want to see wrapped up, or to be given answers, will be.”
"his will result in a story that diverges into wildly different conclusions based on the player's actions in the first two chapters." - CASEY HUDSON
Good lies Bioware but you can't deceive us anymore!

The sacrifice that was spoken was the destruction of all the races mass relays which means people are going to be stranded galaxy wide.
Nah, almost no one is stranded. Bioware already made it clear in The Arrival (ME2 DLC) that destroying mass relays destroys most if not all of the star system. With the size of the explosions at the ending of 3 and the fact that you can *see* these explosions from a *galaxy map* type of view, means you've destroyed more than the Reapers ever would have.
So Earth and the planet Joke landed on was destroyed by the explosion as I understand it. So what happens when you see Shepard take that final breath ? Shouldn't he/she be dead as well in the explosion ?
Your theory does not make sense in accordance to how the Mass Relays worked.

Was that starchild video coverart a Bioware release like a year ago perhaps? The TITLE may have been changed recently to Starchild, but the artwork's in the actual video.. I'm wondering if it's a matter of they got really strapped for time and just bought the artwork from somewhere, or if the author of the video / group snatched it up off youtube for their cover not realizing how much controversy there was going to be.

Ahh turns out they stock sourced the image too. I guess when they said the community had an historic level of input in the design this is what they meant... the internet did the art for it rofl.

I just can't not think that Bioware were having trouble coming up with a plausable ending, left it untill the day before it went gold and then went, "Oh f%$£!" - Like leaving homework untill the night before they had to fling any old crap together so that they could say that it was actually finished. Even though it wasn't.
Either that, or the ending was always meant to be in two parts in an attempt to rile up the community. The utter ****e that was released on the disk, and the propper ending as a later download.
I think these because there's no way in hell that the abortion of an ending as it currently stands was EVER thought of as a good idea.

I have to be honest with you all. I can't hold the line anymore. I want to advance, and I want to keep advancing. I take a lot of my philosophy from many people throughout history, and one of those people was the man who made the following quote:
"Now there's another thing I want you to remember. I don't want to get any messages saying that "we are holding our position." We're not holding anything. Let the Hun do that. We are advancing constantly and we're not interested in holding onto anything except the enemy. We're going to hold onto him by the nose and we're going to kick him in the ass. We're going to kick the hell out of him all the time and we're going to go through him like crap through a goose!" -General George S. Patton, Commanding Officer, Third Army Group, United States Armed Forces Europe.
In many ways sitting on the defensive is all well and good, you always have the advantage against the attack, but you apply constant and unrelenting pressure upon your enemy, their defenses will become moot, begin to crumble, and soon they'll either be in full retreat, or will surrender. At this point, we can no longer just "hold the line". We MUST as a matter of survival and to bring about an eventual end to this internet conflict, advance, and keep building the pressure, keep forcing the issue into the light, at no point should we, as Patton himself stated, report in that we're holding our position. Let EA and Bioware do that.
The statement is just a symbol. We have been on the offensive for quite awhile.
"On the offensive" to a limited point, so far the BSN forums have been flooded, the story is only now getting headline news coverage, and people are only just beginning to build the momentum up more and more. The pressure in truth needs to be increased near ten fold. Mailing campaigns, word of mouth, all the recent suggestions of getting the word out, need to be increased ten fold. Email every tech gaming website out there, show them what's going on, how large the community actually is, get the message out there, and more will come.
Yet, be reasonable, dont make assumptions that just because people are starting to come round that we're winning. This battle is FAR from finished and it's barely begun, start cranking out flyers and going to your local game stores, ask the manager to read it over and if you can post it in their window or at their front desk. If they don't want you to do such, then thank them for their time and look elsewhere to get the message out. Facebook and Child's play have been good starts, but the message hasn't gone out as far as most would hope.
I know people are trying to get of the Daily show and Colbert Report - in the UK several are writing the newspapers along with BBC - ITV - we have another that knows Johnathon Ross - TV presenter and big ME fan - along with Vin Diseal*sp* they are getting ahold of them to get their take and present our case.
We're now hitting main stream news - not just as a side note but full on stories. Fox, CNN, MSNBC - Forbes keeps writing articles in our favor.
We keep things civil; respectable - I've played every single BW game out there - there is some DLC I don't own; but will gladly buy if they fix this. I'm subbed to TOR - which I will end unless this is resolved with a expanded ending.
I am very much invested; repeat customer of BW and EA - I want to get Kindoms of An*sp* I'm hearing great things about it.......along with Synidicate - I loved the original. I can't though and won't. BW won't get anymore nor will EA - I have a lot of friends who are just about to beat this game and they are going what did I just see? What ending was that?? That makes no sense......
I WILL HOLD THE LINE - as the IDEA for multiplayer - I will create a character or a few that say - Expand the Ending - HOLD THE LINE - spread the word that way - We are here for the long term. Lots are saying well people will get bored and move on. I don't think so this time - there is too much love for this universe - too much time - we've invested ourselves into these stories and helped create them.
BW has show they will listen - allowing Garrus and Tali to be romancable from ME2 - they have changed and fixed cannon in their book - Despection. I have hope - I know at times when working on a project as a writer it can be hard to take hard criticism - but to be a good/great writer you need to know when to listen. Then go you know - you're right lets do this.
Some of the most famous authors have rewritten their works or changed them - Shakespear was known for it - took fans 10 years; but they got Sherlock back.......
We're not the first to be here; nor will we be the last - but we're are changing the rules and writing what will happen. Continue the push; Continue to HOLD THE LINE.
Most of all; be excellent to each other -

Still holding the line. Still depressed. I loved playing Mass Effect, it was literally my favourite series but now after the ending I really don't feel like I can ever play it again. If I played ME3 now it would just feel like one long death-march to the end. Would it have killed them to create just *one* happy ending where Shep lives and is reunited with LI? Just one bioware...
No, it wouldn't and they could still have made it bittersweet by having Shepard and his LI the only survivors if they really wanted to do that.
Choice, or lack thereof, is at the heart of this whole fiasco. They promised it to us, and then took it away at the end. All of which, as you say, makes the entire series meaningless and empty.
