I keep reading here and there comments left by people who complain about the ending but do so in a excessively specific way.

We have to generalize our views! Each of us has his own personal ending in mind but as a collective we must be work on not letting all this become a "I want this and that and this!" kind of protest. This IS and MUST BE a sensible protest, where we act as one.

Very true and well said! We can want what we want but it undermines the cause to demand a shopping list of changes.

Stay sensible, stay civil, stay heard!

* Mass Effect is an interactive video game providing a detailed framework within which the player may create a unique story

* A major concept of the Mass Effect games is that your choices significantly affect the outcome of the story

* Another major concept of the Mass Effect games is success in the face of seemingly impossible odds

We believe:

    * That it is the right of the writers and developers of the Mass Effect series to end that series however they see fit

However, we also believe that the currently available endings to the series:

*Do not provide the wide range of possible outcomes that we have come to expect from a Mass Effect game

   * Do not provide a sense of succeeding against impossible odds

    * Do not provide a sense of closure with regard to the universe and characters we have become attached to

    * Do not provide an explanation of events up to the ending which maintains consistency with the overall story

We therefore respectfully request additional endings be added to the game which provide:

   * A more complete explanation of the story events

   * An explaination of the outcome of the decisions made, especially with regard to the planets, races, and companions detailed throughout the series

  * A heroic ending which provides a better sense of accomplishment

That is pasted from the retake mass effect page and charity drive, I agree with this. this is the statement Bioware is reading.

Edit- cut some of the spacing.

Thank you, I didn't know about this ^^

I like the bulleted post about what we're actually looking for, granted. I would also hope a heroic ending would also mean a happy one where I get mah blue babies >____> And not... Space magic...

We want an ending without plotholes, which doesn't have to resort to a deus ex machina plot twist to put an end to the story (also we all kind of agree that the Normandy and coward screw scene is pitiful).

Keep it civil and hold the line!

Please read this post on EA/Bioware PR damage control's analysis, it's a must! It will help us in this fight!

Still watching Buffy, and it was the musical episode "Once More With Feeling" and the demon guy changes his suit colour from red to blue and I turned round and went "Now all he has to do is change it to green and that will be the perfect ending to ME3 according to Bioware" it seems accurate lol

What do you guys think? Could this get me filtered?

Not sure how the filters are going to take the word "murder". :P

To be perfectly honest I think that saying that the ending is something you "will not tolerate" is going to harm your credibility, because it would be too easy for someone to spin that as entitlement. I appreciate you probably want to be firm in getting your point across, but I would stick to things like disappointment, something equally negative but not aggressive, things that would be harder to use as ammunition for the opposition.

Yep Geth responded me almost immedately. "Littteral murder" is a good definition for what they have done to Mass Effect, imo. BTW yeah tha might be a good idea to share what we wrote to them: it might help other ppl who want to contact them about the endings.

Would you like to upload a letter/email copy?
I don't mind make a page at my Retake ME3 resource site with all the letters/email of BSN users.

That way maybe they cannot try to not see em and the other people of the movement or Game site can read em.

Updated my post with email text, Page 1840(!!!).

Well as I said I didn't post he entire thing due to private information. So it's a bit out of context.

But you are right about it not perhaps being the smartest move.

In the poll of one of the leading German Video Game Magazines, the number of users who think that the "ending ruined the trilogy" is raising. Right now it is at 55%. 8,6% say that they are disappointed with the ending. 21,6% haven't beaten the game yet.

http://www.gamestar....id=842&pk=13537

The more people finish the game the more disagree with the ending. This is good news.

I am happy about that, even more so as Gamestar is still defending the ending and claim that it is not leaving open questions. That BW/EA haven't delivered what they committed to is not even questioned by them.

No no, by all means go ahead and write. The murder thing and their filters I would not really know about so don't take my word on that. I mainly just wanted to advise you to be careful about the language you use. Ultimately it's your call, and good on you for making your voice heard. :)

This was my email to Bioware....it sucks <_<

Dear Sir/Madam,

As a consumer of the Mass Effect franchise, I am distraught and left confused by the way you left this product. The ending to Mass Effect 3 goes against everything we as consumers were promised before release, we were promised that out choices in the last two games would matter and yet they did not. Mass Effect 3 was a brilliant game up to the last 10 mins where the game didn't make any sense, the ending not only goes against everything Mass Effect is about but it goes again's Commander Shepards nature that in the end all he/she does is submit to the catalyst. Please make no mistake that we as customers are feeling "entitled" because we do not feel that way, we simply do not understand the ending to Mass Effect 3 and it makes the rest of the games pointless when it all ends the same way no matter what you do. I personally as a customer and consumer of this product request a better ending than the one we got, one that gives the game closure and makes sense of all the plot holes the game leaves us with at the end, the ending is nonsensical and as one of the many consumers of this product I believe that we should get what was promised to us even before the game was released: Closure.

Regards,
[my name here]
(Upset Mass Effect fan)

For those rejoining the line: It's 3:25 AM in Edmonton, 4:25 AM in Austin, and 5:25 AM in Montreal, so it'll be a while before the gears start turning at BioWare. I'm also doubtful that they would make any kind of statement on a Monday. But they've surprised me before.

Be patient. Be strong.

Hold the line...

Well it is already sent, but I can assure you I carfully thought about that part, but ultimatly felt it was important for the context of the e-mail. I must have spent atleast an hour writing the e-mail.

I doubt we will see anything until the end of the week. Lots and lots of damagecontrol to do before they dare to try and solve this debacle.

Oh, I see, either Gamestar reviewers have still not finished the game, or they are too ashamed to admit they hadn't done so in the first place. Or maybe they are just happy with 'space magic/computer god/because' answer.

Well, at least Gamestar provided me with the best German sentence ever: Dieses Ende hat die ganze Serie kaputt gemacht. Something about the German perfect construction really drives the point cross.
