Yeah I gotta admit I feel like I am in a therapy group too, which isn't a bad thing I think I would be a state if I didn't have you guys to talk to, though I now officially have my dad to talk to about it and he is not happy at all. I also just want the choice of a happy ending I mean there literally was one ending, choose your colour and die, with your squad being chicken sh*** and running away via space magic.

I do too! Haha. This is fun. I haven't been on a forum like this ever since I was in middle school or something :P

I know! That was not a democratic ending; we didn't pick the ending, they did...we picked the color we wanted to see while Shepard exploded/disintegrated/evaporated...:(

Just nit-picking, but you forgot Insane Troll Logic, Sudden Downer Ending, and Sequel Hook.

LOL -- Knew I couldn't possibly get 'em all -- you are correct!!!
Also a borderline example of Rocks Fall, Everybody Dies. That one's debatable, I guess...

Anything to help out a fellow troper! And I wouldn't say that one is debatable. I mean, someone's made a ME3 entry for Inferred Holocaust...

Who wouldn't want to be adopted by Shepard?!

Sudden thought here! Since Shep saves every race in the Galaxy... what if she/he adopted a child from every race as well? And had another with whoever your LI is, if thats possible...

I dunno... having my school bus attacked by Cerberus every week might get old quick haha

I don't know, do you think Cerberus would mess with Shep's kids at all? I mean would you want to face the wrath of the person who single handedly brought the galaxy together, talked both TIM and Saren, who were both indoctrinated at the time, to shooting themseleves? I mean seriously, Cerberus wouldn't want to go anywhere near that bus, it would have Shadow Broker guards all around it, since my LI is Liara. Plus I have a feeling Cerberus woould be spending most of its time on the run from the authorities, not targeting a school bus full of Sheps kids....

I just finished the game tonight. Is it sad I spent years just hoping my Shep would get to retire to that little place on Intai'sei with Liara? I didn't expect a Disney ending. I expected years of rebuilding. I just wanted to do it with my squad at my side. I beat all three of these games on Insanity. I took on four banshees at once, killed reapers - and I end up following the half-baked mutterings of some glowy punk kid?

I get why people see us as entitled, but they need to understand, Bioware had us put hundreds of hours of effort into these games. It's as much our work as theirs, that's the interactive nature of this media.

We have the right to see this finished properly.

-Your story about the ancient machine race of doom would sound crazy to anyone sane
-You nuked a batarian spiral arm.
-Every shop was annoying because it's your favorite on the station
-You interject yourself into private conversations at random
-You apparently died once already

They have every right to treat you the way they do, if not worse.

But I digress, if you want to hate the residents and belittle their terrible unfair deaths, that's your own business. I hate the Krogan and I hate the Quarians, but I don't make it a point to kill them off or point out how lulz their deaths were because they annoyed me.

Yeah, maybe...then again I was right about everything. And none of the shops were my favourite on the station, they just gave me discounts. As for the interjections, hey, at least I gave them a resolution, no?

I never said I hated them, nor do I find it amusing that they died, probably quite horrifically. It's unfortunate but I just don't particularly mourn their passing as a large portion of them irritated me with their wilful ignorance and intentional blindness. Somehow I don't think it's going to hurt their feelings.

Then we can agree to disagree. I find your views horrific and ignorant, but you are entitled to them. I'm quite happy I can put aside my extreme hatred of Quarians to save them, however. Some of us are just better at handling those who irritate us for mundane reasons, I suppose.

Honestly, I'm not sure of anything. They're not exactly predictable and open about anything. I'm just going to sit around and wait for them to say something...until then, you'll see me here a lot ;)

It is cheesy, I know, but if I could time that right... I wonder if it would cause the game AI to gain sentience and shoot itself from being driven insane by a neverending chorus of Shep :)

Who said anything about that?

I'm personally expecting more PR and terrible news articles. I doubt we'll hear anything about an ending for a week or two at least.

I would be absolutely shocked if they did.

Once again, any official announcement is, IMHO, not likely to be made until PAX East on 8 April.

So I've been working on a new playthrough from 1-3 in an attempt tp maximize my war assets in sP so I can get the breathe ending.

Is it sad that I'm enjoying running circles around Thresher maws, waiting for the slow *** Mako shields to regenerate and playing minigames for my resources MORE than the ending(s) of ME3?

Which reminds me. I know Joker was being sarcastic but I think he had a GREAT idea. Why *can't* we have a giant gun that fires thresher maws at the reapers? If you read the lore about them, their spores travel infinitely through space and can survive pretty much everything till they start growing. Why have we not been collecting and spores and training a thresher maw army or something. :P It would have been much more satisfying that connecting to star child. :P

Speaking of TVTropes, here's my take on the degree to which just one little part of the ending has issues. There is nothing wrong with tropes, per se, but when a narrative is just one sequence of tired tropes clumsily strung together, I'd say we have a problem. In this case, the "trope density" is off the charts:

[...stuff happens and...]
Shepard is, for the first time, introduced to a Sufficiently Advanced Alien, an Energy Being who, to take A Form You Are Comfortable With appears as an Adorably Precocious Child. This being, an ancient Artificial Intelligence, explains that he has seen so many Robot Wars across the millenia that, in an attempt to resolve the situation, he developed a Reset Button solution. In doing so, however, he has become a Well-Intentioned Extremist who sees the struggle between organics and synthetics as an Order vs Chaos problem in which his role is to restore order. His solution, creation of the Reapers, required him to Jump Off the Slippery Slope and accept that The Revolution Will Not Be Civilized; the most advanced civilzations will be periodically "processed" by this Horde of Alien Locusts to short-circuit the Robot War cycle.

After explaining I Did What I Had To Do (which may qualify as a bizarre twist on the Hannibal Lecture), the being claims (in a lightning-fast E = MC Hammer moment) that Shepard's presence "changes things," and presents him/her with a set of Final Solution choices. Each of these choices casually demands that Shepard cross his/her own Moral Event Horizon by presenting catastrophic variations on an End of the World As We Know It solution initiated via a Big Red Button Self-Destruct Mechanism.

In an act of Heroic Sacrifice, without a word of questioning, objection, or realization that "I Forgot I Could Change the Rules," Shepard selects an option and ends the trilogy with a Dying Moment of Awesome.

Look at all that yellow! :o

Seriously, though, +1.

Honestly, I kinda fear for the safety of those who will be working the Mass Effect 3/EA/Bioware booth there... Been a while since I've seen this level of fan rage.

And come to think of it... I was kinda hoping to see the noble ship Qwib Qwib take down a couple reapers.
