I think the problem is that they lost sight of the fact that it was a story for other people to enjoy. They decided the story would end in a certain way, regardless of how others might feel about it.

We are all different. We all wanted different things from the story. That's why it was interactive, to give us the choices we wanted.

Unfortunately they blinkered themselves and forgot that at the end.

I dont think so. Fallout 3's ending what changed and another game has been mentioned before too.

Nor did I, but it can be helpful, since it puts some pressure on Bioware to make a statement about the issue. I think the article is kinda deliberately of cue, since 'non-committal mmmph' is not news worthy, but that's also where the potential pressure comes from, since that's precisely the kind of news which demand some kind of statement from the company.

I prefer reading comments on Finnish sites, since all English ones are so politely worded x)
I'd post rough translations of some of the counter-comments to the AI-argument, but It'd probably get me banned so fast as to break some kind of record. 

I'll just say that I have never seen such verbal acrobatics (albeit nc-17 acrobatics) in comments for the longest time, and leave it at that. Just remember, AI-argumenters are either trolling, and even if not, they are still a minority

Indeed. I'd totally respect the Artistic vision argument IF...

It was the product of one person.
It wasn't a committee-generated product.
It wasn't intended for commercial gain.

but most importantly I'd go with that Arty nonsense....

And as for artistic integrity....

How much integrity do you have if you pick up a stock image from the internet and copy it for your background at the end. I'm talking about this:

Well when its the only thing they have, what are they going to do... I just laugh at how absurdly stupid they sound trying to use the same criteria for judging a movie or a book to a video game.  Its like using  Baskball rules at a Football game both are sports but they are vastly different.

In the same way a movie is considered art, but what needs to be remembered here is the developers are handing over the paint brush to the player to complete that art through our choices, unlike movies we have a lot of input on this particular art.
