The thread just goes so fast its hard to keep up. I for one am soundly impressed with the articulate and constructive nature of the majority of the Retake Movement and yet I am finding it increasingly hard to accept detractor arguments such as "its just a game, They made it so live with it or no other media changes its endings" and while I always calmly say that I respect their opinion and that I'm not wanting to change the ending their happy with, not one single anti ending change person has stated in respectful terms what is so good about the Ending(s) that cannot be refuted by a simple web search or wikipedia browse.
I am perhaps a little tired of the lack of substance in their arguments while ours are so erudite
First and foremost good morning!
Now on to what you posted. That is one thing that baffles/ annoys me. All these other sites that belittle us and what we are taking a stand for have never said what exactly they think is good about the way the game ended. When Bioware said they were going for something thought provoking and artistic the journalists just ran with it instead of thinking: "Well why do people hate the ending do bad"? "maybe I should look into their concerns".
Im not trying to bash here but it feels as if they just played the game without paying attention to certain things or didnt even botherreading the codex. Heck it has narration for crying out loud. They just played to get from A to B and so on it seems.
What I also don't get is that if they read up on why we are here and that we are in fact fans of the game in general aside from re the ending then they would have no merit for such negativity. If they loved the series as much as us they would look into the inconsistencies we have mentioned and how everything we had done didnt matter. All they did was see us say the endings were bad and went right to calling us spoiled and entitled and that Karhy Bates reference.
At the end of the day its their opinion but at least have enough common sense to read up on why this movement is important and why we expect the best from Bioware and when we don't get it we are going to let them know they can do better.
They as journalists should want that too.
Hold the line!!
I'm gonna go make waffles.
