The ending was better than I expected.
Becoming synthetic is the natural evolution of all life. The randomness and uncertainties upon getting there is what created the Reapers. Shepard has brought this galaxy to the Singularity.

I almost cried when I saw the the leaf.

We apreciate your feedback, and don't worry we're listening.

'Natural evolution' has no predetermined 'endpoint'. That's not 'evolution', that's Aristotle talking from 4th Century B.C.

And 'robotic dna' is as senseless a notion as a 'circular square'.
FTL can be considered sci-fi; but 'robotic dna' is pure fantasy.

I appreciate that you found the slug stuff haha.  I was curious trying to remember it now.

What's your opinion on why it destroyed the Normandy's drive systems then?

Actually I just remember it. It's a good convo to listen to.

"What is Newtons first law"
"An object in motion stays in motion, Sir"
"I didn't ask for half answers"
"Unless acted upon by an outside force, SIr"
"Right! I dare to assume you ignorant jackasses know that space is empty. Once you fire this slug, it keeps going til it hits something. That can be a ship. Or the planet behind that ship. It might go off into deep space and hit somebody else in ten thousand years. If you pull the trigger on this, you are ruining someones day, somewhere and sometime."

(I might not be completely accurate, but every time I played ME2 I listened to that conversation all the way through. "This means Sir Issac Newton is the deadliest son-of-a-**** in space" - ROFL, gets me every time)

Yeah, after reading the Indoctrination Theory, I think Synthesis may have possibly been the worst choice

Either way I think that was the worst option. My Shep would never play god. I do not even believe a pure renegade Shep would play god like that.

Destroy or Destroy. That is the question.

First time I choose control, after I read the indoctrination theory I felt like a total dick. So I went back the second time, and choose to blow up those bastards. I if the endings don't change I'll probably do that every time.

Yeah...I think I should've picked destroy, but it's not like we had enough information to make and intelligent and informed decision anyway :pinched:

Yeah I picked destroy because I didn't want to play god either. Screw it I'll kill everything!

lol, I went to pick destroy, but then I thought about all of the poor Geth :crying: Not to mention, the Prothean VI talked about how the galaxy had an eternal cycle of destruction, and the Catalyst said I could break that cycle, but now I feel like a dummy.  I probably should've picked destroy, but oh well.  It's not like I'm gonna replay that terrible ending anyway :P

With all the people embedding pics even though we have a warning against it on nearly every page, I'm starting to think the trolls have developed a subtler tactic.

...I just gave them ideas, didn't I?

Hey guys? You know when Shepard was talking to the god child, and he basically states he's controlling all the reapers?

...why didn't you just call out to hackett, tell him to target your location, and blow it to hell? You'd be destroying the control area for the reapers, right? According to this logic anyway.. so...

Sorry for dragging this up from 3h ago, but... I think I'm in love. It'd go something like:

Shepard: Hackett, do you read?

Hackett: Shepard? You're alive! What's your status?

Shepard: I need you to track the location of my signal, then open fire on it with every weapon the fleet can spare. I've found the Reaper control area.

Hackett: Understood. But what about you? If we open fire on your location....

Shepard: (Paragon:) I know. Do it. (Renegade): Just do it. Shepard out.

Cue explosions and out in a blaze of heroic glory.

You just created the Treapers. I hope you're happy.

I kind of want to play ME3 again, but that ending... man.

We'll get a choice of three identical options, coloured in blue, green and red.

When that shockwave caught up with the Normandy it was damaging enought to knock it out of the sky, so no matter what color of space magic it was it was obviously destructive.

Ahh, yes but at that time the Normandy, too, was travelling at conventional FTL (as depicted by doppler shift surrounding it). Now if we assume that anything travelling at FTL is, to all intents and purposes, more like a wave form than conventional matter, when another wave form travelling at a slightly higher frequency catches up to it there will be wave interaction and interference. This is most likey going to happen where the two meet (at the rear of the ship) which is where the engines are kept. As such, the engines would have been damaged, the Normandy would have dropped out of FTL, intertial dampers would have kicked in and, miraculously stranded in a system with an M-class planet with a nitrogen/oxygen atmosphere devoid of microscopic, anaphalactic shock inducing algae, woiuld have been able to secure an emergency re-entry and landing with the use of conventional thrusters.

I love your subtle use of space magic there haha.  I'm going to go way out of my norm and actually allow your technobabble (excellent use of it by the way, you sound like a fellow trekkie rofl).
Having no engines would make landing safely difficult no?  I would imagine being kicked out of FTL would probably not help the matter.

Guess it just reinforces our collective belieft that when you have to make more assumptions than a string theory hypothesis it probably means your ending doesn't really pass the smell test haha.

Shouldn't the Normandy have exploded on the planet? I mean not only does the Normandy still monumental amounts of momentum, but Re-entry into a planets atmosphere, assuming it's atmosphere matches Earth Burn up. Or in the very least leave a giant crater where the Normandy landed? I mean the Normandy was still intact, and it looked like it had a pretty soft landing compared to what physics says.

You know what makes me really sad? I'm just listening to the me3 soundtrack, A Future for the Krogan. Such an awesome song and then.. the ending. That ending! Where is that future now... Poor Wrex.

Anyway, mostly lurking, but here
