True, but is the tone of the group that itches me. Fact is they say The petitioners do not speak for all fans"... As if we were just a few "angry little childrens demanding a little ponny happy ending".

Someone should tell that guy that, yeah, we do not speak for all fans... just the whole majority of them. And they call us "entitled"... look who's talking now.

That is a little annoying. I don't think we've ever made a point of pretending to be representative of all fans. They're entitled to their opinion of course but I get the feeling there are going to be people there who join to complain about us as much as to support the ending. It hasn't taken long for an insult to appear on their wall (complaining about online complaining, in an online group no less).

I won't say any more about that however. Let's let them do their thing and we'll do ours, with respect.

We're just a group of people with the same common grievances. I don't recall anyone ever saying "EVERYONE HATES THE ENDINGS!' I'm pretty sure many of us acknowledge that there are those who like the endings and that's fine. I'm glad that someone out there liked it and I wish I could feel the same as they do.

Unless they too do something positive about their own movement, they just seem like the type of people who band together for the sake of doing so.

One more Finnish lurker hopping in the line and holding it.

I have been thinking a lot what BioEAware might do to fix this issue. They have gotten quite a bit of negative publicity considering the endings (that were crap by all definitions). I think the best course of action for them is to make something like an Mass Effect 3 - Directors Cut -edition. They could even sell it to many loyal fans as an retail box (non digital) collectors edition version.

But they should also give one digitally free for all unhappy fans via patch or dlc. This way Bioware can keep a lot of brand loyal customers happy - more than a huge marketing budget will ever accomplish.

Also I must congratulate the whole movement for the excellent job you guys have done! Never in my life have I seen such binding with fans from all over the world. Bio is listening now and we need to keep the message heard!

 A little reminder!

Edit your posts so we don't end up with huge quote trees.
It's easier to read like that.
And we can't risk having our thread closed.

I'd like to take a moment to ask people with facebook to consider doing the following:

Visit Clint Mansell's facebook page and thank him for his ME3 music score, or just "like" the page.

DO NOT use it to slag off ME3. I don't want that. But the man made some incredibly haunting pieces of music for the game and, quite frankly, deserves credit for that because it is one of the best things about it.

His page is here:

That "Keep Mass Effect!" movement is a nice attempt, it will never grow to our size though.
I mean, I talked to like what, 15 people in the past 4 days about the ME3 ending from which 12 people weren't even Bioware fans, and they all said the end was cra* and they want it to change since they bought the game for the matter of decision, which was not given there.

We are 60.000 people here on the Forums after close to 1 1/2 week. Including everyone who did not vote by now, or like me, who know people who are upset but don't want to start speaking in english because they can't, including Japanese people and every other language...we are close to the 200.000 mark.

Now, they got...27. Good job boys!

No, seriously. We are not the "Minority who thinks the game should be changed.". We are the majority who thinks "The endings should vary and change.".

Nice try, but it won't work, because we are much MUCH more then them.

Hold the Line!

Odd, everything I've seen shows that Garrus has/had no problem with Kaidan. I don't wish to derail the thread but I'm truly curious. When you have some time, (and if you recall) can you pm what branches your diagloue took? Because I'd dearly love to see some fighting over me. :P

If we stay civil and this Facebook anti-retakeME3 stoop to insults, as already is happening, then they are shooting themselves in the foot. Good for them that they enjoyed the ending, sad for them that they cannot accept that others do not agree.

Opinions cannot be false. That's why they're opinions. You may find them bull****, and that's your opinion.

'Opinions' are tentative claims to truth, and can indeed be false.

Opinions can be based on false or incomplete information, and thus reduced in relevance. However, that doesn't mean the person uttering the opinion isn't entitled to have one.

When speaking of ME3 endings it's hard to determine whether anything is true or false. Many opinions uttered are based on personal preference. But there are facts, too: Are there major plot holes? Yes (substantial evidence of this has been provided across various articles and youtube videos). Is the writing incoherent? Yes (Again, evidence provided across multiple platforms). Are many players disappointed by the endings? Yes (just look at the polls).

I don't mind if someone liked the ending. To be honest, I'm happy for them and glad that they enjoyed the current resolution of the series. However, I find it very tiring when people go to forums and start discrediting the posts and opinions of others simply because they don't agree with them. There was a post on the general forums recently where a few users thought it was a good idea to suggest to a disappointed player to seek professional assistance because no one could possibly be depressed about the ending. I really had to stop myself from writing something very disrespectful in return.

None of us here needs to go on and attack others just attain a feeling of superiority. Keep it civil. Hold the line.

Best Regards and Holding the Line. :wizard:

Don't really want to go off subject and go into discussion here.  But, when an opinion states purported 'facts', it is the fact that can be incorrect. However, your opinion based on erroneous facts is still just an opinion.

The point is not whether there 'are' opinions; the point is whether truth and falsity applies to them.

A 'fact' cannot be incorrect; claims that thus-and-so-is-a-fact can be correct or false.

And that's what I said: An opinion contains a claim that thus-and-so-is-a-fact. That claim can be true or false. An opinion, as a tentative claim to truth, can fail, or it can be promoted into 'knowledge of the fact'.

If what you're saying is true, you can end any discussion arbitrarily on a 'the Dude' moment, and go, "yeah, well, that's just...like...your opinion man".

Everyone's entitled to their opinions, to be sure; but all opinions aren't on an equal footing.

the fun part is, that it enrages them to the point where they look bad.....

also, their movement, continues to draw more attention to ours, so that's a win

also when they get to the point of having 70k donated to a children's charity they'll probably get some kudos
