Had a couple of updates today relating to Mr.Hudson (not sure of reliability) one where he validates the criticism and the other where he reiterates the point that user feedback will be incorporated into DLC

Links?

Was a very good idea, but please link or explain in words.

It got the snip? Gah!

It's a photoshop of the Starchild's line with some new responses added in.

Starchild: Without us to stop it, synthetics would destroy all organics. We've created this cycle so that never happens. That's the solution.

Response 1: You'll never understand.
Response 2: We don't want to be preserved!
Response 3: Madness!
My pilot's dating a smoking hot fembot!
Response 4: The Geth have only ever acted in self defence, they're our allies!

Image is here:
http://www.shindigge...t-3-fixed-2.jpg

Every option you're offered by the starchild is either arrogant, blind or involves genocide (or synthicide?), and I don't think Shepard would ever agree to any of them.

Control = Arrogance (Vindicating The Illusive Man)
Synthesis = Arrogance (Magically rewriting the DNA of everything in the galaxy)
Destruction = Genocide (Wiping out the Geth who're wholly innocent)

Yup, then they were partially indoctrinated and the Quarians started attacking them, it's discussed during the Geth/Quarian missions.  They basically had no option but to fight back, you realize how stupid the Quarians were to attack them when you realize the Geth would have left them alone, heck they would have helped raise them up but instead they attacked and put them into self-preservation mode.

I hope to god that the DLC is not just snippets of closure, i dont want the bare minimum

I'd suspect that if they opt to make a ending DLC they would probably err on the side of doing it well rather than fast. I think the general consensus is that few people would have a problem waiting for such a DLC, as long as it is done well, officially confirmed that it is being made and we have a reasonable time-frame for its release.

I'd guess that the LAST thing anyone would want is a rushed DLC that simply infuriates everyone.

I think a lot of Hudson's comments about it being an "uplifting" and "bittersweet" ending only apply to the old version they cut. Which I found. http://social.biowar...4299/1#10215581

That and he went with AOL....

It's a miracle he can control anyone at all.

Miracle? No. It's space magic.

Imagine if ME1 had gone like this;

Sovereign; Rudimentary creatures of blood and flesh. You touch my mind, fumbling in ignorance, incapable of understanding.

Shepard; You mean you weren't created by a god-child, who decided that the best way to protect organic life was to create a race of synthetic beings to wipe out organic life every 50,000 years?

*Long pause*

Shepard; I played Mass Effect 3.

Sovereign; You have my sympathies.

Actually burst out laughing.

Bravo! *applause*

Contact@bioware.com Be sure to include #RetakeME3 or #RetakeMassEffect3 in the body somewhere.  It seems to be processing this to the right mailbox a bit faster than the others. :)

As someone who just finished the game late Friday night, I can say that the ending legitimately ruined my weekend. Like many of you, I have been absolutely frustrated, physically repulsed, and emotionally distraught over how this whole ending went down. It has been a negative reaction unlike any I have ever experienced. I have spent hours surfing the internet reading/watching alternate endings and explanations, even taking the time to make my first forum posts. This reaction has been totally puzzling to me, especially when I hold little hope for change. Furthermore, I was completely confused when this video, offering the ending repackaged in the (some would say absurd, overwrought) style of anime, finally brought out the tears I reserved for Shepard's tragic and heroic sacrifice.
 www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAmVVAjZZeM

Finally, things started to make sense when I read this brilliant essay on art and Mass Effect.
http://www.themetaga...oblem-with.html
Whoever linked to this earlier, many thanks for pointing the way to an understanding of why we have had such visceral responses to this nigh-masterpiece's conclusion. The fact that someone can make such an in depth analysis of Mass Effect shows just how far it has pushed the medium as an art form, while also showing how the developers did not achieve their full potential for many in their audience. I hope BioWare has the time and money to take another look at the ending of their opus for I do not think they achieved the desired emotional response from the majority of us.

Until then, I'll hold the line with all of you.

