And I didn't like Spike, so...ahm...Angel all the way <3

But then Angel stopped wanting to be Angel whereas Spike clearly loved being Spike even in Muppet form...huh it seems I have a bit of left over resentment from the Angel finale too...but not as much as I'll feel for ME3.  "Angel, pick one of these skittles."  At least Whedon never tried that.

This might be an interesting update. It has probably been posted already, but I highly doubt everyone winds up seeing every comment.

Buffy had a phenomenal ending. 2 Years after the events of season 5.

I do know that, I have watched Buffy countless times and loved the ending, BUT (not shouting just emphasising) the end of season 5 would have been a good ending if Shepard did indeed HAVE (again not shouting) to die.

I know. Oh man, how I miss watching Buffy...the ending left it open for anything new, but at the same time it ended the series quite well.
But they do have season eight (and nine) in comic version. Not as awesome as the movie, but at least they explained what happened afterwards without having to make a whole TV series.

wait. am I giving bad ideas to Bioware?
Bioware, we do not want a comic series on ME universe to explain who the Reapers are, ok?

It's just a repost of a reposted discussion thread. Pay it no heed.

I digress! This sounds like we have more on our side! And more adherants to the Indoctrination Theory!

For all intents and purposes Buffy did indeed die at the end of Season 5, I'm not saying that it's perfect I'm just saying that the reactions and the way Buffy has the voice over of telling them she loves them all and they have to look out for each other ect is valid in the ME universe, I prefer Angel too...but the way Spike reacts to Buffy's death is the way that (in my case) Kaidan should have acted you know?

Oh, the ending of Angel. I was going to mention that. That was almost like a ME3 ending...except we will never know if Angel died in the battle. It's like ending ME3 when we are about to go fight the Reapers.

Damnit, now I can't stop thinking about Shepard going into labor while Kaiden tries (and fails) to reassure her!

Don't worry, we're here.  Even if they do, we'll help burn some stuff down and then for years and years we'll argue about it to the point of ridiculousity.  That's what families do, have silly fights and then argue about who was wrong and who won the fight.  Odd similiarities between that and this.

Speaking of TVTropes, here's my take on the degree to which just one little part of the ending has issues. There is nothing wrong with tropes, per se, but when a narrative is just one sequence of tired tropes clumsily strung together, I'd say we have a problem. In this case, the "trope density" is off the charts:

[...stuff happens and...]
Shepard is, for the first time, introduced to a Sufficiently Advanced Alien, an Energy Being who, to take A Form You Are Comfortable With appears as an Adorably Precocious Child. This being, an ancient Artificial Intelligence, explains that he has seen so many Robot Wars across the millenia that, in an attempt to resolve the situation, he developed a Reset Button solution. In doing so, however, he has become a Well-Intentioned Extremist who sees the struggle between organics and synthetics as an Order vs Chaos problem in which his role is to restore order. His solution, creation of the Reapers, required him to Jump Off the Slippery Slope and accept that The Revolution Will Not Be Civilized; the most advanced civilzations will be periodically "processed" by this Horde of Alien Locusts to short-circuit the Robot War cycle.

After explaining I Did What I Had To Do (which may qualify as a bizarre twist on the Hannibal Lecture), the being claims (in a lightning-fast E = MC Hammer moment) that Shepard's presence "changes things," and presents him/her with a set of Final Solution choices. Each of these choices casually demands that Shepard cross his/her own Moral Event Horizon by presenting catastrophic variations on an End of the World As We Know It solution initiated via a Big Red Button Self-Destruct Mechanism.

In an act of Heroic Sacrifice, without a word of questioning, objection, or realization that "I Forgot I Could Change the Rules," Shepard selects an option and ends the trilogy with a Dying Moment of Awesome.

Thank you! :D

REAL CANON ENDING:

It opens with Shepard rushing the Citadel, and Zaeed standing in a building near him. Shepard gets Zapped, and Zaeed jumps into action. However, on the way to the laser, he sees 25 pregnant orphans. The orphans look funny, so he wastes no time. They look indoctrinated so he throws 5 grenades to stun them, and quickly steals an alliance tank. He sets the core to explode and jumps out at the last minute. The miniature nuclear explosion is enough to kill the pregnant orphans. However, Zaeed is now getting attacked by a reaper.

He quickly grabs a first contact war veteran, who is also pregnant, has no legs, is blind, and has chapped lips. He throws the veteran to distract the reaper and bolts it. He sees a flower shop, currently housing sick children. He sets the mechanical flowers on a time bomb setting, and runs. The reaper (which strangely looks like an alliance rescue shuttle) lands for the children, but the explosion kills both the children and the reaper.

Zaeed again leaps into action and enters the laser. He finds The illusive man, who threatens Zaeed. Zaeed quickly removes TIM's left ventricle and half of his spleen with a quick blue suns body chop. TIM falls to the ground but Zaeed notices his finger twitch. He theorizes that TIM is a nuclear device, and quickly rides to the top of the citadel. As the kid approaches Zaeed, he gets kicked in the face and falls to the floor. Zaeed Throws TIM's body into the tube, and initiates the destruction of the reapers. However, because of TIM's presence, it goes into overload. Zaeed jumps off of the citadel and grabs onto an evac shuttle carrying Sick, Crippled, Blind, Veteran, Pregnant Orphans. Seeing he needs to lessen the load to increase speed, he kicks out all of the orphans into space. He later returns, and learns he is the only one left alive. That takes him back.

/vg/s take on Mass Effect 3

I agree we DO NOT WANT A COMIC (not yelling just emphasising) (though I actually still have n clue what happened to Angel and co, I don't read comics)
