It certainly seems like another hole in their defense.

I'm cautiously optimistic, but then again my defense of this line was entered into with full knowledge that it would be a long haul for us.

Heh, the kids that my Shep has, would be, A) powerful biotics due to Liara, and B) really good with weapons and tech since my Shep's an Infiltrator... Love that Black Widow.... *clutches one thight to self*

Holding the line means actually HOLDING IT outside of where people agree with you almost unanimously.

Is it a coincidence that the comments in favor are.......rather senseless?

Variations on these three themes:
'An art work is an artwork. BioWare has got everyone talking about their ending. That is a successful artwork.'
'I liked it, so shut up'
'It couldn't have ended any other way'

i will stealthpost to facebook.

ATTENTION TROOPS.

This is my 6th and last reminder to vote on the IGN Facebook page, because if you don't, idiots will, and we don't want that.

We need to show IGN that the majority are not satisfied with the ending. I would appreciate it if someone who can post this same message with the same link every hour or so for the next 8 hours would do so, as I need to go to sleep and I think it's incredibly important that people popping into the thread every once and a while are alerted to the poll so we can really crank up the numbers.

With regard to what was on the Facebook/Twitter - it was a bot. Jessica Merizan has said so on her Twitter.. I would add that her Twitter is actually run by her, and not a bot.

I get that we can feel defeated by these things every once in a while, because the ending was already so soul-raping. But if people are going to throw a defeatist fit every time something like this happens, you may as well leave now. This is not a fight we're going to win by losing faith every 5 minutes.

Keep your cool, have patience, keep saying what you didn't like about the ending, vote in the polls, spread the message and HOLD. THE. LINE.

This is trench warfare, people. The minute you try to flee the trench for the rear areas, the enemy will cut you down.

Metaphorically-speaking, that is.

So just curious did you all sit through the credits? Did anyone get Shep gasping for air as the final scene before the credits? The reason I ask is because there seems to be a lot of Shep is dead and the endings don't make sense going on. Now I agree that the endings are stupid, I choice to destroy the Reapers, the spokey cloaked child said nothing about the Relay's exploding or becoming useless. Although the end of the game was lackluster I am not going to let it take away from the game as a whole. This is one of those times the old adage "Its not about the destination but the journey" really holds up.

I got the Shepard lives ending.  Honestly, it wasnt until I saw the Normandy retreating with my squad on board that I was like "Wait a damn minute!!"

Yes, I still love the series.  And I will continue to play it (offline...lol) but I cant bring myself to watch that ending again.  I'd rather make it up in my own head.

How sad is that.

I don't think its sad at all, it shows a really creative side, remember what Prof. Mordin said, without culture/creativity, civilzation stagnats. Sadly in this day and age the few people are making up their own stories and just rehashing what someone before them have done.

On a side note I don't see the Normandy as "running" for all we know a general retreat or evacuation of the area was order after the crucible was seen doing whatever it did. Also even if it wasn't my Shep would expect nothing less from Joker then to see to the safety of the Normandy and her crew in my appsence.

Another thing, I don't see anything wrong with the squad being back on the Normandy, after they were really no where in sight when Harbinger "blasted" you and who knows how long Shep and Anderson were out when the beamed to the Citadel, maybe a shuttle picked up the squad and returned them to Normandy.

Dang just thought of something else, did anyone else notice in the pan away when TIM and Anderson where on the platform that Shepard was no where to be seen. Granted this can be a bug, but what if you weren't there and more witnessing everything. I might have to ponder these implications more.

Good night and Good luck BSN.

Hold strong, it is only a matter of time. They will give us something at this point because they have to, to many people are upset. Now will that be something we all like?

Saddly we have many divisions here
1) Leave the ending group (10%)
2) Explain the ending better group
3) Create a new ending group but keep the same sad overtones.
4) Create a new HAPPIER ending group

Which one of those options offends the least amount of people? That will be what happens.
I personally want #4...

Well no actually people really aren't arguing for any specific endings that they, in particular, would like to see. The core demand is that the ending sequence make some sense.
Once a logically sound 'ending framework' is in place, then it should be possible to get a wide array of outcomes; but the important thing is that the ending has to make some sense first.

The best thing about this is that it's not our job to come up with a method to satisfy all BioWare's customers... That's BW's job. If it takes creating 3 additional endings - then that's what it takes, it's up to them to crunch the numbers and see if it's possible. Whatever you think about the ending, whether you have a problem with it being lore-shattering, too bleak, too sad, too short or just stupid - you are a Lineholder, you are another dissatisfied customer that's causing an uproar and that's a great thing for our chances of getting something new, logical and acceptable.

Basically all of this may be summed up as
1) Give as multiple endings, "good" and "bad", which will depend on our choices throughout the trilogy, will show us consequences of our actions, will not contain sudden out-of-character action and will make some sense. And make war assets be seen fighting reapers in epic battle scenes because right now EMS is nothing more than a bunch of numbers.
2) Nah, there's nothing more really.

You really believe that? They were most likely just testing the waters. If it would have worked they had contined to Ninja delete/hide stuff.

It didn't so now they name an unspecific fallout guy. Poor guy, without any clue and instruction, he was given rights to mod the site. Yeah... as if.

Really, don't buy into that stuff. Its just aimed to get you to be understanding.

You know... "it was that new guys fault" and everyone goes like "Ahh the new guy, well stuff like that happens, lets not be upset about it. He was new after all".

You don't let people unbriefed at sensitive ends of your Online Presence. That stuff doesn't happen in a professional buisness. People either are supervised or trained.

Years ago i worked for AOL, you had to do a trainings course 4 weekend long training course before you even were allowed to even touch official boards. There are no new guys making mistakes!

Either way I think the damage is already done, although I'm inclined to agree with you. Maybe not done purposefully, but form someone worked a little too much over the weekend and finally had enough.

Whether they meant to or not they definitely gave some more fuel to the fire, and when the forums were starting to slow down a bit too. Oh well, their loss.

Perhaps you're right. But them testing the waters is alot more than we've had since this whole thing began. And they realise **** is still very much hitting the fan and the endings really are that bad to get such a knee jerk angry reaction from people.

Way I see it, they just took a hit. Maybe on purpose but now they know that "Yea, damn this could be a real problem."

Meaning that either way, its a step forward

That is a very good point to bring up.

We're putting the screws to them, but we have to keep the pressure on and take every opportunity available to increase it. When they cave, not if, it will then be their responsibility to deliver the goods. They know the score as much as we do if not more, and if they pledge themselves to fixing this mess, then they know that they have to do so in a meaningful way.

Because as agthunter said, if they promise and don't deliver, they are effectively committing Sudden Death.