Welcome to the party, I mean support group. That's how I'd guess everyone felt upon completing the game. All I could think about at the sparkly ghost boy was: "Look there, just look the god damn there. There's Geth Ships fighting rEApers!"

Anyhoo, enjoy your stay.

Well, we've finished helping Logistics with some minor tasks and have taken our fill of your creds (gg everyone). Command's sending us out on a recon mission deep behind enemy lines, so don't expect any com chatter for the rest of the night. Hoosier Infiltration Team 137 out.

(Hey Wright, don't forget to turn off your com before you start snoring. We don't need more awkward questions from Command.)

Yeah, after reading the Indoctrination Theory, I think Synthesis may have possibly been the worst choice

Either way I think that was the worst option. My Shep would never play god. I do not even believe a pure renegade Shep would play god like that.

Destroy or Destroy. That is the question.

First time I choose control, after I read the indoctrination theory I felt like a total dick. So I went back the second time, and choose to blow up those bastards. I if the endings don't change I'll probably do that every time.

Yeah...I think I should've picked destroy, but it's not like we had enough information to make and intelligent and informed decision anyway :pinched:

Yeah I picked destroy because I didn't want to play god either. Screw it I'll kill everything!

lol, I went to pick destroy, but then I thought about all of the poor Geth :crying: Not to mention, the Prothean VI talked about how the galaxy had an eternal cycle of destruction, and the Catalyst said I could break that cycle, but now I feel like a dummy.  I probably should've picked destroy, but oh well.  It's not like I'm gonna replay that terrible ending anyway :P

Please god child is a lieing piece of "£"^  it didn't want to die so  it sold you a pack of lies; each one getting worse as he spun them........

They left us with a cliffhanger *imho*   its same as they used to do in the 1930s radio shows; Rockteer; lone Ranger........reason I know; used to listen to NPR with my dad on long trips - he grew up with them and wanted me to hear them to capture the imagination of the spoken word.

ATTENTION TROOPS!!

This is your THIRD hourly reminder to VOTE IN IGN's POLL regarding the ending.

The more we have, the less excuse they have to trash the movement. Please vote. If you don't have a Facebook, make a random one and vote, then don't use it again.

Also, if the thread jumps up by more than 10 pages please repost the link or quote this post, so that people checking in see it too.

Thats what i believe the ending was anyway .... Rushed

I'd happily wait a couple of months so as they can do it properly, but some sort of announcement in the near future would be nice, i could then start the whole trilogy again knowing that a "better" ending is on its way, i dont for the life of me understand why they limited the ending(s) with it being the last one, why not just let it spiral out anywhere like they said they would a couple of months after the release of ME2. And the thing i struggle to get my head around most of all is how the dev's and writers etc etc all failed to notice how poor the ending was, in some cases actually ruining all their hard work over the past 5 years, there's falling over at the final hurdle and then there's Bioware and ME3

Could you all immagine, if the whole ending thing was similar to the Peter Jackson typo?

(For those of you who don't know the budget for LotR was gonna go to a different movie alltogether until someone misread, or misclicked and instead of sending the money to its intended target they sent it to Peter Jackson's proposed LotR movies. And by the time anyone realized where the money went Pete had already set things in motion to get the movie going and spent a good chunk of the money so the company decided "Let him run with it at this point.)

So here we have a Mass effect Typo where they had this ending and another ending that was actually decent.

They clicked on this one and Casey Hudson hasn't even had time to play the game. He finally gets through it and he's like "Holy **** this really WAS that bad." (Makes phone call) "Mac, you remember that asistant I put in charge the day before everything was put into the disks? Yea? Fire him. Right now."

Just play bagpipes backwards and send the sound back along his signal...should disable him for a few days.

Oh...and we'll appreciate your sacrifice.  To choose which song the bagpipes will play, pick either Blue,  Green,  or Red.

So any chance we will get them to comment tomorrow? I sure freaking hope so. I'm tired of stressing over this! I can't play this game a second time without knowing they're going to make it actually.. worth my time.
