Wow they've stooped that low? *smh* I guess we really can't trust mainstream gaming sites. All the more reason for us to look to non-gaming sites for support.

Now I am not going to rage more about this since I do not want to undermine anything that you / we guys have done so far. It just makes one wonder how long do they actually plan to wait before actually giving or saying something concrete on the matter. The longer they wait, the more harm they do to themselves and the bigger this whole thing grows. They are making a dangerous gamble here.
Oh yeah, another soldier squad reporting back for duty from Finland! o>

I just received a message from the person that originally filled the FTC complain, and asked others to do the same.
I'm not in the business of sharing the private messages people send to me, but I have to make an exception for this.
Here is his message:
"Hi. I'm the guy who first filed an FTC complaint (there are a lot of others now). I just wanted to say that I fully support the movement and was in no way trying to make it look bad. I knew that my move would be controversial, but that it would be a net PR gain for the movement if the story went viral, which it did. It wasn't done as an "attack" on bioware or anything of the sort; at best, the FTC would give them a slap on the wrist fine. The important thing was that it would keep the controversy in the media cycle, and that folks outside the gaming community actually know what the FTC is and what it's for and the fact that people filed complaints against EA carries weight. I just wanted to let you know that, since I know some thought I was trying to attack bioware or that it was a lawsuit or something; it's nothing of the sort. I'm on your side and this was my way of holding the line. Good luck to all of us, and remember Marauder Shields!"
Message Ends.
My response:
Your effort to keep the Retake movement in the spotlight has succeeded. Many people were were on the wire about the movement have now decided we are a bunch of arrogant, selfish gamers that are lashing out because we don't know how to act constructively.
Your move to file with the FTC has received universally negative reactions, and had undone much of the good the movement has managed to do, and has added a permanent blemish to our record.
You have managed to create infighting among the #RetakeMassEffect movement when we need as much cohesion as possible.
You have shown Bioware and EA that we are not responsible enough to be communicated with as we will just attack them blindly. They have no reason to offer a dialogue with us if they believe that we are going to attack them out right.
The Retake movement is a movement of gamers united in the attempt to get the ending that the Mass Effect series deserves.
We are not here to launch legal campaigns and make enemies out of the only entities that can help us achieve our goals.
If you wish to continue your FTC suit please do so elsewhere, and please make every attempt to distance yourself from the #RetakeMassEffect movement.

On the other hand, Casey Hudson did give us "an ending that no one would forget". Sadly, it is for all the wrong reasons.
Indeed. The ending did not have anything to do with the rest of the game.

To be honest, if theres one good thing about the ending.
Its how horrifying and stupid it actually was.
If it wasn't actually *THAT* bad, then some of us would be able to accept it and the movement wouldn't be as big as it is.
by that logic it would be better if it was worse...
Then again I'm not entirely certain that's possible.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, but if BW/EA doesn't relent and they believe I should just imagine my own ending with what they gave me, then they can just imagine me playing their future games while I'm buying/playing games from other companies.
That.
That's what I feel about the endings.
Well said!
Same here and same for a lot of people.
I don't think they realise that smearing us is just pissing us off even more. After this fiasco I'm wondering if I'll ever buy a Bioware game or an EA game again even if they fix the ending...

It's about whether or not you agree with the following as our mission statement:
We hold grievances with the current ending and EA/BioWare because:
- The game's ending fails to meet what we were promised as consumers.
- The game's ending fails to meet our expectations as fans.
- The response from BioWare needs to change.
- We have jobs, families, responsibilities. We dedicate our time to this cause because we genuinely care about Mass Effect and its story.
- We want to see a product that we, as human beings, as consumers, as fans, and as players can be proud of.
Retake Mass Effect 3 - Hold the line.
- We wish to see a conclusion to the game that does the rest of the series justice - in terms of concluding the story and providing the players with both choices and consequences to prior choices.

exactly....it's dropping because of the returns to gamestop/ebgames....places now have to drop their new price to keep up, also, there are lots of folks that ignore the 'critical success' and now focus on gamer reviews and 70-80% of them say the same thing, in any language...it's great until the end...

Suggesting that the endings be fixed to show that the current ending was mearly a failed attempt at indoctrination where the illusion is broken when the "Destroy" choice is made. Freeing Shepard to actually find that he/she was actually talking to Harbinger.
Paragon choice - High EMS - use combined galaxy forces to beat back the reapers.
Renegade choice - Indeterminant EMS - Sacrifice earth to give the galaxy forces a chance to beat back the reapers.
Third Choice - Low EMS - Shepard sacrifices self to destroy Harbinger. The galaxy forces beat back reapers at heavy cost.
More sweet and less bitter please.

I'd like to remind folk that sometimes we are going to get people who may attempt to disrupt this movement, but I ask that you treat their opinions with respect, opinions are neither correct or incorrect, they are "opinions", I'd also like to remind folk that it is against forum rules to call "anyone" a troll, no matter how badly they might act, if you have a problem with anyone, report them quietly using the report button or a pm to the moderators, do not engage them.Gi-Joe-Ge wrote...

Apparently they are trying to make people associate us with that one guy who went to FTC thus painting us in... less than flattering light. Apparently they also have removed any comments trying to state otherwise and/or comments about the crappiness of the endings.

Mass Effect 3 has dropped from £39.99 to £36.99 on Amazon. Bioware have got to be getting a bit scared about this by now. Hold the line and hope for the best!
Good news.
It's at the same time dreadful and nice that Bioware made Holding the Line this easy. I mean, with the ending we at the moment have, there is nothing else to do, no half-comforts or such to go back to, only soul wrecking hollowness. I wonder if they really believe this will just fade to nothingness.
That's probably just Amazon trying to bring more traffic to their site, and get more loyal customers. When a game is new, retailers will sometimes do this to try and get more loyal customers. Probably coming out of Amazon's pockets, not EA's/Bioware's.

For me the good thing about the ending... was that I got stuck in denial stage and was easy enough for me to imagine a true ending. Either way Bioware is moved to my blacklist. I dont buy EA games period. Bioware was the exception. Now they are there along with em too.
Funny though. In my imaginary ending I came up with this short explanation.
Citadel did got destroyed, Energy burst (red) destroyed reapers, but little weirdo starchld was a lying bastard hardbinger trying to get to me. And no the geth not being reapers weren't destroyed. However all Secondary Mass Relays That had been active were overloaded and went caput. Primary relays are intact. After that many ways to figure out something. And is too long to continue but there ya go.
