This might be controversial, though I feel like I have to say it.

So----the Child's Play donations are at $65000+, that's amazing.

But could we also donate to another charity? $75 covers a year's worth of school expenses, for kids in developing countries. Wouldn't it be awesome if we could provide 1000 kids with a Shepard Scholarship?

I wouldn't have any problem with donating to an additional charity, although it might be more challenging to organize.  Either way, you should probably bring this up in the charity thread (social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/355/index/9845819/1
if you didn't have it handy) and see what people think.

This is a really good one, too.  Plus Forbes...which is wierd, but most definitely not unwelcome :)

Imagine if ME1 had gone like this;

Sovereign; Rudimentary creatures of blood and flesh. You touch my mind, fumbling in ignorance, incapable of understanding.

Shepard; You mean you weren't created by a god-child, who decided that the best way to protect organic life was to create a race of synthetic beings to wipe out organic life every 50,000 years?

*Long pause*

Shepard; I played Mass Effect 3.

Sovereign; You have my sympathies.

Why is it that every time I hear some explanation about the ending I can hear Sovereign saying; Rudimentary creatures of blood and flesh. You touch my mind, fumbling in ignorance, incapable of understanding.

Because its true?

He's extremely good at directly manipulating data packets, so he can get commands out much more efficiently than most beings...but again, because of his lousy connection, he can only do it to one person at a time effectively.

I think I heard he made 3 people lose control of their bowels, though, when they were about to put in posts that support our Movement...but then his connection went down for an hour.

Surprised IGN took that long to take it down. Further surprised Colin's editor even allowed that to be posted. I guess at first they thought the outcry against the ending was a very small minority and that others would think this post quite smug and appropriate. Whoa boy did they get that wrong.

Might want to make sure he's not alone or has sharp objects/toasters & bathtubs the next hour or so haha.  I think it's worst about an hour after it hits.

Thanks
Yeah i've seen the forbes one, and the CNN vid. Certainly reaching some high places

Had a couple of updates today relating to Mr.Hudson (not sure of reliability) one where he validates the criticism and the other where he reiterates the point that user feedback will be incorporated into DLC

I hope to god that the DLC is not just snippets of closure, i dont want the bare minimum

As someone who just finished the game late Friday night, I can say that the ending legitimately ruined my weekend. Like many of you, I have been absolutely frustrated, physically repulsed, and emotionally distraught over how this whole ending went down. It has been a negative reaction unlike any I have ever experienced. I have spent hours surfing the internet reading/watching alternate endings and explanations, even taking the time to make my first forum posts. This reaction has been totally puzzling to me, especially when I hold little hope for change. Furthermore, I was completely confused when this video, offering the ending repackaged in the (some would say absurd, overwrought) style of anime, finally brought out the tears I reserved for Shepard's tragic and heroic sacrifice.
 www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAmVVAjZZeM

Finally, things started to make sense when I read this brilliant essay on art and Mass Effect.
http://www.themetaga...oblem-with.html
Whoever linked to this earlier, many thanks for pointing the way to an understanding of why we have had such visceral responses to this nigh-masterpiece's conclusion. The fact that someone can make such an in depth analysis of Mass Effect shows just how far it has pushed the medium as an art form, while also showing how the developers did not achieve their full potential for many in their audience. I hope BioWare has the time and money to take another look at the ending of their opus for I do not think they achieved the desired emotional response from the majority of us.

Until then, I'll hold the line with all of you.

Yup, then they were partially indoctrinated and the Quarians started attacking them, it's discussed during the Geth/Quarian missions.  They basically had no option but to fight back, you realize how stupid the Quarians were to attack them when you realize the Geth would have left them alone, heck they would have helped raise them up but instead they attacked and put them into self-preservation mode.
