So we can't get the ending we want after all?

Just noting another thing that bothers me about the ending. So, the Citadel explodes over Earth. Wouldn't that mean that the pieces would eventually fall to the surface of the planet and completely devastate it even further? Seems like it would be a lot worse than any asteroid impact I can imagine. Thoughts?
It's just another case of Implied Holocaust.
I guess it also depends on how far away the Citadel is from Earth's surface. The moon is actually moving away from Earth as we speak rather than towards it. I'm not physicist so all I can do is guess. Just another reason I wouldn't mind seeing a different ending.
Actually I don't remember, was it the Citadel that was a mass relay or the statue? Either way when it's explodes wouldn't that destroy Earth? Even a small relay (assuming it's the statue) would cause a mini nova right?. (I'm not sure, I didn't even know there was an arrival DLC, kicking myself now, because I can't buy it until Bioware makes this right. hrmph)
Seriously, looking at all the problems you're discussing hurts my brain. This games ending suffers from the most absolutely staggering level of problems I've ever seen.

...so Earth is doubly screwed, I guess.
The Citadel is pretty huge too. So even if there wasn't about to be a super nova on the surface of the earth, the amount of dust kicked up would still probably block out the sun.

Well, I am a facebook obsessed person...or was, until this whole thing started and now I access BSN more than facebook (actually, I don't think I've posted anything in the past 2 weeks)
Don't worry, I voted. I would vote 200 times if I coud...
Hmmm....am I enough of a chud to sign up for a dummy email account just to sign up for a dummy FB account to add a 1 to the dislike pile knowing that there are literally tens of thousands of people who will do so legitimately....
Yes. Yes I believe I am. Unfortunately I'm far too busy on the board posting about how fast I would tap an asari knowing full well she's not technically a female, that I would be shunned by human society and could possibly contract space AIDS.
Consider yourselves lucky, BW.
Don't beat yourself up mate, I have no intention of selling out to Failbook just for one more hit on a poll.
The implications of a Failbook-Google merger are, quite frankly, scary.

Without ever hearing anything about the uproar over the ending, I finished the game and thought "huh....well that was weird". Jumped online really quick to see if I was the only one.
HA!
After wading through tons of posts, news updates, hilarity and the like, here are my quick thoughts:
-Thoroughly enjoyed the game. Game play and story were top notch (for the most part). I am not a huge Mass Effect fanboy by any means, but was completely sucked in to the story and burned through it faster than I have a game in a long time.
-The slogan on all the marketing was "Take Back Earth" and while we did make it back to Earth and the battles were sweet, it just did not live up to my expectations. I gathered all these War Assets! I expected to see at least a scene for each race blasting some Reapers! I remember when I got the VERY minor "Volus Bombing Squadron" and thought to myself -"I wonder If I will get to see those guys in action, probably not, but maybe".
HA!
Shocked I didn't even see the major guys. In all, the big, giant, epic, ending battle that the whole game built towards was sort of a flop.
-The end made NO SENSE. I don't care if you liked it or not, the bigger fish to fry is that it didnt even connect, pacing wise, to how the prior 3 games flowed. The entire game, up the giant sky beam, was complete and total fan service. I commend the writing staff for getting all the old characters in and giving them each an epic scene. Even brought back really minor ones and quick cameos. They even wrote in internet memes and jokes for the fans ("I'm Garrus Vakarian and...", "big, stupid jellyfish", countless Garrus calibrations jokes, ETC). BUT the ending was WAAAY out left field! As a business built on excellence, which is apparent by the quality of the last games, there is NO WAY you could have viewed the end, looked around, and said "Yup...nailed it" NO WAY. The whole end - even some of the Earth parts, were half-assed. Bioware either ran out of time, money or something, but regardless, it was half-assed. For the final act of a 150 hour adventure, they messed up big.
-In the end, I dont have a suggestion for how to end it. I do not think fans should give input on how to end it. Get your writers to write a coherent ending on par with the content you have already released. All I wanted was to TAKE BACK EARTH HOORAHH - turn off my console and say "Man, that was epic". Instead I turned it off confused, annoyed, and not feeling good about what I had just seen.
Kudos to everybody for creating these movements and standing up to the issue. We have to remember that this is a business decision for EA & Bioware now. The people who created the game wont be the ones who decide to change anything. It will come down to short and long term profit, no doubt about it. (Which is not a bad thing, this is a company we are dealing with, whose #1 goal is, and should be, to create profit for shareholders.) Just direct energies towards the business and not whomever wrote/designed/directed the game.
Anyway,
Keep it up everyone. Pretty cool stuff going on. Proud of everyone standing up and having coherent discussion.

They are females by sex (according to the Codex); Liara tells Shep. in ME1 that they have no conception of gender.

You don't want Shep to be surrounded by a crowd of Quarian kids in the little suits?
What about baby krogans that are already capable of kneecapping someone?
Why did I picture a box of baby Krogans constantly headbutting each other and compare it to a box of kittens wrestling?

So out doing errands today and I specifically looked at the gaming magazines to see what the reviews for ME3 would not just a preview. Not a single one has a review. Is that normal for a game that came out 2 weeks ago?

How well do you think Shep and Liara could raise a baby Krogan?
They'd make wonderful parents for a baby krogan. Especially with Wrex as a role-model and de facto "uncle."
He did call FemShep a sister, and I'm guessing by default here, that Male Shep is a "brother" so that would make sense... Oh that means that Eve, or Urdnot Bakara would be an Aunt, and they'd have a little Krogan named Mordin, who would be a cousin... O.o xD damn that's just too funny!
To quote Aethyta: "That's what I'm here for, babe..."
And the fact Tali and Garrus are pretty much Shepards pals for life along with Liara. It would be a really crazy family tree.
Wrex - Bakara - Shepard - Garrus - Tali - Liara (as if they were all siblings XD)
And Grunt would be like a 'son'. Random cousin to Shepard's kids. Pretty much a whole galaxy family.
So lets see... Someone needs to draw multiple Shepard Family trees, with each of the LI's as a spouse... xD That would just be awesome to look at... See how everyone is interconected...

I don't think they really went supernova. I think it's more like they overloaded and broke apart.

I can't play MP anymore, guys. Whenever I see a Marauder all I can think is "Marauder Shields, I'll never forget you". I have trouble pulling the trigger.
HAHAHAHAHA! I didn't even think of that!
Guess I'm going to have to never play against the reapers if I ever do MP again. No way I can justify taking down MS when he's basically a Reaper Garrus with Bro upgrades.

Those goodbyes were the highlight of the whole game, seriously. It was so sad and well written...Bioware made an awesome job up until that point.
And when Kaidan said "And this is good bye" I cried...probably because I knew there was no way I would see any of them together again (yeah, I had watched the endings online). Thanks, Bioware <_<

... Course now I'm sad because aside from being a Shenko fan I also like the Garrus romance and while he was interested in wanting to know what a Turian-Human baby would look like Shepard suggests adoption in which case he said that there should be plenty of baby krogans after the war.

I know lol, we were laughing about the whole thing in different thread. In reality, it's all pretty irrelevant. You could have told me they grew her out of toenail fungus of a hanar (not unlike Miranda now that I think about it) and I'd still be okay with that.
